The one statement alone about not getting rid of people was enough to get a check in the w column from me for JL. Awesome company and awesome products and obviously take care of their employees. I'll also add that you can clearly tell why their prices are what they are.
😆. Sounds like some sjw stuff. It's not like they go out on the streets or put an add in the paper There isnt a quota of how many of each they have to employ
I was an installer on and off for ~25 years and went to the Miramar facility about 20 years ago. It was MUCH smaller. I remember installing JL maybe around late 90s when the tweeters were oval. I managed a high end shop from '99 to '08 and my 2004 Mercury Marauder was our store JL Audio demo vehicle. Still have that car today, still have ALL of the original equipment that was installed in 2005 working perfectly. Outdated? Yep. But sounds fantastic. Buy GREAT equipment the first time and you won't be wasting your money.
i remember carrying JL Audio in my shop during the 80's those entry level 12w1 in a single reflex bandpass enclosure teamed with a precision power amplifier was a classic combination the good ole days.
I guess nowadays that would be considered a SQ build. Hi I got to admit I would love to have some old school gear in brand new condition. Rockford fosgate Punch subs are still beasts. But JL... For sure that sounds nice
@@chadstockton6821 PPI amps where the beast in those days, very strong amps which still work in my 1997 4runner. PPI old school still hitting hard to this day.
JL Audio is my go to first whenever I want a subwoofer, so seeing the attention to detail and craftsmanship makes me love their products even more. I’m willing to pay a premium for American made
We appreciate that continued support! We're happy to know you enjoyed a look at some of our manufacturing processes. Stay Tüned as we'll be releasing more content from our manufacturing facilities soon!
Me too. I live in Jamaica and from i started with my old skool 8w6 and 12w6 subs i never looked back. They're old now and i have to be repairing them alot but i love em dearly. My folks come at me for being so loyal to them but the only chamge i will make is to upgrade to the w7 series. I appreciate every ounce of work these angels put into making life awesome with these products. I hope there is JL Audio in the life after this one :D
I'm impressed by the VP knowledge about every aspect and technical about their products and production, also by the fact he precise that the robots they use are there to help workers and not to replace them. All this tells me a lot about the company. Kudos to CarAudioFabrication and JL Audio for that wonderful visit.
Awesome tour. I'm glad to see JL is supporting the local community and company workers will the rates they charge. I recently picked up a used 13w7 with hopes of making a fathom home sub in the future. In the meantime, I have it in my tundra on a RF 1500bdcp. I have never heard bass so clean and effortless. It is an absolute joy to listen to.
Man I miss my 15w3. Those days were some of my fondest memories in car audio. That sub survived for a long time with me beating the hell out of it with just over 1200 watts (measured), and when it fried JL replaced it for free! Those were the days!
Just an awesome video Mark! This is probably one of your best. I love the documentary style that you based this off of. Also, you asked the perfect questions! Thank you and of course YES, we would love more videos of the construction processes! One thing you definitely did was build value and justification of JL Audio and their products. Those drivers are not Chinese rebranded models that 15 other companies offer. They are one of a kind, hand built, in the USA! Again, well done my friend!!!!
Glad to see people like Steve and the others with that happy exited attitude and proud to represent the product and the company they work at. Companies need to interact more with consumers and listen, show winnovation and deliver what will carry them to the future. Thanks for sharing
BRO!! They charge their own magnets? I kind of overlook JL because they are a mainstream brand but after seeing this (I am an engineering intern) this has given me a deep appreciation of the quality and in house design/assembly that is being done here.. I am without a doubt buying a set of C7's now.. I had no idea they were built to this degree of precision and quality. I am completely blown away!
