  • @kingz_meko7531
    @kingz_meko7531 3 года назад +40

    Rugby has more behind it then just grown men and women smashing each other ever few minutes. Like one of you's said "How do you get past that?" Somewhere along the lines of that, Rugby isn't a one skill sport, you need to have multiple skills and mastery over a various amount of expertise, for example: Kicking, passing, stepping etc. You must posses a lot of stamina as well, full 40 min halves with non-stop plays (unless a penalty or something like that happens, but that doesn't last long) running back in forth, throwing yourself into tackles, or putting yourself against a ball carrier, running miles across the field, thinking about whats coming next while in play, its very stressful. Yet so fun. Getting pass the defensive line, varies in many different ways. You could be big and strong and just power through them all, but that could only get you so far, unless you're Jonah Lomu or some beast like him. You could find holes in the defence, and run through them, or get one of your players into that hole by passing it to him/her. Stepping, requires a lot skill, you got to know when to step, how to step and the amount of power you put into the step to push of you're foot and speed through. Although, sometimes, Rugby players have a good mindset, and can read you're steps. Mixing up the defence is common in both Rugby and League, doing amazingly confusing plays that even gets the crowd confused happens. A lot of work and intellect go into those plays, these can allow holes to open in the defence to again, put yourself or a teammate through. There are so many ways to break the defence line in Rugby and League. The best thing about it, is that it doesn't matter what size you are. Size literally doesn't matter in this sport. You could be the smallest in the whole game and you can hit the biggest players. I mean, ask Fef De Klerk "The Giant Slayer", it requires good technique, skill and timing, but literally, you can hit ANYBODY, not matter the size difference.

    • @fiatstilo3
      @fiatstilo3 3 года назад

      Good post. Important to point out that the game is very nuanced. Requires a wide range of skills and technique in the tackle is essential. The reason that there is surprisingly few injuries, is because players are taught technique in the tackle. Tackle rules also very important. Must not tackle above the shoulder, must use arms in the tackle, if you lift a player, you are responsible for bringing him or her down safely. No pads=pain, so need to get right.

    There is a format of the game where 7 players a side is played. Usual format there are 15 players each team with 8 forwards and 7 backs. Each player has a positions they play. In the forwards who take part in the scrum there are Props, Flankers and Number 8 and Srum Half.

    Enjoyed this. It’s great to see you guys take an interest. Rugby players vary in size between around 180 pounds and 280 pounds (with exceptions outside this range). Skill level of players differs by position, but generally it is high. Because of no padding, it means that players need to get the contact area right to avoid injury. There are surprisingly few serious injuries and I’ve played with guys who are in their 50s. Once you stop, very difficult to get back into. Worth pointing out, that generally the spirit between opposition players and fans is very inclusive. Never any lasting animosity and everyone has a beer and a chat after the game. Rugby referees are also highly respected by players and fans. What they say goes, no arguments.

    Two formats of rugby you have the 15 a side and a 7 a side version. The 15 a side is what we can say the classic version or the main version of the sport. It is played for 80 minutes for 40 minutes each half. The 7 a side format is played for 14 minutes with 7 minutes each half. 7's is fast and explosive and this format is played in the Olympics.

    Fun fact, less serious injuries and less fatalities than American football. When you get big pads involved and helmets, it's no longer skin on skin. Just like in boxing. When they made the rule you had to were gloves many more people died. You could cause far more damage with a gloved fist because if you hit a guy hard enough on the jaw to knock him over without a glove you'd have a broken hand.

    Guys, Rugby is 15 players per team and the abbreviated code is 7 players each in which FIJI is the Olympic Champion.
    REact to some Fijian Rugby Players like JOSUA TUISOVA, SEMI RADRADRA, JERRY TUWAI OR LEVANI BOTIA and some Pacific Island players. Google the rugby rules. passes are always backward or lateral but never forward.
    Watch the Fijian Team in Sevens (HONG KONG 2015-2021) They have won it 6 years in a row. Fiji 7s Rugby Team is like the Brazil Team in soccer. They are entertaining and a lot of razzle dazzle. HAPPY REACTING

    Wikipedia tells you it's 15 players per side - and you continue to say it's 7.... The TEAM is likely 23+ people strong, 15 players PER SIDE!

