I’m so so excited for you. I wish you were feeling better, my hope is that as you get further along things settle a bit. It’s good to hear you have access to help, in Canada we don’t seem to have near the level of care (still thankful it’s free too though!!)

Glad you’re getting help! You might soon be able to feel little flutters from baby :)
Some things that have helped me stay busy while pregnant are sewing and crocheting. I’ve replaced elastics in some cloth diapers I was gifted, made baby hats, converted some bras into nursing bras, and made my own nursing pads. It helps me keep my mind and hands busy while I’ve been too sick to work or go out much.

When you were talking about being fine while sitting, but unable to walk, it made me think - I wonder how you would feel on one of those recumbent bicycles where you are seated quite low to the ground? It might enable you to get outside and get the blood moving with a bit of exercise for your mental health that you've been missing without your walks. I can imagine it would be a more ergonomic way of moving yourself around than using your arms with a wheelchair, and would make you feel more autonomous and less reminded of your Lyme experience. Just wanted to share in case you might think this is worth trying!

Lightening crotch is usually baby's head on cervix or hitting a nerve (last 4-6 weeks of prenancy). What you're describing sounds more like SPD and occurs much earlier in pregnancy. Ask the midwife there's physio and things can be done, also if it's this they need to adapt birthing positions and how they move your legs so it's best to find out and document it in your notes.
Also have you tried compression socks for out and about? They can help POTS a lot.

So happy that we’re able to follow your journey. Just like many others, I too was part of the group that randomly found you like 8 years ago when I was learning about period cups. It’s crazy because we’re actually pregnant at the same time and a lot of what you’ve experienced is what I have. I am currently 27 weeks. One more week until I’m in the 3rd trimester! Even though I’ve always wanted to be a mom, when I found out I was pregnant I was excited but at the same time devastated because I just felt very detached from my body. It’s like my body was no longer my own and I’m just this incubator and if I do anything wrong, then my baby will suffer for it.
Well that’s just not true, and it wasn’t until I hit second trimester that it started to feel so much better. I have lots of support from my family and hubby, and it’s just so important that when you feel down, that you’re growing a whole human. It gets a lot more enjoyable when baby starts to kick, because it’s like you can really interact with them and you not feel as alone. I don’t know how to explain it. I’m so excited for my little girl to arrive in December, and it’s truly like I hit a full 180 from when I first found out I was pregnant to now. Stay strong, and just know that you’re not alone and your journey to motherhood is gonna be amazing, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now!
Looking forward to your next update, and to just see your journey throughout your pregnancy!

You definitely don't need to be sleeping on your side yet, it's not really needed until late second/third trimester. I made the mistake of sleeping on my side from the beginning and regret it because by 40 weeks your hips are so sore! Make the most of being able to sleep on your back or front!

Watching these has encouraged me to seek mental health support. I’m 25 weeks along with a boy, we have a little girl already and this pregnancy has to my surprise really been a struggle
Mental health wise. It’s came out of nowhere, and I’ve felt so guilty because this pregnancy is everything we could have asked for, yet I am a wreck emotionally. More than just the regular more emotional than normal which I had with my daughter, this time it’s extreme. I’m glad I’ve now asked for help, I don’t feel as bad/ guilty about it already

I’m 11 weeks pregnant today. Thankfully my symptoms haven’t been too bad. I had some nausea and food aversions earlier on but seem to have gone now. Have had acid reflux, bloating and constipation throughout, hopefully it might improve soon. I had very bad exhaustion and dizziness for a couple of weeks earlier on too but thankfully seems to have gone. I’m having some insomnia now and struggling to sleep which is annoying. I was super worried about mental health but thankfully seems okay so far. I’ve struggled with my mental health for the past 10 years and was on medication for 5 years, I stopped taking it last year. I’ve had a few days where I’ve felt down and very emotional but think it’s just the pregnancy hormones and mood swings. I’m keeping a close eye on my mental health. Well done for getting help as it can be really difficult and I hope your symptoms improve soon.

What you described as lighting crotch sounds like my early stage of SPD. It may be worth bringing up with your care team, possibly asking about seeing a physio for support as it can be quite rough to manage.

