I watch/listen to important news stories from as many opposing sources as possible while I work, and if I can’t get a reasonable picture, _then_ I seek out sources and individual stories on Reddit, or even other less censored forums where people are less likely to “ratio” you for asking for a dam source. There are so many issues with censorship in so many countries that it can be legitimately infuriating to understand certain BIG situations (the military attacks on protesters in Columbia, the Muslim internment/conversion therapy camps in China, government takeover of Hong Kong, even for early corona info I was forced to use google translate on Chinese articles before they were censored which was infuriating).
I also do this on a micro scale with flippant internet drama (I only found xqc coz people tried to “cancel” him on Twitter like a year ago, and the more I watched to figure out why they were mad... the more I decided he’s entertaining, and not a bad guy lol) the biggest problem is that not everyone has the time or ability to consume so much media, people aren’t taught how to think for themselves, and most simply don’t care regardless... Yet... almost EVERYONE insists on having an extremely loud and hard-lined opinion on individual issues regardless. Even important causes like feminism and police reform get so convoluted, and confused, I can _guarantee_ some people are angry just from reading those words. If you don’t can’t or won’t educate yourself about something, ffs Inquire honestly and openly, or literally just STFU. ESPECIALLY if you’re on the right side of an argument, if you argue it but can’t add any substance or sense to your argument, you immediately just become a detriment to your cause.

idek if im depressed or sad at this point cuz its thrown around so much, and theres so much "when people think feeling sad is depression" is putting on a smile every day to hide how i actually feel normal? like feeling like no actually likes me and they all just pretend and talk about me when im not around? feeling like i disappoint everyone around constantly and have absolutely no motivation to better myself or try to figure out how this whole life thing is gonna work out? all i want to do is lay on the couch and do nothing. and it flips every maybe 5 months where im just fine and then next day im just not. i try not to drink and fight the urge to go get a bottle of lemon rum after work cuz then i know im gonna want another the next day, and then the next day as i just get trashed and pass out on the couch every night.. that went on for about 4 months before i just felt fine one day. like right now im fine, but i want to go outside or for a walk woods, or play some video games but i cant bring myself to do it cuz i feel like theres no point. i dont think im dpressed, i just get into these 4-5 month long spurts of shit
I feel the exact same, I'm certain that the way my life is going isn't normal whatsoever, and that the way im feeling isn't normal either. But I just can't tell if I'm actually depressed or just fucking lazy, and how would people treat me if I go to therapy for it and it turns out nothing is wrong in my head and they think I'm faking it for attention.
Sometimes I lay in bed and talk myself up to see a therapist, and then my mind shuts it down on it's own, I lose that motivation in a flash and I keep doing fuck all for months at a time, just waiting for one of my many horrible life choices to come and kill me or give me that life-changing near-death experience shit that everyone with a missing arm or leg talk about.
Even the concept of a therapist makes me feel weird, like I have to pay someone money to have them care about my feelings and listen to what I have to say, it doesn't really make it any better, it's like buying an escort.

Exams here are super hard as it is with one exam being amongst the top 5 hardest exams of the world.
