*I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE MUSIC IN MY VIDEO!*
They also play continuously for 40 minutes each half. None of this stopping every three minutes.
Everyone thinks they're tough until the rugby lads start tackling
Ye we don’t wear body armour and helmets like they do in nfl haha
@@weekendoffenderr do bum eachother though
I played 18 years. I only suffered a broken femur and CTE lol Loved every minute of it. Its for men NOT boys. Football is a watered-down version of rugby.
Rugby fans are a watered-down version of football fans.
@@EveryTongueShallTellwhat, in that we are more respectful, better people in general and don't throw a hissy fit if our team loses? There's a long standing tradition of going out drinking with the opposing team and their fans. Football doesn't do that cos the fans just aren't there for it mentally...
@@oliverperryman7953 Lots of rugby fans are posh cunts.
@@oliverperryman7953 Lots of rugby fans are posh cunts.
@EveryTongueShallTell okay?? Tf? Most are working class people like you and I, who gives a fuck if rich people watch the sport too 💀💀
Rugby players wear their injuries like a badge of honor.
The "head gear" isnt really a helmet haha its called a scrum cap and it is to help cauliflower ear but thats about it. Also theres a lot more stamina involved in rugby compared to football as its a 80 minute game wirh no stops (save a 15 min halftime)
WHAT? its a helmet even if its called a scrum cap you fool
A real man’s game founded at ‘Rugby’ school
For gentlemen. No suits of armour for us!
Some basic Rules: no forward passes unless kicked forward, no high tackles, yellow cards = 10 minutes time out, conversion time = 30 seconds, no collapsing scrums, no knockons (ball is dropped and bounces forward and is catched), have to release in a ruck, have to roll over in a ruck, offside rule, not allowed to push the ball out if it is on your own try line, penalties (don’t know most of them), rolling subs for injuries only, 23 players with 8 subs and starting XV.
NZ All Black Sir Wayne "Buck" Shelford will always a a rugby football legend for the 1986 injury he sustained in a match against France, while still an amateur player (no sponsorship or endorsements) 20mins into the match he was involved in a very aggressive maul where he lost 4 teeth and a french players boot tore open his scrotum leaving his testicle exposed. He calmly left the field, asked the team doc to stitch him up and he went back on the field to play. Now that's hard core 🤘🤘
We breed 'em tough in NZ
Remember tonight is the final of the Rugby World Cup in France. In South Africa we are waiting for the cup to come home. Springboks!! 💗💗💗💗💗💗
If it came home it would come to England, where the game originated and was played for hundreds of years.
Go bokke
@@dee2251doesn’t that make it even worse? 😅😂 Imagine introducing a sport to the countries you colonized and they end up playing better than you…
@@jamielee240292 you’re forgetting, we have won the World Cup and come pretty close to winning on a number of occasions. We also don’t play dirty like the original rules of rugby we invented state, unlike SA.
@@dee2251 Yes, you did 20 years ago exactly this year. Easiest pool this year too, even I was worried and thought they’d be the freshest going into the semi’s. Hell, I was even waiting for a drop goal attempt closer to the end, but nothing. And of course you’d say SA is “playing dirty”, but I’m pretty sure everyone plays according to those rules you mentioned, including England; we all watched the game. We’ve seen bad calls towards us during this WC too, but the game doesn’t stop because of it. Evolve with the game and get out of that mindset of “we invented it, it’s ours” because England shared it with everyone and everyone else is running with it.
I remember playing Rugby at school during PE and at one point had two opposition players hanging on (one to each leg) to me and I was still moving forward. Conversely I tried a friendly muckabout game of American Football and managed to break the arm of an opposition player without touching them, it was (I think) a Lineout and the opposition player to my left was a big & beefy guy, who I bounced out of my way, this resulted on him falling on the poor chap next to him who ended up with a broken arm.
You can't drop it forward. He kicked it before he went out. You need kicking skills in Rugby.
Sheesh 🔥
Yeah if you 'fumble' and rehandle the ball its called a 'knock-on'. You can kick it foward, which is commenly known as a 'grubber kick' but you can't handle the ball again with your hands untill it passes the try line (known as the end zone in American football). Then the player, the ball and the ground have to be in contact in the 'end zone' (passed the Try line) to score a 'Try'.
@@Clyde__FrogBut if the ball is dropped backwards from the hands it's a knock back which is play on if recovered.
Rugby is the definition of “if he dies he dies”
Springboks (South Africa bringing the world cup home 🏆🇿🇦💪💚 NZL vs South Africa. All blacks and South Africa had always a good respectful and good relationship towards each other... All Blacks played well but South Africa 🏆
Rugby is a complex sport here are most of the rules:
Team and Players:
Two teams with 15 players each.
Positions include forwards and backs, each with specific roles.
Object of the Game:
Score points by carrying the ball over the opponent's try line or kicking it through the opponent's goalposts.
Scoring:
Try: 5 points for carrying the ball across the opponent's try line.
Conversion: 2 points for kicking the ball through the goalposts after a try.
Penalty Goal: 3 points for kicking the ball through the goalposts after a penalty.
