    The fodder is not the main feed.
    It may replace a significant percentage of the Protein Concentrates since it is a Protein Supplement

    Hello, I when lived 150 miles from Death Valley, California and because of the high summer temperatures I raised corn, sunflower seeds,bean sprouts in a limited amount. I was interested in working with a few of the rarer grass seeds from Africa.i did some limited research with alfalfa and used it as a green chop to mix in to the feed mix.in the fall and winter we raised oats,barely,tricali,winter wheat,wheat,rye we used what was affordable and available locally. We also used the left over fodder and bean seed husks of fava beans to mix in to the feed mix we raised favs beans in the ground as a crop and a cover crop in the winter, we lived to eat black eye bean sprouts and when we had left over black eye pea/bean sprouts we mixed then in to the livestock feed mix the livestock would go crazy for the black eye pea sprouts. Black eye peas love the heat and high temperatures.
    The nice thing for us we where happy feeding the corn because for us it was a fast grower and loved the high temperatures we did grow the corn in morning natural sunlight to early afternoon and we did feed it when it was two to four feet tall.
    We where feed green fodder to cattle,goats,sheep, and poultry. The goats seemed to like the green folder best.
    I had home made containers to grow my fodder in and at the time I wanted to produce a few ton a day. It was very labor intensive. At the time I was thinking about getting a cheap cement mixer brand new for $ 100. Or lesse to soak my seeds in and to be able to drain water and to pour seeds in to the seed beds.
    Regards
    Hope

    • @GrAnDeUrAfRiCa_Hydroponics
      @GrAnDeUrAfRiCa_Hydroponics  4 года назад

      You normally do away with seeds that are broken or not fully formed during soaking. Any chaff or seeds that floats during soaking should be discarded
