I want use it on my Benz w204 , im pssd of scratches & maybe rust which comes when it deep Scratch .. Metal pain of benz is very thin.. so nah hole old pain dwn & raptor pain on the body of my car.
Hi, glad you love it! This has been done at 60 PSI, from about 1.5 foot distance, and with 2 coats with an even sweeping motion. You can refer to our technical datasheet for more information: www.raptorcoatings.com/files/15378/up0821-TDS-EN

Quick question: Im thinking about a total Raptor application of my CJ7. How difficult is it to clean? It's obviously a textured surface. Can it be power washed off and still look good?
How long has the RAPTOR been on the vehicle in question? We know of no issue or reason that fully cured RAPTOR would leave or have any “marks” after being washed and dried. Are you certain that the product is RAPTOR? Can you provide us with additional information or images that show what you are referring to?
Looks nice I'm not a fan of land rovers or range rovers but that's looks the dogs . Ppl on here saying its horrible and ruined are just rover fan boys and probably keep them as close to factory standerd as possible. I have a ranger 4x4 I've already sprayed my side steps and back bumper . And I looks the nuts carnt wait to to the entire truck .
Hi Jason. This vehicle was done in a combination of both black and tintable versions of RAPTOR. The black sections are indeed the black you can expect when you order the black kit. The grays were tinted. Tintable RAPTOR can be tinted to match any color, so talk to you paint specialist when you order the tint to try to get the best color match.
Yes. As a general rule, if the wood substrate is clean, dry and free of dust - RAPTOR can be directly applied to a wood surface without any additional primer required. If you wanted to prime the surface to seal it, you can certainly take this additional step - be sure and follow the application guidelines of the primer you elect to use.
Hi psy06. Absolutely! For a fine textured finish, setup your HVLP gun with a 1.6-2.0 mm tip. Add 15% reducer to the activated RAPTOR product, and set the PSI to about 29. At a distance of at least 6 inches, spray the first coat as an even wet coat. Allow to flash, and then reduce the pressure and material flow to achieve a fine mist for the second coat. If you have more questions, email me at infous@u-pol.com your contact information (phone number, email, and your state), and I can have someone contact you for more specific questions and information.
Hi Tony. We used about 9-10 bottles/liters for this project. In terms of over-spray, it depends what you class as overspray. If you are doing a project in a spray booth, you should masks the walls off with masking film. If you are talking about clouds of overspray similar to a clearcoat, there is no overspray like that as the atomizing of RAPTOR is heavy.
You can find the door hinges here: www.britpart.com/search/door-hinges . There is a distributor in the US called BRITPART from whom you can order them.
Hi amanpreete singh. How much product you'll need depends on a few things: your application technique, whether you're spraying, rolling, or brushing on, gun setup, whether you use reducer, etc. It's hard to say exactly. One 4L kit covers roughly 125 square feet when you spray it on in 2 medium coats, so calculate the square footage of your vehicle to determine how much product you need. Buy an extra kit or two from a distributor who accepts returns for unused, unopened product. If you run out of product before you finish your second coat, and RAPTOR sits overnight or longer, you have to resand the surface before continuing with your second coat. What a pain! That's why it's best to have extra on hand rather than not enough so you can finish your application all in one shot. Most likely, you'll need about 3 kits, but I would suggest buying 4-5 to be safe.
Hi Daniel, for a fine finish, we recommend a HVLP gravity fed gun indeed, with a 1.6 - 2.0 mm nozzle. You can also add up to 15% urethane reducer and apply at 29 PSI, at >0.5 foot of the substrate. Apply 2 even wet coats. Hope it helps
Yes, tint can be added to the black kits as well. If you're looking to match a color code, it may be hard to do with the black. Suggested that you conduct a test spray out to determine if the color and look is acceptable prior to general application.