I gotta agree with him that the finish is what we see first, I opened up a soundbar system with a subwoofer I bought and the piano finish was so scratched up I didnt even bother continuing and just went straight back with it. Cool to see all the work and testing they do, really makes you feel comfortable buying JL Audio gear :)
I love listening to Steve talk, and he can go for hours and hours at that speed, one of the best talkers I have ever met, I have had the pleasure of attending his lectures three times I believe back when I was selling car audio, and even had the pleasure of getting drinks with him afterwards and spending a few hours getting to know him, wonderful guy, fantastic family man, wonderful father, and husband, and one of the most genuine honest guys, you will ever meet and so proud of the work that JL. Audio has done over the decades. I will never buy another brand of car audio product. I have been away from the industry for more than a decade and seeing Steve again makes me miss the old days. Thank you Mark for this tour of JL audio facilities
There are so many excellent manufacturers out there and I have known about JL Audio for a very long time (my church five years ago installed JL Audio equipment (amplifiers/speakers/everything) to do all of the music and multimedia in the main auditorium. JL Audio was already in my list of top ten but the level of professionalism and quality I see in this video during this tour, man! I am just blown away!!!! Their attention to detail at EVERY SINGLE STEP in the manufacturing process is beyond believable. I am getting some JL subs this week to add to my testing and project development. It is now time! I wish every manufacturer showed off their stuff in this way.
Ever since the first time I heard a trio of w6v1 12s in the back of my buddys 1996 extended cab ranger, (I’m sure the were being powered by an Alpine v12 2 channel or something similar), I will never forget the pressure that they caused in the cabin of the trunk and the amazing sound that they had! I feel like I felt spent the last 26 years since that day in high school chasing that same sound where the subwoofers played all the way from 50 or 60 Hz down to the mid to high 20s… Completely flat! Or at least it sounded very good! Very musical but yet very loud at the same time! Extremely low distortion and just an overall pleasant listening experience with very little fatigue! Even though I somewhat showed my age with that high school comment, I’m still very much involved in the industry building custom vehicles in my area and guessing I’ve designed, built and installed over 1000 systems including custom subwoofer boxes for some of metro Detroit’s best custom vehicles! …systems for some of Sundown‘s best subs, DC audio, crossfire, Rockford Fosgate etc. and still nothing shakes a stick at a 12W7 in a sealed box on a good 1000/1! They sound amazing vented also but to have that kind of output in a sealed box is nothing short of amazing! Sorry for the rant lol… I said all of that to say this, I’ve always loved JL audio‘s products and this video just made me love them even more!! Keep up the great work guys and keep the great content coming Mark!
Heard my first set of JL’s in 1993. A pair of JL 10w6 paired to a Rockford Fosgate amp. My favorite system ever was a trio of 12w6’s powered off a Phoenix Gold Amp. I’ve owned a bunch of Wo subs and had a setup with four 12w3’s once. Now I am looking at building a non bass heavy system. Pure clarity. All JL speakers, I just have to decide if I want to run JL amps over other companies like Audio Control. In the car audio world, JL stands at the forefront of my mind because all the other great audio companies that put car audio on the map have sold out or traded compromises for profit margins. JL needs to bring out a JL classic line of W6’s! They where just amazing and they are what put JL on the map. Honor the W6, the culture and JL with a classic series!!! Even the classic dust cap would build excitement!
Just pulled my 12w0 out of my truck that I used while I was waiting on my Stealthbox to get delivered. Now I have two 10w1-v3s under the rear seat paired with two sets of JL components and amped off two Alpine amps. I'm in acoustic heaven.
I ran a pair of 12w1 subs in the mid 90's and never used anything else but JL Audio subwoofers since. I am currently 50 yrs young running a 12w6 off an HD750/1 and 2 sets of C5 6.5 components off the HD600/4 with audio control signal processors in my 90 civic h/b si. After watching this video, paying thousands of dollars for my JL Audio products over the years is justified. Thank you for the memories JL Audio...Awesome👍🏼CAF...no matter what Doug says. #JLAUDIO4LIFE #AUDIOCONTROL #DAGOODLIFE
Owning a car that’s built with JL everything. Speakers. Subwoofer. Amps. Line out converter. Distribution blocks. RCA cables. Fuses. RBC remote. I think ya get the point. But it was awesome to see how these products were made so that I can now justify why I’ve spent the ridiculous amount of money I’ve spent. Can’t wait for part 2,3 and so on. 💯💪🏼
Would love to see the production line (32:18) and the woodshop/CNC department (35:36) in more detail, and of course would watch if you got a chance to tour the electronics department (41:05) - I’d definitely watch a full part 2, 3, and on. Awesome seeing the behind the scenes action going on at JL
I only have full JL AUDIO systems in all of my vehicles (6) and I've never had any problems or no reason to ever think about any other brands. Their AUDIO systems are just phenomenal
After seeing this video, this makes me feel great about my recent purchase. I just ordered a stealth box paired with a Audio control D-5.1300 and powerbass Toyota oem replacement speakers for my 22 3rd GEN Tacoma. $1000 price tag was hard to swallow for the sub but now I feel great that I’m supporting an awesome American company and yes please show us the Phoenix Arizona location I’m really interested because it’s my home state.