  • @teela-bellz
    @teela-bellz 2 года назад

    UGH!
    Rugby = 15 players a side
    Rugby League = 13 players a side
    Rugby Sevens = 7 a side
    NO pads, no helmet, no breaks, no changing between offense and defense teams. Straight playing for 80 minutes.
    Average player height - 6' 4"
    Average weight - 105 kg of mean muscle mass
    Unlike in every other sporting code where players fake and exaggerate their injuries, these players continue playing DESPITE their injuries. MANY have continued playing with broken bones.
    OF COURSE there are RULES!!! OF COURSE players know what they "signed up for". Rugby, League, and 7's players have done so since 5 years old and are field hardened by the time they become professional.
    They practice, train, workout at least 2x per week, and play either Saturday or Sunday EVERY week. Professional is different.

    To understand the mentality in rugby, when I was in junior (age 18-19) I had a match, I was hit in the head and I took a little "vacation" from the game, 1-2 minutes, the doctor came to me and he gave me water (if you don't understand, WATER :)) ) to drink and from the side of the field the coach shouted at me "Theo, get up and play ( like , get up and play or i break your legs) ", and I got up and continued the game. Apart from the fact that rugby builds and strengthens you, you are mentally prepared as a child. Personally, when I played rugby, I didn't have sex (of any kind :)), 2-3 days before the match, and all that energy was on the field. This is usually the case with rugby players. Imagine all the energy accumulated before the match, all the testosterone and adrenaline in the field. You didn't feel much that day, no pain, nothing. The next day you started to feel something, but will pass ... we are mens. And without any disrespect, in my opinion, that's why NFL players are athletes and RUGBY players are warriors.

    The U.S American football is like child's play compared to Rugby, absolutely no doubt about it, I'm not dissing American football just stating facts, I actualy enjoy American Football but this isn't a child's game so why all the protective gear, Any Rugby Team in the 6 nations would whoop any team who plays American football, I know there different games but practily the same except Rugby your body is your protection.

    If you ask to see "Biggest Hits" rugby can give it to you but you should know most of these hits are illegal.
    You don't see the Refs stopping the game and kicking the 'bad guy' off the field and his team play shorthanded.
    That part isn't a "BIG HIT". It's not what it's about.
    Watching that big guy walk off the pitch with his tail between his legs doesn't get a lot of views on RUclips.

    Rugby 15’s is a 80 mins game.40 mins a half.8 forwards and 7 backs.So they’re all in there playing together,forwards tackling backs and backs smashing forwards until someone is injured or a replacement is sent in from the reserve bench.The forwards are the big bulky ugly ones unless if u’re playing Fiji than they all built and look like forwards and all with sonic boom speed shoes haha.Thing is no one wants to get subbed and smashing each other is what it’s all about.There is 1 referee and 2 tough judges on the side lines monitoring the lines.Referee is addressed as Sir.It’s a good team game.The wingers are #11 & #14 who are the fastest,they just take the ball and run lol #12 & #13 are like the forwards in the back line who smash up the field to create space for the fullback at #15 to give to the speedy wingers.It’s a easy game to understand and even better to play.Am Fijian and been playing rugby before I attended preschool,it’s a beautiful sport and glad you guys are touching onto it & spreading awareness and love for the game.
    Rugby 7s is a 7mins per half game of obviously 7 players.Finals is 10mins per half and a sport in the Olympic Games with the Harlem Globe trotters of Rugby 7’s the current Champs & in both codes,tackling above the shoulder is illegal & wrap arms around the person u’re tackling and of course below the shoulder and when lifting and tackling someone their shoulder,head etc shouldn’t be driven or dropped onto the ground.

    We start playing like this from 5 year old. By the time you are 16 you are proficient enough to play balls to the wall. At 35 you are considered lucky to still play. At 45 it's a miracle. Your knees and shoulders just don't last.
    In my prime I weighed 240lbs and stood 6ft tall. I was considered too small.

    The secret to our Rugby is..Never go near a player until you hear it speak!..Beware of the players who have clearly been strategically shaved all over for the occasion!..If it's got fangs hanging out of it's mouth, dont go near it!..If it comes at you with it's knuckles on the ground..Avoid it at all cost!. You can always pick a Rugby player..We've all got bent noses and no front teeth!

    No time outs , no tackles above neck or bellow knees. 2 Half's 45 mins no stopping, continuous play. Played at mos schools in the UK. These guys you watched were 250 - 300 lbs ALL can do 100 yards in less than 12 seconds, some 280lb men can hit100yds in 11 seconds dead. And keep it up for 45 minutes. Instead of ads they use muscle.