How can a fine texture be obtained? I prefer to use a dirrerent gun, for more control. What size tip is needed, for HVLP ir conventional? thanks anyone

@@UPOLRaptor how smooth can raptor go? can a finish anything like single stage polyurethane paint be achieved?and is there any videos showing this? thanks
No, RAPTOR is a urethane, 2-component Protective Coating and Truck Bed Liner. It can be used over a multitude of surfaces and tintable RAPTOR can be tinted to any color of your choice, with the ability to create both smooth and textured finishes. RAPTOR is used for 4x4, automotive restoration, off-road, marine, agricultural machinery and general industry. For more information on RAPTOR, checkout the U-POL website or the other videos on this channel. www.u-pol.com
You can actually tint RAPTOR to match almost any color. The possibilities are endless! You can go to your local automotive paint store/Jobber and ask for this: For best results, use the solvent based toners from basecoat mixing systems. RAPTOR can also be tinted with solvent based basecoats and solvent based 2K solid color isocyanate cured paints. Where 2K paints are used this will also need to be activated before use. Do not use waterbased systems to tint RAPTOR. For best results, use solvent based acrylic basecoat toners (ask your paint supplier to leave out the binders). NOTE: Acrylic basecoat toners tend to have high color strength so use sparingly (less than 10% tint by volume). RAPTOR is compatible with any urethane based color, including 2K acrylic solid color and mixed acrylic basecoats, which can be added up to 10% by volume, although typically, 5% color is all that is required for good opacity with any paint type. RAPTOR cannot be used with water based, polyester, or enamel paints.
The critical requirement is that the compressor is capable of producing a minimum pressure of 3 bar (45psi). Your home compressor should state what it is able to produce and if it is above this amount you are good to go.
Most compressors which can reach a suitable pressure have a water filter, but as long as his reaches the minimum pressure we have quoted then it will be fine to spray RAPTOR.
Hello, RAPTOR is UV resistant so it won't fade even after years in the sun. Regarding how long you can expect it to last, there is no time frame really, it all depends on how you use your vehicle. It is a 2K coating anyway so the main purpose of RAPTOR is to last. Hope it helps
Thanks for the reply! One other question. The 2K epoxy primer, can I use it on plastic and aluminum without needing the #4 adhesion promoter (plastic) or the #8 etcher(aluminum)?
Hello, the Epoxy Primer will adhere to suitably prepared Aluminium without the need of GRIP#4. Our technical datasheet does not recommend the Epoxy for plastics. Hope it helps
hello, which is the right spray mask to use?. You show 2, an independent respirator and a half mask. Does it depend on the method of paint? Meaning spray or roller
Hi Israel, the application method of RAPTOR denotes what type of mask. If application by GUN/1, you require an air supply full face mask, by roller you will need a cartridge mask. Difference between application, by gun the product is atomised so you will need full air fed mask, by roller there is very little atomisation so a cartridge mask will cater this application. Hope it helps.
U-POL thanks for the quick reply. So I understand that spraying with gun should not be done with cartridge mask, be it full Face or half mask? Independent respirators are difficult to find where I live and I imagine would be costly. So the roller option seems to be the way to go. However, besides the difficulty of getting into the narrower parts, would the finish be the same, similar or worse than with gun? Last question. With roller using a half mask, which filter do you recommend? Thanks I'm really interested and want to do it on three different cars.
Hi Ismael, Typically an A2/P2 respirator is used for this kind of application. However, you should also consult your local regulations to ensure the correct level of PPE is used. To achieve a flat texture with a roller, you will need a closed cell roller similar to the kind you would apply house hold paint. Use long strokes with minimal pressure to alleviate stripe marks, for any unreachable areas with the roller I would suggest using a brush to coat these prior to roller application. To achieve a coarser texture, you can use an open cell roller using the same technique, this will give you a texture similar to a Schultz gun application. The strong solvents in Raptor will begin to break down the rollers over time. For large applications ensure you have a sufficient supply before you start the application. Hope this is of assistance. Have a great week-end

Hey upol where do I get the tintable paint for the raptor tintable paint kit? I have an old Jeep Cherokee that I want to raptor line and I want to stick close to the factory color.