I have a whole new appreciation for this company and can now justify paying a bit more for my W3s. Going forward I would go 100% JL audio products. Even if it means a few more weeks of savings it's worth the investment in a company that treats their employees well and builds in the USA with amazing quality and precision!
The fact that JL has Mazak CNC machines is mind blowing! Most companies will invest in the more economic Haas and be happy. Mazak is serious business and offers great repeatability for aerospace parts. This is one of the times where you can see why you’re paying JL prices for their products! Absolutely incredible!!
People still talk about how loud my two 12w0's were on just 250w which was later beat by my two 12w3v4's on 600w that metered a 46.2 on the dash. JL definitely works some wizardry ish in places we still haven't seen, and Im only happy about it.
Yes, Mark!! Please visit tge amp manufacturing facility, by all means!! Also, can we get a breakdown on hybrid car systems? That is more relevant every day!!!!
I LOVE JL AUDIO!!! I still remember my first jl sub an 8 inch with a hole in the rubber which i silicone and put in a carton box and put a whole bunch of tape to “reinforce” the box In 1999 then 3 w3’s in 2002 and its been a wrap since. JL are the best subs ever!!
JL audio and Audio control were always my go to brands since high school. I’ve ran many of their products all the way up to the W7 bad boys. Unfortunately due to my health issues I haven’t been able to get back into car audio for the last 7 years. Someday maybe! I’d love to tour their shop as well as get into their home audio equipment as well. Love that they are now part of Garmin, another very amazing company. Used many of their products when I was still flying as well as vehicles.
JL was always great with customer service. Box’s I built within spec & not abusing with cheap amps they always accommodated my needs. The sq of their subs with the power handling has always been worth the premium price. I’ve used w-0 w-1 w3v2-v3 & w7. All excellent when amp & box design + cost were major concerns with the lower end stuff. I’d like to try the shallow mount stuff as well as the fathom/Gotham for home. I will always choose them for future car audio as I’ve never heard another mobile sub be so flexible & musically perfect. Yes other brands make big power dumps but JL has been excellent with their subs as a builder and the reference manuals are top notch and should be available for everyone for free!
Mike, thank you so much for sharing this story. We appreciate the kind words and continued support throughout the years. We're pleased to know you've continued to have a wonderful experience!
I've always used JL in all my vehicles throughout the years... its good to see why this company has the best quality and sound above all other companies.... at least that's my opinion.
Big JL Audio fan. Traded my Palisade for an Acura RDX so I was gonna downsize. Gave away a 1200/1, 12W7AE in a Gateley Ported Enclosure. Was going to buy a ProWedge 10W7AE and 750/1 but changed to a ProWedge 12W7AE. I looked at a lot of other subwoofers / amp combinations but after having owned 4 W7s in the past, I stayed with JL Audio.
Very cool guys. I'm rebuilding a truck and just replaced the old JL Audio 10" Subs. I wonder if I should ship them to them so they could finalize their life.
I digg JL. They are awesome. This is where peoples money goes. Goes into making perfect every time equipment for you. Just like that one body shop guy that can paint his cheeks off. Can’t wait to hear them talk about the VX1000/5i. Quite a sweet amp. I have 2 of them. Nice to take the tour with ya Mark. Bless up!
What an amazing video. I wish JL audio would consider experimenting with the home audio line again, that way someone could have a complete JL audio home theatre system.
