For a non-rugby guy, you are very observant and shrewd when it comes to analysing the plays and assessing the mentality of the players. Interesting perspective too, from a supporter of one of the lower-ranked rugby nations. This margin of victory is historic and it was no fluke.
I'm french and of course this game was craaaazy. But I feel a bit sad for England. This is our greatest enemy. Europe needs a great english team. And we don't forget that we were in the same situation as England a few years ago(44-8 in 2019). But for now: Allé les bleus!
This was a legendary match! However, what a surprise to see the English so far below their usual level. As a French fan, I felt bad for them. Let's not sell the skin of the bear before having killed it, the English are able to create the surprise during the next world cup in France. But we will be at home, and we are waiting for them. And not only them!
I wouldn't hold your breath, Erich. This England side are just not a very good team at the moment and this defeat was England's third heaviest in their history. France are ranked No.2 side in the world behind Ireland and they will be host nation at the next Rugby World Cup and they played with a pace and intensity that England could not match in this game. England's tactical kicking was clueless throughout and it lacked variation. Ireland have had the fastest line speed of all the teams in the tournament and they will pounce on any loose kicks and loose passes England cough up and they will roll right over the top of them. You cannot afford to give Ireland any free ball next week in Dublin.
At 6.56 minutes, notice that the kick was made inside the French half and went out in the England 22 (metres, 25 yards in old currency) NOT on the full. In the past, the throw in would have been England's but now, if you kick from your half and the ball hits the ground and goes out in the defender's 22 - the kicker's side gets the throw in. A recent change to the rules, I am told :)
Yes, it's called a 50/22. If you kick the ball undirectly -it has to bounce inside beforehand- from within your 50 to behind the opponent's 22, you get the ball back and get to launch the touch. If the ball goes straight from your 50 to behind the 22, without bouncing inside, it's a scrum to the opponent from where the kick was given. So yeah, that was a superb kick.
Even if I am French, I have a thought for England. Without our best friends, we cannot play at our top. We need England to be a better and the best team. Couple of years ago, France lost 50+ to 10 angaints the black. Rugby is a cycle, as said the UK coach : "Now the know the gap between us and best teams in the world. France is the second one, and next week we face the 1st... Ireland".
Not sure what they're thinking leaving out scores from the highlight videos, they already leave out great defensive moments and point scoring kicks but if they're ignoring tries now what chance do those moments have.
You can see French's 4th try on French TV highlights...British TV erased it, finding it probably too ashaming...otherwise, I do f...enjoy your comments, being French but fluent american! Keep on groovin'that way!
I live in the UK but I don't like the style of play England use I like the french style of play it's so flamboyant and quick. It was a bad day for England but who knows England might beat France this time?

Kicking is tactical, some times are terrible under high balls and so the opposition uses it to their benefit. The Springboks won the world cup using high balls and fast balls.
As the french guy, I loved this game. But this kinda game is pure singularity. Everything went totally perfect for us (luck, ref decisions, rebounds and so on) and everything went totally wrong for our best ennemies. I hope English don't get too low because of the scoreboard, and I hope my beloved team don't get over confident about this game. This things happen in sport. (remember the Atlanta falcon's in their last Superbowl). The only thing we can be sure after this game, is that Antoine Dupont might be one of the best rugby player in history.
As a french who watched it with 20 friends, this was just amazing. The team was fire and poor english players couldn't do anything. Hope they'll be better for the WC, but we'll still crush them for the title !
i was there ( i'm French ) ... great victory, of course, then 2 strange things happened: 1st time i saw most of the british supporters going out of the stadium 10 minutes before the end. 2nd is more personal: an english supporter went to Dupont before the match to have one photo signed. this guy was so disgusted that he gave me this signed photo before exiting.. still have it, of course!!
It was embarrassing watching this as an england fan to lose by 40 points at twickenham is unacceptable, a big wake up call. People on here forgetting Ireland they are on fire have strength and depth in every position. And they made france look average at best earned that world number 1 spot for sure.
you can have a watch to the interview of genge after the game. he has been brutally honest on the england performance ... they got spanked big style ... Also Ramos in the after game interview: " that´s what happens when everybody respects the game plan and all works according to plan" ... just missing a cigar ...
First try - the English were kicking the ball away - again. The previous coach for England, an Aussie, really didn't develop the English game. They are still playing the game circa 20 years ago. I'm Welsh but the French have always played a very fast game. The English game is kicking and slow turn around at the ruck. Been like that always.