Drop Goal: 3 points for kicking the ball through the goalposts during open play.
Game Structure:
The game is divided into two halves, each typically lasting 40 minutes.
Play is continuous, with no forward passes allowed.
Tackling and Ball Handling:
Tackles must be below the shoulders.
Players can pass the ball backward to teammates.
The ball can be kicked, carried, or passed to advance it.
Scrum:
A method of restarting play after minor infringements.
Forwards from both teams bind together to contest the ball.
Lineout:
A method of restarting play after the ball goes out of bounds.
Rucks and Mauls:
Occur when players are on their feet and contesting for the ball.
Offside Rule:
Players must be behind the last foot of the ruck, maul, or tackle area.
Penalties:
Awarded for rule violations.
A team can choose to kick for goal, kick for touch, or take a scrum.
Yellow and Red Cards:
Yellow cards are shown for serious rule violations, leading to a player's temporary suspension.
Red cards result in a player's ejection from the game.
These are the fundamental rules of Rugby Union. Variations exist in Rugby League and other forms of rugby, so it's essential to be aware of the specific rules for the version of rugby you're interested in.
To clear up the early confusion in the clip when the big dude in red looked like he dropped the ball then scored? You can’t drop the ball. If you watch closely, he kicked the ball to keep it alive, then scored the try (touchdown except you must ground the ball). I love seeing Americans watching and appreciating our sport, as much as love yours ❤
Countries were Rugby is BIG - New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy-ish,
Now you know why rugby players have a saying, "Soccer is for girls, football for boys and rugby for men😂 Cheers! What I love about it is that you play people from literally all over the world! 😎🤙🤙
Ok @3:05 the rules of Rugby are that the ball can not be passed forwards, that includes what is called a knock-on where a player lets go of the ball and then catchess it themselves further forward than when they let go of it, but you areee allowed to kick it forwards then catch it yourself.. and that is what this beautiful MoFo did right there to save the ball from going out of bounds ;)
A lovely bit of quick thinking
Oh, and at 6:01, you missed how impressive that was, because to score a "try" (a "touchdown" in American Football) you must not only cross the line but also touch the ball to the ground, and that guy there touched the ball down while upside down lol
3:05 to explain this, in Rugby you can't touch the line or you're considered out and he then taps the ball to keep it play since he knew he was going to go out and then scores by placing the ball down. If the ball hit the ground instead of him kicking it it would have been a knock on and the other team would be given a free kick and if you dont solidly place the ball down when you go for a try (scoring) again its considered a knock on. Player played that amazingly well.
I played during 30 years and i continue . Just a noze break and minor's injuries . We are prepared for that , no need any gears or helmets , the human body can support a massive intensity and many shoks . American football is different but i love it too . Mic , a rugby player and coach from France .
You Americans are so funny - the sound of your jaws dropping!
It’s big in South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and England it’s also similar to European football or soccer in the sense that even though people might be born in one country like South Africa often times many of the people from their support other countries like New Zealand has a lot of South African supporters
3:05 in rugby once you drop the ball you can’t pick it back up unless you kicked it, if you look closely, the players foot made contact with the ball, so the ball is still his.
Pacific Islanders teams in particular are very large and when playing for a London-based amateur team during university I got steamrolled by this big AF Fijian player. Guy was like a freight train.
That video was light half the stuff I have seen in rugby games can make a grown man cry I seen a game where there was just blood everywhere players with shattered cheek bones bleeding eyes the action in rugby gose crazy sometimes
And lest not forget the wrong direction ankle
Yap you're right
Maybe if that is what turns you on, but you cannot get away with it these days. If you punch someone in the head with full intent, you will get a red card, and your own team-mates will think you are crazy for doing it.
Maybe you must watch Brutal Rugby Red cards, rugby fights, the rules of Rugby union, then The Rugby World Cup playoffs on Friday and the Final in Saturday. You have 3 days left 😅
The most brutal sport is Calcio Storico in Florence, it’s literally a gladiator fight mixed with rugby, unfortunately recently they banned swords but it’s still incredible. You should look it up, you’ll love it
I'll see your Calcio Storico and raise you an Atherstone Ball Game.
1 rule. No murdering.
A proper man's sport no padding
Rugby is not that brutal the way you tackle your fine… been starting safety in ruby for 8 years now and only got hurt once. Played football my whole life got hurt more playing football because the pads make you just fling your body into people. With rugby you have better form so less injury
The head band as yous call it is actually called a headgear to protect the ears
@4:16, that is Duhan Van Der Werwe playing for Scotland v England. Actually South African. but glad to have him playing for Scotland. I'm Scottish in case you haven't guessed. I played rugby once. Only once!
Played from when I was 7 to 20. Broken sternum, multiple ribs, dislocated fingers a few times, had to get knee surgery, broke nose in three places and had a broken collarbone over the years. Loved it but school and club rugby in Australia is far from the "gentleman game". I occasionally think about going back to playing in my 30s in some suburban masters age league but nah, hurts just to think about.
lol in england we have Gypsy fights AKA Tyson fury who before been the world champion was a street fighter.
started playing rugby when i was 6 played untill i was 26 semi-pro then came off a motobike had spiral fracture, but ive seen it all (theeth gone, ears ripped off,arms/legs twisted in wrong way, eyes poped out list goes on 🤣 my time i lost 5 theeth over my years, had a dude Bite my ankle once and curb stomped him out... i do miss it.
