I deliberated getting something like this when I went to Australia a few years ago, but wound up going for the Sony RX100. Would've appreciated the zoom range that something like this would have for travel use. I think the Mark V version of the RX has a big range though....
neilomac yeah cards on the table the Sony is probably gonna beat it in picture quality. Maybe, I’m only going on what I’ve seen online. When I got this in 2015 I couldn’t believe the amount of zoom in the small size. I’m tempted to sell it and get the Canon SX730. Especially since making this and realising how good it looks and the even bigger zoom

yes, however these are compact cameras designed to just fit in a pocket, so they are really for quick pointing and shooting. Its hard to recommend them for anything other than fantastic focal lengths. For close up photos, a modern smartphone will perform the same or better.

There is no "backlighting", this is just how the room looks except for the additional light on me and a little blue higlight. Thanks for stopping by ;)

this camera doesn't have a viewfinder so it is like a weak point isn't it?

i cant choose between sx420 and this cause the 420 has 40 times zoom and i wanna take pictures of far away birds,and this is only 30 times

Sorry for the late reply... the zoom length in the equivalent of a 35mm camera is 25mm wide and at the telephoto end it is 750mm zoomed in