Hi, you can buy the paint of your choice from your usual automotive paint distributor. Please note Raptor is compatible with solvent based paint only. Hope it helps, and good luck for your project
Hi Jay. For each 1 Liter bottle of RAPTOR sprayed, it will add about 1.375 lbs to your vehicle. A full overspray of a standard sized SUV would use roughly 12 liters of product. You can expect it to add about 16.5 lbs to the vehicle.
In this video our standard black RAPTOR was used but the application is slightly different to how most people would apply RAPTOR. 1. First coat: Apply normally reading about 4 bar at the Gun (GUN#1 with the trigger pulled in). This will give a good ground coat and do all the hard work. 2. Second coat could be repeated if you wanted too, but this isn’t always necessary. 3. 2-3 coat : turn the pressure up to 5-5.5 bar at the gun and then stand around a metre away, stand at a slight angle so your almost 45° to the panel and then lightly drift the RAPTOR on this will give a very light course effect that will look much more matte than if you apply it in a more traditional way.
U-POL comes with a limited warranty stating that the product will be free of defect up until it passes it's shelf life in the original packaging in sealed containers in storage conditions as specified on the TDS and SDS. RAPTOR is user applied and does not have authorized installers like the franchise LINE-X, so no warranty is available for the application of the product.
It depends on your application technique, but 4-5 kits should be plenty. If the distributor you're buying from accepts returns for any unused, unopened kits, buy more than what you think you'll need, so you don't have to run to the store mid-project. Each 4L kit of RAPTOR covers about 125 square feet with 2 coats.
Hi Matthew, we have a couple of examples on our Raptor UK Facebook page: facebook.com/raptorcoatingsuk/ If you send us a message on Facebook, I will be able to send you more pictures if you want. Have a good day!
Hi Mike, you will basically need a HVLP gun and reducer. You can find more details on our technical datasheet: www.raptorcoatings.com/files/16657/rlts4-TDS-EN-UK
Ok, you didn't use an HVLP gun on the body. Video shows dude using the Shultz gun. The link you provided doesn't state how to change the sheen of the finish. I am also wondering how you got the flat (matte) finish?
Hi Dirt DownUnder. You certainly can apply RAPTOR to (most) plastic! Remove all loose material from the surface to be coated. Clean, degrease, abrade, and reclean as per the TDS/Instructions. For Rigid Plastic: after abrading, clean and degrease then use an adhesion promoter, like U-POL GRIP#4 or U-POL 1K Plastic Primer. For Flexible Plastic and Fiberglass (specificially PPO, EDPM, & PP): after abrading, clean and degrease. An adhesion promoter is required for proper adhesion. U-POL GRIP#4 or U-POL 1K Plastic Primer is recommended. For more information, download the RAPTOR TDS from our website www.u-pol.com.
Hi Troy. For a coarse texture using a standard Schutz style gun, like our UP0726 gun, mix RAPTOR and allow to stand for 10 minutes. At a PSI of 45 and a distance of about 1.5 feet, apply the first coat with an even sweeping motion. Drop the second coat over the first.
Hi Troy. The painting world, a “drop coat” is a second (or possibly 3rd in the case of RAPTOR) which is done at higher or lower pressure to provide texture but not a lot of additional build. It’s applied at a further distance from the panel and not meant to go on wet and flow out.
Hi Troy. You can buy the tint from your local automotive paint supply store, and they should be able to help you color match. When you go to your local automotive paint supply store, be sure to tell them for best color match results, Tintable RAPTOR requires a urethane single stage color. If you choose to use basecoat, ask your paint supplier to leave the binder out of the formulation so it is pure pigment. The final color will appear slightly lighter than the base color. Once mixed, check the color of the tinted system before spraying and adjust if critical. For tinting, typically 5% color is required for good opacity. When tinting above 5%, product will need to be mixed out of the bottle in a suitable mixing cup. For best color control, add color by weight. For best results, use the solvent based toners from basecoat mixing systems. RAPTOR® can also be tinted with solvent based basecoats and solvent based 2K solid color isocyanate cured paints. Where 2K paints are used this will also need to be activated before use.
