It’s “normal” to only date within your race, not to say there’s anything wrong with dating outside of it, but I’m pretty certain there’s been plenty of research done that says that couples are just much more common when they’re the same race/culture. And if you think about it makes sense, if you share a similar racial/cultural background there’s a pretty good chance you’ll have a lot of the same upbringing and values, so you just mesh a lot better. Don’t let people who get ultra offended at everything ruin what should be a common sense issue, by all means do as you like but don’t destroy people fro wanting to date those that they relate to more, no matter the race/culture.

I totally agree! I grew up surrounded by pretty much only white Swedish girls. All of my girlfriends throughout school and early 20s were pretty much blonde white girls, because I found them the most attractive. Couldn't even imagine myself dating a non blonde/white girl.
5 years ago I met a half Swedish, half Asian girl.. and I just fell instantly in love. Never dated, or even had Asian friends before, but something just clicked. She has long black hair and looks nothing like the girls I always found the most attractive.. but now I can't even imagine myself dating anyone else

As someone outside of America, i cant see how any of the questions are bait questions. Different races have different cultures hence will have different values and upbringing. There's plenty of different shit that you WILL be surprised at when dating someone of a different race. Plus when everyone in your family has only dated people in the same race they would definitely feel weird or at least shocked when someone is dating outside of it. Here is my take, it heavly depends, I think race doesn't always play a factor into attraction, but more so traits that we incorrectly attribute to race.

I think the difference is whether you have a preference on a race or a set of qualities that are most common with a race. For example, if you are more sexually attracted to darker skin, it's fine to prefer black men/women since they fit that demographic of sexual preference. But, if you only date a single race strictly because of some stereotype or personality quality you have attributed to them, or some preconceived notion about that race, then it's pretty fucking weird.
Yeah, this is why this question is cancelbait. Skin color is not the same as Race. If you prefer a race it makes you racist by definition. Being superficial about skin color is weird but tolerable while racism is not.

What kind of logic is that, you're self segregating for what? Blatantly given life experiences on how most people aren't racist, then self segregate. I genuinely don't understand these viewpoints, and I can only imagine why they selected everyone who has the same beliefs in this episode.
If you are interested in understanding them, I have an explanation:
There is a difference between the systemic racism shaping the discrimination they experience throughout life and individuals being racist. "Your partner is white so you aren't being discriminated against" is the exact same argument as "I can't be racist because I have black friends" and it is still a bad argument.
Racism isn't a problem of a few individuals being racist, it's a problem of the entire American system being designed from the ground up for maximum profit, and discriminating against people makes them easier to exploit for profit.
The decades of forced segregation and shared suffering, plus being grouped together into ghettos, has forced minorities to literally create their own culture after being ripped out of their own through slavery. Many don't even know where they are originally from.
Now they have built that new culture and are proud of it and you call it "self-segregation"?
"Being welcomed" by some random white people doesn't magically solve the disproportionate poverty, mass jailings, disproportionate police brutality, actively denied home ownership, open white supremacists in congress, gerrymeandering for black voter suppression, gentrification, slavery in prisons, disproportionately terrible healthcare and schools etc. still plaguing specifically black people today.
Or do you think you would excuse all that if some random white guys were nice to you for one day?

Of course the concept of race is malleable, so it depends on where you and who you interact with. So some eastern Europeans, Latinos, Jews who most of the world say are white. Can have this same connection of they’ve encountered much white supremacy. It’s nuanced. But yea if you’re like Western European or descendant of such, it should raise red flags if use that type of language. Very indentarian

I don't know if he's playing up to the chat question marks but I'm just not relating to the 'huh?'s this video. I feel a lot of this was just experience and that xQcat wasn't aware of a few stereotypes and social pressures people get from their race- especially when you're in a minority with a strong sense of community and have been targeted or distanced for being different (as if there's not already a lot of difference in your own race). I agree that it's not right to isolate yourself in that community and judge, for example, a black man for having a white girlfriend. But then there's their feelings of having a friend that's a part of the same clique as you. And having to come to terms that he may be hanging around with people of another culture with different opinions, vernacular... and that you won't be as much a part of that 'club'. But then in a perfect world, you'd hope that the club would change and just embrace cultures and take value in the individual. Over people's own needs to feel a part of a club after having the unwelcoming idea of difference pushed on them and seeing a club as that push back. When it should just be a place to enrich your own culture and heritage and to have like minded people (hopefully 🤞, I'm sure there's always some weird people- it seems a kind of a constant in our world) that you can relate to and have a connection to your culture or possibly, a connection to home. So I think it's pretty cool hearing their opinions and experience with this. And as much as I agree that they should just forget that one person with intolerant views and be accepting of one another as people, it can be more than one person. It can be your aunts and uncles, cousins, childhood friends, neighbours... So even though you can be aware of what life they've lived and why they think that way and be confident in yourself and your thoughts of the matter, there's still gonna be those pressures- your mum making rude comments, your friends not including or distancing you, your uncle adding a lot of emphasis on the colour of your partners skin... So it's nice for them to bring these to attention, because even though you should 'ignore' those thoughts you disagree with, you should be aware of them and the pressure from them. So, sorry for being that guy and writing a speech for a youtube comment. And this isn't a speech for attacking the cow man. Kowabunga. As he's known to say. Just some thoughts. XQCL
