- Anya Taylor-Joy chats with ET's Matt Cohen at the premiere of ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ in Los Angeles. The actress opens up about her choice to cosplay as her character, Princess Peach, at the premiere. She also reveals if she would be down for a Princess Peach spin-off movie. Anya admits she's 'kind of' nervous about delivering this film to the dedicated 'Super Mari Bros.' audience, but she's also excited for young people to see Princess Peach as a role model, representing female leadership. ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie' is in theaters on April 5.

I saw this and it was worth every minute. My daughter said she loved it too. She gave it 100/10 and she's 9 with many Mario games under her belt
She was an amazing Princess Peach❤She's one of my favorite actresses since The Witch and she really captured Peach very well in this movie.

@@xenophonanthony2791that’s what I like about it, no offense but to me, peach was kinda, ANNOYING, she was just so dependent on Mario and we very rarely saw her do anything good in the original, she had the power to be so much more but it seemed like she declined it most times, movie peach is savage and not as dependent(definitely), +not being rude to original peach’s actress, but her voice was kinda annoying, it was just so loud and sorta squeaky(if going to reply please don’t reply rudely, I am not trying to be rude or start an argument, I am simply stating my opinion)
Man that movie was SO GOOD...FAR better than the expectations I had set for it being a video game movie...I'm so impressed and happy. Well done to the whole Mario team!
I got used to most of the voices except for cranky Kong and donkey Kong. They were particularly very miscast. But yes, i surprisingly loved the movie.
And MILES better than the 1993 version... Ugh.

Watched this in IMAX 3D with the kids, great movie, those critics who dissed this movie, ignore them. Its a great family movie, its fun and I will guarantee everyone, all ages will enjoy it!
You sure it was IMAX 3D? Can't find a single mention of it being in that format and no showings, all i can see is 2D IMAX, regular 3D or Dolby 2D.

I was born in 1987. I grew up playing Mario on my super Nintendo. Now my 7-year-old daughter plays Mario games on her switch, and to see this movie with her was a wonderful experience. Thanks to all the people involved in this project.

It's kinda weird she play prostitute in one movie and be a lead in a kids movie lol. I like it though just shows actors can be flexible in the the type of roles they get.

Anya, if you're reading this, you rock that Peach costume! If you want to cosplay more, I would recommend it. Unless you want to keep a low profile. If so, I'd recommend Harley Quinn. Your face would be covered, so they'd have to look really close to see it's you and there are hundreds of Harley Quinn cosplayers, so you'd blend in.
I'm hoping to meet Jen Taylor (voice of Peach during the early 2000's) in a Mario costume at Tampa Bay Comic Con this year, and hoping there will be Peach cosplayers looking for their Mario.

What I love most about this movie is that it gives me a reason to love these iconic characters.
Cuz I’m gonna be honest, before the movie. I knew of these characters and thought, “yeah they’re kind of neat”. But never found them to be anywhere close to endearing.
Now however, I think Peach is super cool! What they did with her in this movie totally caught me off guard. I loved seeing Mario and Luigi’s bond and getting an understanding of their love for one another. Even Toad was pretty great! I just love that context does a lot, and now these icons aren’t just one dimensional icons to me. They’re actually characters!
I loaded up Smash after this and immediately all of the Mario characters suddenly meant something to me. They weren’t just “Mario Characters” you know what I mean? And I find that pretty awesome!

There's been a lot of talk about "girlboss" Peach, but anyone familiar with the character when she actually gets a chance to act on her own already knows that she's been a badass in a dress since the 80s. She calls herself Princess instead of Queen and wears her poofy frilly dress simply because she's powerful enough to get away with indulging herself.

I would love a Princess Peach Spin-Off. As a long time gamer Princess Peach if you played Mario 2 was so much better than most. She used her dress to glide and it basically made everything so much easier. She has had her own game which is like watching friend of yours get promoted. She does have a fairly basic story, but it is fun. The whole point of Nintendo characters no overly complicated and made to be fun. I love Anya's cosplay and her voice acting is very impressive. I didn't know her before hand. Watching the interview and hearing her I am so amazed. She did a fantastic job. I have read most critics reviews and don't understand the character. I feel Anya for what she did "research" by playing which is the right way to do it. She has managed to really embody Peach. Anya pulled it off as with the rest of the cast. They all did a great job. However, as I hear her. I would say she had the most change in a voice from her natural voice to Peach. So she gets huge amount of credit. I like the way she put it as to not do the voice exactly as one hears in the game. It is fine to me. For most of my life the characters outside of Mario didn't have a real main voice. I was wrong about Chris Pratt as Mario it works.
My hope is we get to see a Princess Peach, Donkey Kong Country, and other spinoffs. As they have introduced everyone needed for such movies. Great job Nintendo.

Well considering the game came out in 1985 for og fans. Anything past Mario 64 was starting to just feel like a kids game. Until Mario Oddysey which was just tedious.