Heu... ça nous a fait bien fait plaisir :p Ramos, the scorer, is a rather frightening metronome of success. He doesn't miss anything regardless of distance or angle, even against the wind he often succeeds. I recognize that between Dupont, Ramos,Flament and a few others, the current French team is a monster, very physical, fast and skillful. In addition, there is the intelligence of the game. The poor English were literally dynamited... in their own homes. It seems to me that after this match, there were big changes and quite a bit of pain. Losing is one thing but losing at home, in this way, by France, their hereditary enemy.... It didn't happen at all. The humiliation is beyond rugby in my opinion. Um... that made us really happy :p
Dude, what your saying about kicking @ 7:40 is spot on. To win the game you need two things: a. Possession (of the ball) and b. Territory. Can't score if the game is being played by your touch line.. you need to play in the opposition's half. That kick right there, yes, France did give the ball away, cause it's England's throw in at the line out - but look at where that line out is.. look how much field they gained. Now if they just kicked it into the hands of the opposition's full back, no.,15, then Yes.. what a waist. But this is a superb kick, moved the game way back into the danger zone for England. @ Half time: "You talking to the wrong guy.. You need to go back to the locker room and talk to everyone whose wearing the same colour jersey as you..." hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh my fakn soul... damn that's funny.
As a French viewer I was of course proud our team defeating our best enemy especially in such manner However by the end of it I actually felt sad for the English team Watching all these people leaving the stadium before even the end of the match was heart breaking Imagine your guys fighting on the field, already demoralized because none of what they try is working despite their best efforts It happens, you can't win them all But seeing your supposed supporters leaving you in the mud when you need them the most is the proverbial nail in the coffin really I hope the English team will learn from this defeat and come back stronger They can be proud to have fought the battle and have lost with dignity and grace No shame in being outmatched, you win some, you lose some, there will always be someone better But those ungrateful supporters however should be ashamed!
Hello from france ! This french team is the best team that france ever had. Only ireland can compet at the moment.. We''ll this at the world cup if we can keep it up 😮

"Sorry, good game..."😂🇫🇷
For a non-rugby guy, you are very observant and shrewd when it comes to analysing the plays and assessing the mentality of the players. Interesting perspective too, from a supporter of one of the lower-ranked rugby nations. This margin of victory is historic and it was no fluke.
Some real top drawer ball handling from France there!
Quel match incroyable bravo au XV de France allez les bleus🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵
France is terrific.
I'm french and of course this game was craaaazy. But I feel a bit sad for England. This is our greatest enemy.
Europe needs a great english team.
And we don't forget that we were in the same situation as England a few years ago(44-8 in 2019).
But for now:
This was a legendary match! However, what a surprise to see the English so far below their usual level. As a French fan, I felt bad for them. Let's not sell the skin of the bear before having killed it, the English are able to create the surprise during the next world cup in France. But we will be at home, and we are waiting for them. And not only them!
As a welsh person I loved watching this
As a french I enjoyed the welsh resistance in Paris. Your team has still a lot to show.
4 years ago, same place, same teams, 44-8 for England. It's crazy how much things change in 4 years isn't it ?
not exactly the same teams, French team has been largely renewed
@@mathieuguigue8065 I meant it as "England vs France"
That's the beauty of the sport
You gotta think a defeat like that at home against France of all teams is gonna be the wake up call England needs.
or the final nail to the coffin (it's a french expression, I don't know if it exist too in english ^^ )
Imagine that: in France, mainstream medias are still covering soccer like crazy, barely talking about our rugby team.....🤦♂
I mean, Rugby or Football France will give a beating to England.
Rugby has Laws not rules and it's an adaption of the Rugby League 40/20 kick
Yes, it's called a 50/22. If you kick the ball undirectly -it has to bounce inside beforehand- from within your 50 to behind the opponent's 22, you get the ball back and get to launch the touch.
If the ball goes straight from your 50 to behind the 22, without bouncing inside, it's a scrum to the opponent from where the kick was given.
So yeah, that was a superb kick.
@@Pandemonis Line out in union scrum in league
Even if I am French, I have a thought for England. Without our best friends, we cannot play at our top. We need England to be a better and the best team. Couple of years ago, France lost 50+ to 10 angaints the black. Rugby is a cycle, as said the UK coach : "Now the know the gap between us and best teams in the world. France is the second one, and next week we face the 1st... Ireland".
"Cache ta joie" anglo-saxon des USA 🤣🤣🤣 FRANCE !💪
Not sure what they're thinking leaving out scores from the highlight videos, they already leave out great defensive moments and point scoring kicks but if they're ignoring tries now what chance do those moments have.
Too many highlights in this game! They had to pick and choose 😂😂
@7 minutes, you can see dupont can kick with both legs wich is a great advantage for a 9
Actualy we have the best France team of all time.