I still have a pair of OG 10w7's stored away waiting for the day they return to use. I wasn't very aware of JL until a friend of mine traded a set of wheels for a pair of JL 12's in a box and an Alpine amp in the late 90's. Been a fan ever since.
Yes pls Take us through the tour of Electronics manufacturing in JL. Seems it is one of the few US companies which is manufacturing products in US. Keep it up JL 👍
Definitely want to see the Electronics division. I've been pounding J L Audio subs and amplifiers since I was in high school back in the early and mid 90's. J L Audio has never disappointed me and has impressed many who have got to hear/see them. It's really nice to see J L Audio manufacturing and producing here in the USA. Makes me feel better dropping some extra cash for a W6 or W7 knowing these products are being made here at home employing many Americans who I know bring more to the table with quality and absolutely amazing sound that frankly...sound like quality !!! Anyone bumping some W6's back in the 90's was definitely the boss on the block and heard for many blocks lol 😎
I would love to see how J L amplifiers are made and put together. My favorite amp would probably be the original Slash series 1000/1... the black chassis model.
1993/4, junior in HS. two JL 8W6s on a Phoenix Gold M44's rear channels, ported. Sounded absolutely stunning. Buddy of mine had two 15W1s in a 4th order bandbass with Rockford Punch powering them, also sounded great. The audio shop we used to hang out at did a lot of JL sub installs. Mids and highs from that era were usually Boston Acoustics or MB Quart, although Rockford was available. JL was just into subs at that time, at least that shop only stocked their subs, but components came very soon after.
This is such an awesome Tour of the JL Audio Head Quarters! Thank you so much for sharing, Mark 😎👊 edited: I would LOVE to see the extra footage you got here on your channel.
OH MAN!!! A Trip to AZ to see THE AMPS!!! And ALL THE AMAZING PARTS that make the 31ST CENTURY SO AWESOME?!?!? YES PLEASE!!!!!! (same with the Fiberglass enclosures too!!! YES_PLZ!!! ) 🙏🙏 I had NO IDEA how different those shallow Woofers were!!1 HOLY SCHMOLY!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! JL has been my FIRST CHOICE for Subs and Amps, even thought I couldn't afford new ones, back when I put 4000 watts (RMS of course) into 2 JL W6's & 2 12" Rockford-Fosgate 'somethings I can't remembers' using an older Planet Audio amp AND some Rockford-Fosgate amp into a Kia hatchback back in 2001..... I cracked the glass on one of the first bass hits!!! .... yea... Learn a little bit that weekend LOL ... we threw it all in there just because we were bored and we had taken one of the amps and the 2 of the subs out of my friends car that died and he was selling... sop we just 'tested it out' AHHHH the good ol' days!!! I wish I had that kind of energy still.... Well I can't wait to see what you show us next!!!
Very interesting video. JL is underrated in todays car audio world. They produce world class products that are still affordable for working class people.
While I very much enjoyed the tour of the speaker and enclosure factory, being a former U.S.N. electronics tech, I would REALLY!!!!!!!!!! love to see a tour of the electronics side of thing! As always, excellent video. I look forward to the next upload.
I wasnt really a huge huge fan of JL components but i recently got just a pair of cheap JL c1 components for a but of extra musical experience in my build (on a budget obviously) and i was VERY impressed with the sound quality of them. So impressed ive actually decided when i go to build my doors, im sticking with 4 sets of c1s for the front doors just to keep it loud as hell but also sounding amazing vs loud speakers
I have watched so many videos from you and learned so much. I am looking to upgrade my car audio system and I would need to make an infinite baffle subwoofer system in order to maintain the original speaker setup. I would love to see you cover that in a video! Love the content, and your fabrication skills are awesome!
Still rocking my set up for years and converted a lot of people to JL’s… -(2)Jlaudio 13w6v2 custom box -Jlaudio 1000/1 mono amp -(4)Jlaudio Evo C3 6.5 -Jlaudio 300/4 4 ch. amp
Wow.. someplace like this would be a fun place to see. I love my tech, but really don't care about how they make it.. this is easier to understand and appreciate the dedication to each piece of product. Amazing.
would love to see more, fan since 1995...just bought bronco and bought powered sub, I took it apart just to see the quality and was amazed. hopefully a Bronco stealth box is on the horizon!