Hi Ellis, here is the mixing ratio: By volume - 3 parts RAPTOR - 1 part hardener - 10% colour. Or 100g RAPTOR - 30g hardener and - up to 10g tint. You can also refer to the online technical datasheet for additional information (www.raptorcoatings.com).
Hi Jon. Tintable RAPTOR DOES work! Check out this video specifically about tinting and spraying RAPTOR. ruclips.net/video/trDPBaBIhPk/видео.html&list=PLBAFF31A863F99C87 If you still have questions, send your contact info (email address and/or phone number) to infous@u-pol.com and I will have our Technical help contact you.

I was talking to a body repair shop about rust repair on my mazda mx5, they suggested using some of this on my underside/sills. Anybody have any experience with this?
Hi Point Blank. Although RAPTOR prevents rust, it is not a rust neutralizing / encapsulating product. It doesnot repair or stop existing rust from continuing. Any existing rust or panels damaged by rust, would need to be treated or repaired prior to applying RAPTOR. If properly repaired, primed and then coated with RAPTOR, the metal surface will be protected from rusting in the future. While RAPTOR will prevent rust from occurring, it will not stop / prevent rust from expanding by merely applying it over an existing rusted surface.
Hi ZaneMaster. Allow 60 minutes flash time between coats. Note: the pot life of RAPTOR is also 60 minutes, so wait to activate the product until right before you're ready to use it. You won't be able to use any of the leftover activated product from the previous coats so mix only as much as you need.
Hi Zane. Check the gun manufacturer's recommendations first. Most guns, including our UP0726 application gun, can be cleaned with acetone or mild solvent. Make sure you clean the gun immediately after use (before the product cures). Once the product is hardened inside the gun and pick-up tube, it is very difficult to remove/clean.
MavennisXV sorry for the late reply ... U-pol currently doesn’t supply Duel Action Sanders. There are many on the market, you can search for 9mm Orbit (Pneumatically palm sander).
Hello! I live in the Caribbean and it is very hot here. Would Raptor withstand such heat? I mean will it crack or flake off after sometime ? I am interested in purchasing this product and I would like to know, thank you.
Hi Jimmy, glad you are interested in Raptor! Raptor will withstand direct heat of up to 248°F (120℃) without any detriment to the paint. Hope you enjoy our product.
RAPTOR Bedliner and Protective Coating is actually super easy to clean! All you need to do is hose it off. Despite the typical RAPTOR application being quite textured, dirt, mud, and grime comes off with ease by simply using water.
Hi Jamal, Raptor protects from many things... rust, corrosion, a wide range of chemicals (fuels, hydraulic oil, salt water), it is water resistant, UV resistant... It can handle impacts without cracking so it's also perfect as a bed liner.
Hello, Aluminium will not corrode/rust - Raptor is applied to the Defender as a paint alternative offering greater protection against scratches & chips than standard 2K paint. Raptor also offers different finishes/aesthetics than standard 2K finishes.
Hi +5cylindersymphony. Although an air fed spray mask system is ideal, a respirator will work just fine as well. You also do not necessarily need a workshop to apply RAPTOR, although if you do not have access to a ventilated spray booth, we recommend you apply RAPTOR outside according to local, regional, and federal regulations.
Hum. you deleted the comment that followed this. Fair enough. Since it was a sensible set of questions i'll just leave you to the trolls instead of trying to be constructive.
Just interested to know what spray gun fluid tip size and thinning ratio would be best recommended when 'using raptor in a HVLP spray gun. Don't worry about it, there is a video on that subject on your channel.
not great vid editing i want to see what type of finish you got and see some detail, theres all these wierd focuses and angles then it cuts away... the person talking gave good info though.