You cant drop or pass the ball forward in rugby (if you get lucky and you drop it straight down.....its ok if it goes/bounces backwards)........you can kick the ball forward however.
So that crazy try the guy scored where hes dropped the ball near the line....he kicked it with his foot forward before it bounced, perfectly fine.
If he didnt touch it with his foot before the ball hit the floor, he couldn't of legally picked the ball back up.
He also did amazingly well to not touch the line with the ball in hand....which if the ball's in your possesion and you touch the line in anyway...it counts as the ball being out.
It’s an English sport, popular in England’s ex colonies like Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. And England of course.
2:00 & 3:32 is the Australian NRL/Rugby league State of origin NOT RUGBY UNION.
Hey fellas! you have your own International Team, "The American Eagles" support them and maybe they'll fly!!
I will not comply
Played prop no 3 you be surprised how much fun a good tackle is oh and night's out after a game can be wild if things kick off
As I know rugby there is not one player with a full set of teeth. They all have bent noses too. ❤️🇬🇧
I broke my nose in three places playing high school rugby. Had to get it surgically reset (basically knocked out then they jam two steel rods up the nose and straighten it by hand). The surgeon was an ex-Wallaby and he joked he was just knocking me out because I was 14 but over his career he'd reset his teammates noses after games without anesthesia. I had two black eyes the next day and very bruised cheeks.
If you want to see big hits then check out rugby league state of origin Australia, New South Wales against Queensland big hits sold out crowds in a 3 game series
bro at my school someone broke their wrist while trying to go straight in rugby (i go to tauranga intermediet)
A legal tackle is anything below the shoulders and above the waist, one on one (usually)...
That double guillotine tackle, top and bottom was highly illegal and very dangerous.
The tackle where the guy got a shoulder to the head, also an illegal tackle.
When you consider the average weight of a rugby player without pads is anywhere from 218kg to 260kg and moving at anywhere from 10m per second (sometimes over 11m per second), that gives you an impact force of about 22g's?
Usain Bolt's world record 100m time puts him at about 10.43 metres per second.... But then he didn't have a ball to carry and worry about incoming wrestlers trying to get it off him....
3.07 if he touched the ball and it goes forward and fall to the ground the balls out of play but he kicked the ball at this moment. So the ball is in play and he can picked it up for a try.
It’s not helmets lmao it’s a scum cap and it’s to help you with cauliflower ear and to stop your ear getting ripped off
Look at the video Russell Crowe just released that is a short explanation of the rules for Rugby League in preparation for the two National Rugby League (NRL) matches that will be played in Vegas on 2nd March. They will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 Channel. One of the teams going to Vegas is Crowe’s team (he owns it) the South Sydney Rabbitohs. The Bunnies have won 21 Premierships since the competition started in 1908. No other team in the competition comes anywhere near that total. Rugby League is different to Rugby Union. ruclips.net/video/6JPPzTnUZz4/видео.htmlsi=Wj4JNNKKzB68HKav
It's not a helmet It's called a skullcap more or less used to prevent cauliflower ears which is part and parcel of the game depending on your position and doe's little if anything to prevent head injuries.
Rugby is my love language ❤
the most brutal sport in the world was saved by the most Sexiest woman in the world Tina.
“In the late 80s, rugby league - and Australia, was a very different place.
The sport of rugby league was far from the multimillion dollar behemoth it is today.
Still known as the NSWRL and dripping with tobacco advertising, the game realised that it needed a revamp to attract a new audience in the face of the growing threat from the south, the expanding VFL.

It's amusing that the only Polynesian people Americans seem to know are either Hawaiian or Samoan. Hawaiians don't play Rugby at this level - but Samoan, Tongan, and Māori (Aotearoa New Zealand) do.
You could get isekai'd because these boys hits harder than truck-kun😳😳😳
Rugby is impressive, oh yeah. However quite a few of those tackles were illegal as hell. Cant just charge into someone with your shoulder, as you would in hockey. Any contact with the head or neck is strictly punished often by a dismissal for the rest of the match(red card) and probably even further suspension, unless there are mitigating circumstances, where you might get away with a yellow (10minutes on the sideline). Finally you cant pass forward by hand and that includes even when you drop the ball and pick it up again...
I have a suggestion for you, please watch irish gaelic football it's class. And also irish hurling I think you'll enjoy both😊

I used to play Football (not handegg) and Rugby and sometimes i'd forget which is which, got reds a couple of time because of it.
That ball hit his feet so its ok! If he drops it infront of him without a leg then its a knock on and its not a try.

So in rugby you cannot tackle above the shoulders, no tackling while in the air, no tackling of a player that does not have the ball in their hands. Rugby players are taught to properly tackle from a young age. NFL players actually have a higher rate of suffering from a concussion than rugby players.
