    I so feel this judge. I was a witness in a case about selling stolen goods and the accused went through 8 lawyers, delaying the trial. I was under subpoena 3 or 4 times. It was YEARS. On the last hearing he had his lawyer move to do to trial and 'threw himself on the mercy of the court' pleading to have the guilty verdict set aside, as it would create a hardship for him by stopping him from crossing the US/Canadian border for business trips. The judge asked him where his remorse was when he was dragging 3 witnesses and several police officers back to court, for several years, then threw him in jail for 18 months.

      No idea why this is the trend today. Gen X here. I was plotting my escape when I was 16! Being independent was the goal. Joined the Marines Sept 11 came around stayed in retired. Learned a highly profitable trade skill (working on planes) and never looked back. Today mama is the goal. What a diminishing of the human spirit.

    • @StoutShako
      @StoutShako 21 день назад

      @@JA-tr9ze Gen X was the last time most people could afford housing for themselves. Imagine being a millennial and having the Great Recession happen just as you're graduating. Then, when you're finally doing okay, Covid comes out of nowhere and makes you eat pavement.
      Meanwhile, wages are stagnant, the cost for housing, healthcare, utilities, and childcare are through the roof, college is completely unaffordable, and even for those who are in blue collar trades like me, you have to work with the knowledge that one untimely accident at work could be the difference between you living a good, comfortable life, and coming a hair's breadth from wanting to end it all.
      That's not even getting into the anxieties about climate change threatening our food security in the next decade or so. You old timers really have no clue. Millennials and Gen Z are doing the best we can with the dumpster fire y'all left for us.

    This Atty always looks like she could use a drug test, many times she'll wear completely inappropriate clothing that looks like she raided her Granddaughters closet. What I mean by "inappropriate" is, the clothing/tops have a strap instead of sleeves which then have the top part hanging loosely, not showing anything but definitely not for court ESPECIALLY from an Atty. Hear hair looks like a rat might be living in it and she just rolls words together from time to time. I wonder if they've ever tested an Atty during a hearing. I know there is the case out of Vegas where an Atty showed up drunk, claimed he got into an accident but didn't call the Police and got a ride from "a friend of a friend". When the Judge was asking him about his health and the accident on why he didn't call the Cops he said in his experience it wouldn't do any good. He was clearly not in his right mind. The did delay the case, his client was facing life in prison and the Atty was given a PBT in court. He failed, just look up drunk Las Vegas Atty, it's a difficult watch. So the 2nd case is assault family which is her 2nd time and yet the State drops the repeat offender? What's going on in Texas? It's starting to sound more like CA and Illinois where you can shoot a cop and walk out of jail on a PR bond.

    How about editing out the same technical things the judge has to say every time? It has to be said in the court but we don't need to hear it every single time.

    Judge Boyd is rough. When she puts someone on probation, they may think that they are getting off easy because they are not going to be imprisoned, but she tacks on so much stuff that has to be accomplished(community service, classes, proof of employment, UA's) they may wish they were I'mprimsoned.