Hi SP330Y. There's no need to ever wax RAPTOR! Waxing RAPTOR is actually not recommended. It is incredibly easy to wash. Simple spray off with a hose, mild soap is optional. It's actually quite easy to clean and mud and dirt does not get stuck in the texture.
Cool, awesome finish? You must be mad. What does it look like when it s gone through some mud. Or is it meant to stay on some knob s forecourt? What a job to remove all that shit.
yeah people are weird and cant stand stuff that arent up their alley and think it needs to be attacked immediately :D i think they made the rover look even better but i understand its not everyones cup of tea. Also to my eyes the original paint was not good to start with so atleast it wont rust away now.
That was a Land Rover Defender. They can cost up to $100k. So yeah, that Land Rover is worth lots of money. But I think the Raptor Liner made it a way better, imo.
Hi Eric. I’m sorry to hear our RAPTORized Land Rover doesn’t meet your tastes. We appreciate this is not to everybody’s liking. We have also been involved with many other projects with RAPTOR being applied in different ways and on different parts of the vehicle. Are main aim here was to show the full extent of different textures and surfaces it could be applied, but keep watching our videos for other applications that you may like!
Thank you for your comment! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that’s what makes America Great! This RAPTOR Land Rover will be well protected from scratches and chips when it goes off-roading, but for a normal street car, it may not be your style. That's okay! RAPTOR has other great uses, too, like as a truck bed liner or a protective coating on wooden decks, garage floors, vehicle underbody, wheel wells, stairs, and the list goes on and on! Just like cars and trucks, there are many brands of coatings out there and everyone has a preference and a reason to purchase their own. At U-POL we want our customers to have the best products for their vehicles.
lol ,, fair comment ,,, but the chassis and the bulk head , rear crossmember and body mounts , door bottoms and foot wells will all have rusted away long before then ,,, does the mud stick in the rougher texture ,,, but as you say , to each their own ,,, i dont doubt the product is great , but on this occasion id question its suitability , in replacing an easily washed smooth coat of paint.
RAPTOR will actually prevent rust on chassis, door bottoms, footwells, etc. because it's water resistant and locks out moisture. You can even use RAPTOR on boat hulls! Despite its texture, anything coated with RAPTOR is actually quite easy to clean. The product does not hold onto mud and dirt, and it can be as easily hosed off and cleaned as a less textured coating. Looks are deceiving!
well unless your spraying the inside of those areas , it wont stand a chance , unless you live in the desert ,,, if you stand beside a landrover on a humid day , you can actually hear them dissolve ,, ,,, what do i base this on ,,,, i restore landrovers for a living ,,
That's awesome! We love restoring vehicles, and RAPTOR works great for all of those problem areas under the vehicle you mentioned previously. It locks out moisture (and keeps rust from forming) and protects those areas from dings, dents, and scratches. You should try it! Check out our website (www.raptorcoatings.com) for more information on the product or the rest of our RAPTOR videos on our channel. You may be underestimating the full extent you could be using RAPTOR in your line of work!
looks great! i'm looking to do this to my truck. couple questions: 1. is this the black raptor, or is it tinted? if its tinted, what color? 2. i'm looking to get a "smoother" texture for my truck. what psi/bar and distance do you suggest for a smoother result? i'm referencing this guys work for what i want. ruclips.net/video/xMj7Y1bSYHM/видео.html
This does not protect anything. You have to remove your original coat of paint. If it would protect it would go on top, and protect the layer beneath. So what if I want to go back to the original color. I have to go through the whole process of repainting.
Hi Dan. RAPTOR is a Protective Coating, so like any other coating or paint, it will cover over the original paint and you will not be able to go back to it without removing the RAPTOR and repainting. There are benefits to using RAPTOR versus an OEM paint finish, like extreme durability and increased UV protection, but a full overspray, like what is featured in this video, is not for every vehicle. If you take your 4x4 vehicle out in the forest, beach, mountains, etc. and like to push your vehicle to its limits, RAPTOR will keep your exterior looking great far better than OEM paint, creating a scratch and stain resistant finish you can beat up over and over and then just hose off to clean.