I was 19 when I had my second, I suffered horribly with depression while I was pregnant with him( even developed agoraphobia) I never told anyone how bad it was because I had another child and I was worried about people taking my other child from me ( irrational I know). Until now I never had heard about other people suffering during pregnancy.
I should note that my 3rd pregnancy this did not happen as badly, nor my first . However with all three of my children (worsening each time). I had post natal depression and it was very bad , I suffered in silence as well out of fear of people thinking I was crazy or taking my children ( depression really takes over rationalization). My children are older now and I feel more comfortable sharing. Glad you are normalizing it .

When I was pregnant my food aversions lasted the whole pregnancy it got better but I couldn’t touch Mayo and saucy foods. Pasta is my fave food but I could t touch it. Same with pizza. Couldn’t eat it. As soon as my daughter was born, my fiancé ordered me a massive dominos and I demolished it. I couldn’t eat a lot towards the end due to how big my baby got so it was nice to eat. I craved fruit all the way through. Apple juice from 5 weeks to all the way through and pineapples and oranges from about 15 weeks to about 10 minutes before she was born!!! I loved this video, thank you so much for sharing ! I'm 25 weeks now and have been having a really rough time too. Especially with intense morning sickness, then when that passed the exhaustion. I too have stubbornly accepted the help from family by allowing them to push me around in a wheelchair etc but have been so frustrated by how poorly I feel like I am dealing with this pregnancy. It's very difficult and draining to be blessed with a beautiful baby but be stuck being sick and feel as though you're unable to enjoy your pregnancy fully. It's so reassuring to see that other women have similar experiences as it is not often spoken about. I hope you feel better soon. I noticed that I am having more good days now as the weeks have gone on but there's still an undercurrent there that catches up with me every now and again 💞.

Glad your nausea is chilling out and you can tolerate food. The travel experience sounds like bad timing with the queen’s death and then feeling poorly during walks. I know you tried to go for your own mental health so way to go on trying and making as many accommodations as possible to be there and participate.
I imagine being reliant on people and down in daily health feelings is triggering some past trauma of forced dependency on your parents and medical support (as well as just more not feeling well). I hope you can sort out your mental health and not have to suffer the whole pregnancy. I know if it’s depression that you can take Zoloft I think for antidep meds. I don’t know if that’s right for you obviously but just info. I also imagine being triggered to old trauma and having nothing to do would exacerbate the problem and give you too much time to focus on it. I would def do anything distracting and try to find some at home fun projects even if it’s crafts. Maybe join a local moms to be group online or in person and sometimes just tune out pregnancy stress and try to just watch a fun movie, do crafts, do some online armchair traveling, or whatever helps distract you. I have chronic pain and know that distraction is key to staying grounded and sane. Sometimes extra rest is detrimental and having to lay around is par for the course so you have to learn to be happy with your time this way for awhile. Luckily it’s temporary and you can daydream about life as a new mum and how you will enjoy that with a baby in tow. Your mental health is really important so I am glad you have a provider for that as well. You are smart so you will have the double edged sword of being painfully aware of things being off but you have the capacity to dig deeply and find distractions and all the support you have been accepting. Great job on attending the group even halfway thru and speaking with the therapist afterwards.
Sometimes you just need to focus on lighter mindless fun things too and just kick back and ride the waves of pregnancy and make the most of the good times and surf the bad (with help). I think you are doing well with all of the challenges posed to you. Keep posting and reaching out for help as and when. Best of luck in the coming days!

  • @TT-_-
    @TT-_- Год назад

That food aversion might as well be a result from the mental health struggle rather than a direct preg symptom. Stress and depression can lower appetite, and anxiety can make you feel physically nauseous.
I struggle with eating whenever I'm more stressed, anxious or depressed than normal. Feels so stupid; when I have a busier time at my very physical job, I eat less. Thankfully I only work part-time, so if a particular week or month is busy, the next week or month will be way quieter. Getting 25 000 steps a day and eating 4 slices of bread and a couple hundred grams of crisps/chips is definitely not good....
Not that eating that same amount on days when laying in bed depressed is good either, but at least it's closer to the needed amount then😂 Despite my struggles with appetite I have weighed pretty much the normal amount whenever I happen upon scales; only when I had just moved from home for the first time I had a surprisingly low number staring at me, and had to consciously force myself to eat even on days when nothing was appealing.
