How To Grow The Best Wheatgrass - Top Tips for Growing Wheatgrass at Home hippocratesinst... - You can spend as little as $1 per week to grow your own wheatgrass juice at home. All you need is a wheatgrass juicer and growing supplies.
Our goal at Hippocrates is to make following this lifestyle at home as easy as possible; as such, the Hippocrates store has everything you need to begin growing right away, including seeds, planting trays, juicers, hydro-sol growing racks, full spectrum lighting. You can get our "How to Grow Wheatgrasstwo-hour DVD" here: www.hippocrates...
    Growing Basics
    1. Soak your hard winter wheat seed (also called wheat berries) overnight (8 to 12 hours).
    2. Sprout the seed in a jar for the next 16 to 24 hours, rinsing the seed well three times a day.
    3. After a very short “tail” is visible, plant the seed on top of the soil. Basic potting mix or topsoil will work fine. Peat moss is an important ingredient to look for in your soil so if you have to add it, the mix is one part peat moss to three parts soil, filled halfway up a two-inch deep tray.
    4. Water the tray and then cover the seeds to keep them from drying out for the first three days.
    5. During the first three days of growth, water once a day in the morning and really soak the soil (until the tray drips is a good sign you are watering enough). Then lightly mist your seed in the evening (lift cover off to mist seed).
    6. On the fourth day, uncover grass (roots should begin to take over your soil), water heavily once a day and keep the grass in the shade
    (never direct sunlight).
    7. For mold problems, increase your air circulation with a fan or air conditioning to keep the temperature between 60 and 80 degrees
    Fahrenheit (21° to 26° Celsius).
    8. Harvest grass when a second blade of grass appears on the grass blades, or when the grass “splits” toward the bottom of the blade. Average growing time is seven to 12 days, depending on the weather, but still always watch for the second blade of grass as you can never judge by how many days it has been growing or how tall the grass is.
    9. Only harvest once. Cut grass will store in the fridge for about seven to 10 days or longer in Green Bags. Then start the process all over again with new seeds and soil.

This man KNOWS what he's doing. After following his directions to the T, I harvested the sweetest wheatgrass. I made the mistake of adding 1 Apple and 1 whole English cucumber and it was almost too sweet to drink. Next time I'll leave out the apple and make that 2 cucumbers to dilute it more. It has a stevia sweetness when you drink it straight up.
I always assumed it was nasty but boy was I wrong! It is delightful. Your mouth and body will thank you.

I grow my wheatgrass in 10 x10 trays. I use 8oz. of seed per tray. It takes me 12 min. to juice and clean up. It takes 4 min. to water in the mourning. It take 8 min. at night to plant and water at night. I soak the 8oz. of seed for 8 or so hours. That I drain it and wash it twice a day for 3 days. At that time I spread it out on the 10 by 10 tray that has 1/2 inch of potting mix. All trays get watered twice a day. After 7 to 10 days it is cut and juiced. Out of 8oz. of seed I get 6 to 8oz. of juice. So it take 4 min. to water 8min. to water and plant. 12 min. to juice, drink and clean up. I do not drink it right down. I leave it in my mouth for a min. or so it can mix with saliva. So it takes 24 min. a day to do wheatgrass. So if you pay 1 dollar a pound for Organic Read Wheat seed. It costs you about 50 cents for 6 to 8 oz. of fresh Wheatgrass juice I use a Solo Star electric juicer

+Beth Adams My dear Beth.... I am a doctor. I advise you to do three things. 1: eat wheatgrass, dark green leafy veggies, and a host of color veggies but still taking in fats and oils because the most beneficial vitamins are fat-soluable, meaning they must have fat to be absorbed into the body. 2. Find someone selling Limu and start drinking it twice a day and/or get cannabis oil if you can. 3. Seek the One True God, His Son Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit for They are real, and all They want is to pour Their love onto you. Blessings, peace, and health to you Beth. Now claim your healing from God through His miracles and His natural foods

+Beth Adams "Dr. Cody" seems to be somewhat confused, I guess its due to having an imaginary-friend he/she thinks is real, which causes literal mental disorders. "Dr" Cody stated to "eat wheatgrass"[sic] ... WOW...the good pretend "Dr" is delusional. We cannot digest grass as does the cow/horse and so on! Don't listen to the 'make-believe' Dr., he/she is living in the world of make believe where facts are fictional, and fairy-tales are real...like his/her 'holy ghost' character! Don't eat the wheat-grass.

I disagree that you have to grow indoors. I believe it works fine both ways. However, outside whether direct or indirect sunlight I have noticed my wheatgrass comes out with a much greener and full color. The greener, the more chlorophyll. I live not far from the beach in California. Even in the winter in Kansas it will grow fine. I don't have much of a green thumb but it is one of the easiest things you can grow. I have also noticed that when it is grown hydroponically, like at the Jamba juice bars, that it is a lighter color.