How many cans/ liters would be recommended for a toyota tacoma with a cap? My is the same as this minus roof racks ruclips.net/video/P1bCkGEzTPs/видео.html
Hi Mauricio. The RAPTOR 4L kit sprays about 125 square feet with 2 medium coats. Buy 4-5 kits from a distributor who offers returns for unopened, unused product so that you have extra. Running out of product in the middle of a job is a pain! For more information on applying RAPTOR, check out all of our RAPTOR videos here: ruclips.net/p/PLBAFF31A863F99C87, and check out the TDS here: www.u-pol.com/files/9838/up0820-SDS-EN
Spoiled a nice looking Defender, but more than that why put all that top show on a motor thats still got a patched up rear crossmember .......... "Fur coat and no Knickers" springs to mind.
depends what you are doing with the truck. If you are off-roading Raptor is the way to go, no scratches from branches and rocks. I like the black matte finish too, looks good ona street rod, rat rod. I did the floors of my 61 bubbletop in raptor, looks great and a lot less weight than dynamat

Fair dues guys, that Rover looks the bollocks. Well done.
I like the look of this. I think it might be the way forward for my trailer camper and pod. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for sharing! RAPTOR will be ideal for your trailer camper and pod. We would love to see pictures once it is done.
Not a problem I will do a video. I will do the Land Rover camper roof in the black and the pod and trailer in tintable.
That's amazing.! Just spaying the Landy with raptor changed the wheels, tyres, seats, lights, grill etc...and gave it a roll cage...
I just wrapped up my CJ7 Jeep on the raptor coat... super cool finish, love it!!!
Tak!! On wyjechał poskładany prosto z komory lakierniczej!!
so touching for an excellent video

great product!
I’m doing this to my 1989 D90 right now.
Hello, spectacular, how many liters did you spend to paint it? Thanks
I want use it on my Benz w204 , im pssd of scratches & maybe rust which comes when it deep Scratch .. Metal pain of benz is very thin.. so nah hole old pain dwn & raptor pain on the body of my car.
I want text in another color on my car.. which types of colors can be used under raptor? tanks for answer..
can you get a very smooth finish like normal car paint?
I love this! What PSI, distance, and how many coats to achieve the look here?
Hi, glad you love it! This has been done at 60 PSI, from about 1.5 foot distance, and with 2 coats with an even sweeping motion. You can refer to our technical datasheet for more information: www.raptorcoatings.com/files/15378/up0821-TDS-EN

Quick question: Im thinking about a total Raptor application of my CJ7. How difficult is it to clean? It's obviously a textured surface. Can it be power washed off and still look good?
How do you keep it clean? I've just purchased a Ferroza in this paint but when I washed it it left marks when trying to dry it??
How long has the RAPTOR been on the vehicle in question? We know of no issue or reason that fully cured RAPTOR would leave or have any “marks” after being washed and dried. Are you certain that the product is RAPTOR? Can you provide us with additional information or images that show what you are referring to?
What did you dry it with? Terry towel?
Can Raptor finish smooth?
Can u make the black have a tint or hue to it if I ass say green to the black?
Looks awesome. How many bottles did you use and how many coats? I am going to do my lr next :)
Thanks Tom! We used 12 bottles of Raptor on the U-pol Landy, applying 2 full coats then a drop coat. Hope it helps, have a nice week-end
Amazing job on the Land Rover Defender how much did the makeover cost...?
Cost will depend on where you purchase the product. On this makeover, we used about 10L of RAPTOR , which is about a kit and a half of product.
I would like to raptor coat my 4x4 black just wondering if you can make it a darker black thanks
who is your official distributor of raptor coatings in the philippines?