Had no idea this company is like 30 min from my house... would have bought my 12inch sub from them if I would have known, to support local businesses.. great vid and awesome to see this process ..
I am a big JL Audio fan. I am a bigger fan now than I was before. I think I will pony up the big $$ for the superior sound now. I have a background in manufacturing. So it was cool to see as a maintenance person.
I will definitely stop complaining about JL's pricing! Awesome facility and people! Thanks for the video
The one statement alone about not getting rid of people was enough to get a check in the w column from me for JL. Awesome company and awesome products and obviously take care of their employees. I'll also add that you can clearly tell why their prices are what they are.
I had no idea they employed so many people, kudos to JL Audio for keeping production domestic. Good video.
🧡
Loved that it was mixed men and women of different nationalities 😊🫡
😆. Sounds like some sjw stuff. It's not like they go out on the streets or put an add in the paper

So frickin cool to see inside the JL warehouse and so cool to see you out doing tours, Mark!
Glad you enjoyed seeing some of our manufacturing processes. It was great to have Mark come by our main facility.
has anyone used these in a home theater setting
I'm impressed by the VP knowledge about every aspect and technical about their products and production, also by the fact he precise that the robots they use are there to help workers and not to replace them. Hey Mark! Thanks for the Video, it is awesome to see where I work from an outside perspective.
And this explains the hefty price tag for JL Audio products! You get what you pay for IMO... Great video thank you
Kickers are cheaper because they have less people in there factory tour.
Glad to see people like Steve and the others with that happy exited attitude and proud to represent the product and the company they work at.

I can't afford new JL Audio products, but I've used their stuff used and it always worked fine. Great video.
I was leaning to JL from listening to it in a car audio store but now I’m in love. Thanks!

People still talk about how loud my two 12w0's were on just 250w which was later beat by my two 12w3v4's on 600w that metered a 46.2 on the dash.
JL definitely works some wizardry ish in places we still haven't seen, and Im only happy about it.
I bought my First subwoofer back in 2006, the 12W6V2-D4. Still it's working. Awesome company.
Definitely would like to see the other videos if available!
Electronics tour for sure!!!!
Yes, Mark!! Please visit tge amp manufacturing facility, by all means!!
Also, can we get a breakdown on hybrid car systems? That is more relevant every day!!!!
I toured the facility a couple of years ago, never will forget it.
Awesome! What was your favorite part of the tour?
I live right around the corner from the factory. Love their products!
you could tell this guy really loved having you there man. asking all the right questions and having a hoot of it.
I love these kind of videos! It's even better when you've used the product and know it too
JL was always great with customer service.
Yes, I would like to see the jL audio electronics division in AZ.
Wow very nice!!! Great video, an would love to see the electronics production.
Recently bought a JL CP106LG subwoofer for my hot hatch and boy does this thing sound good and has power; cannot believe that its only a 6 inch sub.
Happy to hear you're enjoying it!
Bless up!
Mark, although it’s not YOUR build video, this is one of your best videos.
Great content here. Thanks.
What an amazing video. I wish JL audio would consider experimenting with the home audio line again, that way someone could have a complete JL audio home theatre system.
😉
@@JLAudioInc I think I might just save my pennies for a while.
Its nice to see there's still a few companies left manufacturing in the U.S.A. I'll be buying more JL products moving forward to keep this going.
I still have a pair of OG 10w7's stored away waiting for the day they return to use.
I wasn't very aware of JL until a friend of mine traded a set of wheels for a pair of JL 12's in a box and an Alpine amp in the late 90's. Been a fan ever since.
Appreciate the love!
Great work Mark. So cool to get this experience.
Yes pls
Take us through the tour of Electronics manufacturing in JL.
Stay Tüned - we plan on brining more factory tour content soon ;)
I would love to see how J L amplifiers are made and put together. My favorite amp would probably be the original Slash series 1000/1... the black chassis model.
Awesome vid Mark
Nice JL audio plant tour, I will like to see the electronic plant too.
