I totally agree. I was a heavy bleeder and my cycles would be 30-35 days instead of 28. I was going through ultra tampons in 1.5 hours the first two days of my cycle pre-myomectomy. Now I'm 28 days and don't need ultra tampons at all. I'm so glad I got the surgery.
My cycle has done a complete turnaround since having an open myomectomy. The cramps were almost unbearable before the surgery. It may sound cliche, but having the surgery was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time.
I started my cycle the same day I had my open myomectomy surgery 12-23-21. I was in the hospital for 3days. So far, so good. I started my cycle today and its HEAVY like never before. I didn't have that issue prior to surgery. So, with more healing, it should subside.
Hi Tiana! Your video is so encouraging! I love how you gave that encouragement at the end, especially. I just had my laparoscopic myomectomy 3 weeks ago and been researching about how it feels when one get their period after the surgery. Still in the healing process. Thanks for sharing your story.
Hello New Here👋🏼 Just had my surgery 5 days ago 2-2-21🤯 Today is a good day and everything you are covering is most definitely accurate in the sense of the surgery part! I debated for 6yrs to do it but honestly I'm glad I did it🤗 Thank You for sharing your experience because it helps me to know I'm on the right track of healing..GodBless🙏🏽
Glad to hear you are on the other side and doing well! Make sure u take easy and don't overdue it in the first few weeks. Wear a belly band if u can. It helps! CONGRATS :)
Just had my surgery on the 16th of this month, everything you said about pre menstruation was me thinking am pregnant lol. The only thing different from you was my bleeding was very heavy the 1st 2 days , I have a 3 year old and that pregnancy omg with the fibroids Jesus, 10 of them was taken out, if that give you any idea of the pain I went through. Anyways am in recovery period and hopefully we conceive soon after the 3 months, will give y'all updates stay in touch dear.
Wow! I can't imagine having 10! Ughhh le struggle. I hope your recovery is going well :) Will you be trying to conceive naturally or through IVF when u are cleared?
Today is day 4 and am still in pain when I walk or eat but I will be ok soon the bright side is I don't also have a new baby to beeastfeed etc. My toddler been nice lol, he is very active. Naturally and I think they will be twins lol 😆 don't ask me how I know that and I will be done having children 🤣😂😍 just my wish, will let you know tho. If it happens I will lose my mind hahaha will keep you in touch dear.
Omg y'all do you know I got pregnant in December 2021 and had my twins in August 2022. They were conceived naturally with God's help, a boy and a girl. God answered my prayers. I am so overjoyed
I had my laparscopy myomectomy on April 12, 2021😩 So I'm 2 weeks and 2 days. I'm feeling great right now and my main concern is how my period will treat me next month! Before surgery my cramps werent that bad. After my myomectomy, my cramps have been the worse Ive ever had. However, the bleed is way lighter. So I went from HEAVY CRIME SCENE bleeding no cramps, to now its very little bleeding and severe cramps. 😩 but Im happy the fibroids are gone
Ive had bad cramps the first two days of my cycle all my life , reminding me of labor pains so that wasn't new , what alerted me was my period lasted longer than 7 days to 10 to 13 days , I hope having the ones removed put my uterus helped me
Thanks for the video, it helps calm the mind of a few worries. Right now, had open myomectomy around 7 weeks ago, and was expecting my second period this week. The pain is there, the breast sensitivity is there, the vertigo, insomnia and just general wierdness is present, but the actual period is nowhere to be seen! It decided to take a vacation without filing in the proper paperwork😢. Plus can anyone tell me why the pain is extra where my tube was removed?

Hello ma'am I underwent laproscopic myomectomy last month. Doctor prescribed me contraceptive tablets for 3 months. My periods starts today. But till now I am having only spotting ( previously I never had spotting). I am a little worried. Could you please tell me whether periods flow will start normally?
Thank you so much for being so open and honest about your IVF and open myomectomy journey. Are you in Dallas, Tx? Out here in WV, where I'm at, they're leaning more toward a total abdominal hysterectomy for me ( I have one large fibroid 9.5ish, 2 small, and many little ones)and I've canceled my surgery twice because I believe I shouldn't have to do away with my uterus since I still want more kids( I have 3). So I'm looking at different locations and obgyn surgeon options, to give myself the best possible option.

I have had my myomectomy surgery for 6 weeks today 30/09/23 but I haven't seen my period and I'm getting fully recovered now. How Long should I be waiting for my first period?
Were you still taking Lupron before your surgery? I was taking it 4 months before surgery (12/18/2020) to help shrink fibroids. About 8 weeks post surgery and waiting for cycle to start. :-(
I was taking Lupron as a part of my IVF protocol in July. It had nothing to do with my fibroids and my fertility doctor seemed to be at a loss as to why I was in so much pain. It's crazy how much I'm learning on my own after the fact.
Hi Mar D. My doctor is suggesting that i take Lupron for 3 months before my surgery. Did taking Lupron shrink your fibroid? And how long after your surgery did you end up getting your period? Lastly if you could do it again would you have taken Lupron?
@@emc62591 Hi, after two months on Lupron I went for ultrasound and while talking to doctor I don't believe they shrunk much. I personally think taking it was to cut off the blood supply and keep the fibroids from growing during that waiting period. The hot flashes were real :-( My cycle returned 8 weeks post surgery. I pray not to have another surgery but no I wouldn't take Lupron again.