What is the name of the grey raptor color used on the video?
how much time gap before you put second or third coat? thanks
Looks nice I'm not a fan of land rovers or range rovers but that's looks the dogs . I have a ranger 4x4 I've already sprayed my side steps and back bumper . And I looks the nuts carnt wait to to the entire truck .
Is this black or a lightened version really like the colour have just ordered some
Hi Jason. This vehicle was done in a combination of both black and tintable versions of RAPTOR. The black sections are indeed the black you can expect when you order the black kit. The grays were tinted. Tintable RAPTOR can be tinted to match any color, so talk to you paint specialist when you order the tint to try to get the best color match.
colour code?
Can this be applied to wood floor of trailer? If so, what is the process? Does it need to be primed, it is raw plywood now.
Yes. As a general rule, if the wood substrate is clean, dry and free of dust - RAPTOR can be directly applied to a wood surface without any additional primer required. If you wanted to prime the surface to seal it, you can certainly take this additional step - be sure and follow the application guidelines of the primer you elect to use.
can you get smooth finish with raptor thinned out and sprayed out of a proper spray gun ?
Hi psy06.
If you have more questions, email me at infous@u-pol.com your contact information (phone number, email, and your state), and I can have someone contact you for more specific questions and information.
how many bottles did you use on the whole vehicle? and is there a lot of overspray?
Hi love the paint...however I love the door hinges even more lol....could you tell me the brand please?
You can find the door hinges here: www.britpart.com/search/door-hinges . There is a distributor in the US called BRITPART from whom you can order them.

I want to raptor my Range rover 2 door club classic.... need some guidance...
Where can I get that raptor decal?
Hi for a fine finish what would you recomend a hvlp gravity fed gun? What size nozzle and psi? Thanks
What type of seats were in those ?
How long did you have to wait to take off the masking off
Hi Jeo, please wait between 60-90 minutes after applying your final coat of RAPTOR before removing the tape.
Bet thats a bugger to clean?
also can tint be added to the black kits?
Yes, tint can be added to the black kits as well. If you're looking to match a color code, it may be hard to do with the black. Suggested that you conduct a test spray out to determine if the color and look is acceptable prior to general application.
How can a fine texture be obtained? I prefer to use a dirrerent gun, for more control. What size tip is needed, for HVLP ir conventional?
thanks anyone
Hi Mike.

@@UPOLRaptor how smooth can raptor go? can a finish anything like single stage polyurethane paint be achieved?and is there any videos showing this? thanks
Hello! What color did they add to the product to have that finish in the Land Rover?
Hi Darwin. The outside of the Land Rover was sprayed with the black RAPTOR. Find out more about RAPTOR at www.raptorcoatings.com.
is kustom kote the same product as raptor liner?
No, RAPTOR is a urethane, 2-component Protective Coating and Truck Bed Liner. It can be used over a multitude of surfaces and tintable RAPTOR can be tinted to any color of your choice, with the ability to create both smooth and textured finishes. RAPTOR is used for 4x4, automotive restoration, off-road, marine, agricultural machinery and general industry.
For more information on RAPTOR, checkout the U-POL website or the other videos on this channel.
www.u-pol.com
Is the "RAPTOR" on the door a sticker? Does it stick on such a textured surface?
Hi Marcel. It is difficult to stick stickers on over a course texture, so we used vinyl stencils and sprayed it on!
U-POL thank you. What paint do you use for spraying on? Normal 2K?
You can actually tint RAPTOR to match almost any color. The possibilities are endless! You can go to your local automotive paint store/Jobber and ask for this:
For best results, use the solvent based toners from basecoat mixing systems.
Hello could you tell me what RAl code this is please as I want to order same colour many thanks
can one use a typical home compressor? I read on your site it has to have a water filter on it? Are those internal on most compressors?
The critical requirement is that the compressor is capable of producing a minimum pressure of 3 bar (45psi). Your home compressor should state what it is able to produce and if it is above this amount you are good to go.
thank you for replying but you didn't address my question about the water filter?