I just juiced my 2nd batch of wheatgrass according to Hippocrates instructions, amazing flavor. The 1'st batch grown by other instructions, white mold had grown a lot, plus did use direct sunlight, no fan, grass hardly grew at all, had to throw it out.
I did the hydroponics for both batches.
However, the batch with Hippocrates on juicing day had the same white mold, not as bad, and I noticed these gnat like bugs kept getting into the grass. I'm guessing the trick is to grow and harvest quickly. This time I used a fan and a grow lite big difference.

God bless you guys!!🙂 I’ve been raw vegan for a decade. Although I enjoy juicing celery, kale, spinach, parsley etc., I have never juiced wheatgrass because I have a severe allergy to grass. Therefore I cannot consume & gain the phytonutrient benefits of wheatgrass. Please let me know if this info. is accurate, or whether I’m mistaken (i.e., for my entire life I have not been able to be around “grass” without experiencing watery, itchy eyes; stuffy nose; itchy throat & ears)etc. It was so severe, that when I was younger I got desensitized (i.e., an allergist gave me shots-injections- in order to lessen the severity of my symptoms. It was about 80 percent effective. Therefore, now, I only experience the majority of these symptoms in the spring.......Unfortunately, I am also allergic to trees. Really sad, because I really enjoy nature. Thanks for the video clip. 🙏❤️👍🙂

+anabela2787 www.oceansolution.com/Products-OceanSolution.html this is ocean water that has been balanced to not have too much salt. Ocean water has all the trace minerals that's plants need. Grass like plants seem to absorb more minerals than any other plant. So when you juice wheatgrass grown in ocean solution, it's providing many minerals you're lacking.

In Ann Wigmore's book, she does it differently. She says to use a cafeteria tray or a gravel tray without holes. If you use one with holes you're going to need another tray under it to catch the water. She also didn't sprout it first. I wonder why they do it this way it seems like more work. Can I grow them on my indoor front porch where there are lots of windows, or would that be too much light? I guess that would be direct sunlight. I just have more room there.

I was thinking and hoping the same when I went to check out their website. I wouldn't mind paying a reasonable fee for downloadable vids like this one on how to grow the other sprouts he mentioned.

What do you do with the soil after harvesting and also with the roots

    • @HippocratesWellness
      @HippocratesWellness  4 года назад

hi Kulin! wheatgrass will regrow after cutting, but the nutrients in the second harvest won't be as high as that of the first or sometimes it can have molds. so we do recommend to just harvest once and plant new seeds , make sure to change the soil that you'll be using since it can contain fungi and bacteria that can negatively affect the growth of your second crop and be present in the grass itself when you consume it.

I was wondering are you able to sell wheatgrass to juice bars when it's in soil? I thought having soil in a restaurant was against health code so you would have to grow them hydroponically? I really don't know but trying to find out thanks

I feel like screaming! I grow 8 large trays of grass in 4-tiered greenhouses that have been in both in-direct lighting outdoors and indoors. I grow in light soil with azomite. I water once day since I am in living in the midwest with lots of humility. I am having extreme mold issues that I can't seem to control. It is breaking my heart. I grow for my family of six, and sell locally. I need advise, what could I be doing wrong? I love your institute, thank you for all you do.

***** Seeds that do not sprout tend to mold. Either the
trays were kept too moist or the seeds were planted too close together and
could not breathe. If so, increase air circulation by using a fan or ozone
(oxygen-generating) purifier to reduce mold. If the humidity was too high,
either a fan or a dehumidifier can be useful. Using plastic bags to cover the
seeds and soil for the first three days might cause a problem; if so, try
      growing the sprouts without them.

Hippocrates Health Institute I can't thank you enough, this is all great advice! I have moved my grass indoors and changed my growing routine. I do have a dehumidifier on my trays now and they're lit. I am crossing my fingers. Thank you for your help!

***** a dehumidifier on your trays ok, how? I must do the same thing, but how on my trays?

No not directly on my trays, but close enough to reach what I grow. I only grow 8 large trays at a time. I don't currently have the space for more. I still get mold, regardless of the environmental conditions and quality of the seed. It's a royal bummer, but what do you do!?!

    • @gkoleey3592

***** Buy a "Pressure Sprays" for cleaning in and around your wheatgess. I bought one from amazon.co.uk www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Pressure+Sprayer. Water your wheatgress with "Pressure Sprays" twice a day.
To do so killing every single mold. I promise it's worth a try.
I await your answer with how it has gone to, do not forget it, ok.
Note: You can turn off your dehumidifier, while you do this + you save electricity.
      Thanks

You will get one to two cuttings from each tray.... depending on how tall it is when you do your first cutting. After that you dump it and start all over.

    • @TheOneanjel

that's just 'sprouting', it's not growing and it's not the most nutrient dense. You probably use a blender instead of a juicer too. Yes, I saw the same rookie video. I guess if you have a small space and can't afford to do it right, wrong is better than nothing.
