The police officers were polite, courteous and very professional. During their exchanges with Turner, the police officer demonstrated great tolerance and showed huge self restraint. Turner was not only arrogant and pompous, but tried to intimidate the police officers by using her status, yet despite her hectoring manner and patronising, confrontational attitude, the police officers stood their ground.
I hope that she and the young people she was with learned something from this experience. Even five years later everyone should take this as a lesson to never be so full of yourself that you forget where you came from.
Okay, to play devil's advocate, those cops, after impounding the vehicle, did tell them to call someone to transport them. At that point, the person called was obviously involved in the situation. And, since she was a city employee, it wasn't unreasonable ask her fellow city employees what's going on. The cop had an attitude from the start.

We SAW exactly when "Caren" pulled up her car. The police officer was finishing up, and told the occupants "You're all set, and free to go." Then "Caren" started throwing her weight around even before she understood the situation.
She abuses her power of authority because she is a commissioner. Big freaking deal! She comes across rude, demanding and threatening. She should be fired! She has a nasty attitude, what a disgrace & disappointment to her city. She is a horrible reflection on her department. Shame on her! She wants a break because she knows the mayor. Oh my goodness. Wow! The officers are polite, professional and service-oriented, they're doing job. They're not corrupt! They should be commended for a job well done.

What is, for me, most tragic about this incident is the example she is setting for her children and young people.
Here children have probably already witnessed her treating restaurant personell, hotel workers and others as beneath them. Simply objects to serve their superior selves. Damage is done.

Unless one is caught on cam like this woman was, lying and denying the truth is a way of life and “they” are never at fault. Right now, I have a few more years until I’m eligible to retire and no longer have the energy I once did. I took the time to read all the replies. We, the average person, knows what is happening; the loss of courtesy, respect in every day dealings. Clearly, the "I am entitled to my entitlements" is on full display. Very impressed with the two officers. Excellent work on their part. She is now cleaning rusty nails at the local dump. The internet has her on full view forever.

I think the most important thing to remember is, this woman would of tried to have ruined two police officers livelihood just because her daughter was the one correctly being dealt with by the law. It's not just that she got caught on camera being abusive but it's the danger she would of been if left unchecked.

That’s why it devolved into insults and cursing on her part. She knew she was losing the battle in front of the young people. It was crystal clear by then that she was not the VIP she fancied herself to be.
What a horrible person. There is no excuse for that kind of abusive behavior and certainly no public figure should ever act like that. That woman should have spent the night in jail.