You can see French's 4th try on French TV highlights...British TV erased it, finding it probably too ashaming...otherwise, I do f...enjoy your comments, being French but fluent american! Keep on groovin'that way!
Love your comment on the discussion between England captain and the referee !!! 😅
I agree with your kicking statement brother
Very good match indeed 😂 good contest hahaha
Cheers from France 😘
This was no contest, mon ami! This was one of the most one-sided matches I have seen in the 50-odd years I've been watching rugby!
@@colindouglas7769 obviously 😄 I was just trolling the host of the channel a little.
You'll be back I've no doubt about it.
"both teams are playing like I wanna win this game"
What else do tou expect, man? It's the "crunch" !!
And England were "Le Crunched" !!
The most spectacular french try isn't in this video ooooooooohhhh !? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
yes just why ?
The most spectacular one was the last one !
@@Prawly_ rapidité, cohésion, precision, i agree, le plus beau was the last
France only stay less than 2min,with possession in the English 22 and they scored 53 point...
As a french who watched it with 20 friends, this was just amazing. The team was fire and poor english players couldn't do anything. Hope they'll be better for the WC, but we'll still crush them for the title !
Thank you for your reaction Bro' !
i was there ( i'm French ) ... great victory, of course, then 2 strange things happened: 1st time i saw most of the british supporters going out of the stadium 10 minutes before the end.
You should give SquidgeRugby's recent video on kicking a watch. Makes those kicks that don't make sense quite often start to make sense.
Maybe the English half-backs should watch it, mate, because it looks like they don't have a clue what they're trying to do.
"They woopin' your a**!"😂
You killed me!💪
#FRANCE was to strong for this english team tonite....magnificient brillant last try ! French flair is back
Everything looked so simple for the french. Great game !!!
It's nice to see we made a comeback in the second half, even though there was nothing to come back from.
Loved your reaction ^^
Guess what, 15 minutes before the end of the game, english fans just quit the stadium...
Historical humiliation for England !
you can have a watch to the interview of genge after the game. he has been brutally honest on the england performance ... they got spanked big style ...
Also Ramos in the after game interview: " that´s what happens when everybody respects the game plan and all works according to plan" ... just missing a cigar ...
France fans : "on est chez nous" (we are in our house, we are at home...word by word) is simply magnificient and historic for many years at Twickenham
18:37 the dude scampering for... I dont know what to say about that lol.
Look at the summary with the comments in French (French television) and you will have all the actions 👌
Ramos, the scorer, is a rather frightening metronome of success.
Merci !!!
That ruck try ruling is correct once the ball rolls back over the line the ruck is over
Hello Sean, nice vid thx u, love the style...What is your prediction for the next WRC ? i rang or rung ( i never know) the bell & liked too ;)
Dude, what your saying about kicking @ 7:40 is spot on.
You need to go back to the locker room and talk to everyone whose wearing the same colour jersey as you..."
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh my fakn soul... damn that's funny.
Je suis français et je te suis. Bravo
19:00 Sad????? No! The contrary! Sorry i'm french....
On est chez nous à Twickenham !
Vive la France, vive les bleus 🇫🇷🇫🇷
Maybe we will won the World Cup
That was beautiful to watch. However GB will be back stronger, this is the beauty of sport.
The world cup is going to be amazing!
Imagine a team in international rugby not wanting to win 😂
Merci !!!😀❤
the " French Flair " at its best
oui Monsieur
Rien à rajouter 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
As a French viewer I was of course proud our team defeating our best enemy especially in such manner
However by the end of it I actually felt sad for the English team
Watching all these people leaving the stadium before even the end of the match was heart breaking
Imagine your guys fighting on the field, already demoralized because none of what they try is working despite their best efforts
It happens, you can't win them all
But seeing your supposed supporters leaving you in the mud when you need them the most is the proverbial nail in the coffin really
I hope the English team will learn from this defeat and come back stronger
They can be proud to have fought the battle and have lost with dignity and grace
No shame in being outmatched, you win some, you lose some, there will always be someone better
But those ungrateful supporters however should be ashamed!
Hello from france ! This french team is the best team that france ever had. Only ireland can compet at the moment..
We''ll this at the world cup if we can keep it up 😮
I agree totally with you. England just gave up. No wonder so many English supporters left early. You should watch RugbyPass's spectator interviews after the match. One Frenchman basically said "we f*cked them and they liked it" 🤣🤣🤣
Not exactly. The French are more subtle than that, more romantic. They said "We made love to them and they loved ti"!
@@chamuelolivier1594 He did used the f-word at first but changed it to made love after the interviewer prompted him lol.
That's the game. Everyone has a part of French in them. Good video !
English commentator saying scrum is even at 40' immediately before France drive straight over the top of them, hilarious.
