Time will tell how good they are - for £7 what do you think?

it is lightweight so I wouldn't use it in windy weather but ideal inside a garage freeing up your hands.

I have a couple of Lidl torches. I didn't have a huge amount of hope that a £7 torch would be any good, but that was 8 years ago! Standard 18650 2200mAh cell, 3W Luxeon LED, and can use it as a power bank to charge my phone. It is pretty small and easily goes in a jacket pocket for winter. I also have a 5W one that was 30% off. They all have machined metal cases and rubber seals. No idea how long they last, I just recharge them once a month.

Big fan of Lidl tools and equipment in general and I have several of their rechargeable lights, all of which work well and have lasted. The magnets are powerful and the hooks useful, and have yet to break. My only negative comment is that they cut off completely when the battery needs charging, no warning, no flashing or dimming, just off!! The red light is useful if you break down in darkness, just stick it on the roof facing to the rear. Breakdown man can then see you easily. I've had ring lamps in the past but the soft grip rubber always turns to a sticky mess after a few years, which is annoying when a light costs 30 quid or so! So I avoid them now.

Subbed purely because of the grumpyness. I am at that age too. Loved it.
I have the folding Parkside lamp and I really do like it. Yes you do have to scroll through to turn it of but wait, if you leave it on one setting for a minute or two, then one press will turn it off. Technology aye?

There a brilliant bit of kit for the money I had the larger Parkside one stuck on the inside of the roof of my taxi for when folks came to pay so they could see there money/card for payment it worked a treat used it many times during a shift and it rarely needed to be recharged a solid 10 out of 10 from me.

The lamps certainly look like good value. I won't be trying the lamps though as I already have a few similar torches. Generally I find the Parkside tools to be pretty good quality, and excellent value, and with a better warranty than might be expected considering the cost. I think it's about time that Lidl gave you a few freebies to test !

is the red flasher an emergency warning for breakdowns? That can be a requirement in some markets to have some method of warning on-coming traffic. Stick one in your glove box and you have several bases covered.

About the 'having to click it four times to switch it off'... Some are semi intelligent. Switch it on to the option you want by pressing it however many times you need to get to the mode you want, then after it's been on for more than a few seconds, a further single press turns it off without a need to scroll through the different modes.

    • @JonCoupland

It's quite clear there is very good value for money, and
the red light flashing is a breakdown aid, saying charging a tier on the motorway at night. One of your rivals uses nothing but Parkside tools from lidel on his utube channel for car repairs from copart.
Happy New Year to you all

try the equivalents off temu and review? I have just bought some content creation gear for my youtube channel. A tripod arrived yesterday, less than £7 and it's not bad for its price, ideal for just starting out if you have a new youtube channel. I will be doing a review of it for content once my other bits arrive