Dude- OF COURSE we all want to see the fiberglass and woodshop videos.
Please produce them ASAP :)
Definitely more videos of the tour!
Great video JL is the best have used in all my cars.
Would love to see the additional videos on finishing the fiberglass enclosures as well as the wooden enclosures!
We have a few of those videos on our channel, but we plan on shooting more soon!
Thanks for video. Greetings from Italy
OH MAN!!! A Trip to AZ to see THE AMPS!!! And ALL THE AMAZING PARTS that make the 31ST CENTURY SO AWESOME?!?!? YES PLEASE!!!!!! (same with the Fiberglass enclosures too!!! YES_PLZ!!! ) 🙏🙏
I had NO IDEA how different those shallow Woofers were!!1 HOLY SCHMOLY!!!!!
I cracked the glass on one of the first bass hits!!! .... yea... Learn a little bit that weekend LOL ... we threw it all in there just because we were bored and we had taken one of the amps and the 2 of the subs out of my friends car that died and he was selling... sop we just 'tested it out'
AHHHH the good ol' days!!! I wish I had that kind of energy still....
Well I can't wait to see what you show us next!!!
I used to have a jl 10w3 in high school, should have never let it go.
Christ. I knew they were top notch and expensive for a reason but after watching this JL is worth every over engineered dollar they ask for.
❤
Very interesting video. JL is underrated in todays car audio world. They produce world class products that are still affordable for working class people.
This is definitely a treat!
Excellent. Thank you.
While I very much enjoyed the tour of the speaker and enclosure factory, being a former U.S.N. electronics tech, I would REALLY!!!!!!!!!! love to see a tour of the electronics side of thing! As always, excellent video. I look forward to the next upload.
Stay tüned - we will work on bringing electronics tech video soon!
Man JL sent their best guy to give Mark the tour 🙆🏽♂️. Great video love the tour.
Definitely would LOVE to see the Electronics MFG
I have watched so many videos from you and learned so much. I am looking to upgrade my car audio system and I would need to make an infinite baffle subwoofer system in order to maintain the original speaker setup. I would love to see you cover that in a video! Love the content, and your fabrication skills are awesome!
Yes please cover the other areas of manufacture
bring back the 18w6.. market as old school series... the 12w4, everything the same...
18:34 my heart raced!! I was like WTH, those drills sounded so real
Still rocking my set up for years and converted a lot of people to JL’s…
-(2)Jlaudio 13w6v2 custom box
-Jlaudio 1000/1 mono amp
-(4)Jlaudio Evo C3 6.5
-Jlaudio 300/4 4 ch. amp
Love it! Thank you so much for your continued support throughout the years!
Wow.. someplace like this would be a fun place to see. I love my tech, but really don't care about how they make it.. this is easier to understand and appreciate the dedication to each piece of product. Amazing.
This video makes me take so much pride owning Jl speakers and amps. The best of the best 👌🏽
Thank you so much for the support!
Please do the extra detailed videos! This was great 👍🏻
would love to see more, fan since 1995...just bought bronco and bought powered sub, I took it apart just to see the quality and was amazed. hopefully a Bronco stealth box is on the horizon!
😉
Thanks for this awesome Video And yes I would love to see more. Thanks Mark !!
YES! more JL vids please...
Yes we wanna see more on the enclosure, fiberglass, ect! Such a cool facility
@12:07 I see Hexagon branded robotic arm. So cool to see our products are being used by JL audio ☺
Had no idea this company is like 30 min from my house... would have bought my 12inch sub from them if I would have known, to support local businesses.. great vid and awesome to see this process ..
I've never upgraded my car speakers before so I'm doing research now. I'm getting some JL audio ones now, thanks for sharing the tour
That was an awesome tour and thanks to you for sharing the content with us ,the electronics tour will be great as well.🤓✌
I am a big JL Audio fan. I am a bigger fan now than I was before. I think I will pony up the big $$ for the superior sound now. I have a background in manufacturing. So it was cool to see as a maintenance person.
❤ Let us know if you have any questions at all!
@@JLAudioInc Why are you not in Best Buy stores?
