Yercaud often called as Poor man's ooty becoz the rate of cost is comparatively low than Ooty but rightnow the rate of cost is equal to Ooty rightnow this name is not apt for Yercaud.. Yercaud has it's unique name #KingOfEasternGhats because The Shervarayan Mountain range is the heighest #MountainRange of EsaternGhats also it is located in the heighest elevation of 1623M above the sea level whereas the heighest #peak of esternghats is located in Andhara Jindhagada peak with elevation of 1,690 M.. Note: Sheravarayan range is the heighest mountain range of Esaternghats but jindhagada is heighest peak which is just 67M higher than Yercaud