Most compressors which can reach a suitable pressure have a water filter, but as long as his reaches the minimum pressure we have quoted then it will be fine to spray RAPTOR.
i have a craftsman compressor 5.5 hp 25 gal but not sure if it has a water filter is it external? It's an older one, thanks!
Does the bedliner have UV protectant in it? Will the color fade over time? How long would you expect this to last until it needs recoating?
U-POL thanks again!
hello, which is the right spray mask to use?.

I wonder, how much weight would it add to a standard size SUV?
Hi Jay. For each 1 Liter bottle of RAPTOR sprayed, it will add about 1.375 lbs to your vehicle. A full overspray of a standard sized SUV would use roughly 12 liters of product. You can expect it to add about 16.5 lbs to the vehicle.
oh wow
just throw your girlfriend out if weight is an issue
Wow, how much weight? That's got to be one of the stupidest question yet!! What are you going for, a land speed record you idiot?
what is the colour you used to spray the defender it looks more matte than the standard black raptor
3. 2-3 coat : turn the pressure up to 5-5.5 bar at the gun and then stand around a metre away, stand at a slight angle so your almost 45° to the panel and then lightly drift the RAPTOR on this will give a very light course effect that will look much more matte than if you apply it in a more traditional way.
was this with a shulst gun or a hvlp gun?
The body of the Land Rover was sprayed with the U-POL GUN/1 (UP0726) RAPTOR gun, which is a Shultz style gun.

¡Hola!
Super! Envíenos fotos en Facebook o Instagram!
It is possible to know pressure, gun model and distance for this finish ? Tnx!! (min 2:34)
is this texture 2:33 was obtained from standard gun or professional one ? thanks
Hi Daniel, we use a standard gun.
How or what color did you use to get a more flat/mat finish???
Hi redrum161. There are proprietary matting agents available in the U.S. for other 2K products, which are suitable
for use in RAPTOR.
Does it come with lifetime warranty like line-x?
U-POL comes with a limited warranty stating that the product will be free of defect up until it passes it's shelf life in the original packaging in sealed containers in storage conditions as specified on the TDS and SDS. RAPTOR is user applied and does not have authorized installers like the franchise LINE-X, so no warranty is available for the application of the product.
I have a 1993 Toyota T100 Single cab, Long Wheel Base truck. How many kits would it take to paint the entire truck ?
It depends on your application technique, but 4-5 kits should be plenty. If the distributor you're buying from accepts returns for any unused, unopened kits, buy more than what you think you'll need, so you don't have to run to the store mid-project.
Each 4L kit of RAPTOR covers about 125 square feet with 2 coats.
I bought 2 thinking that would be plenty !!! At 60psi
Hi Craig. 2 kits probably won't be enough to spray the entire truck. You will most likely need 4 for the truck plus 1 for the bed.
do you have pictures of it sprayed fine?
Hi Matthew, we have a couple of examples on our Raptor UK Facebook page: facebook.com/raptorcoatingsuk/
If you send us a message on Facebook, I will be able to send you more pictures if you want. Have a good day!
Why would you do that?
could you share how you got the flat or mate finish please?
Hi Mike, you will basically need a HVLP gun and reducer. You can find more details on our technical datasheet: www.raptorcoatings.com/files/16657/rlts4-TDS-EN-UK
Ok, you didn't use an HVLP gun on the body. Video shows dude using the Shultz gun. The link you provided doesn't state how to change the sheen of the finish. I am also wondering how you got the flat (matte) finish?
Who new spraying a car with this stuff gives you new bumpers, lights and seats...
Adam royston it doesn't, and doesn't mention it does in the video 👍🏻
But the end result isn’t just paint or Bed liner is it? It’s paint/bed liner and a who host of additional kit.
Can this be used on plastic trim?
I ordered my kits yesterday. What psi do I need to regulate my gun to get a course finish?
Hi Troy. For a coarse texture using a standard Schutz style gun, like our UP0726 gun, mix RAPTOR and allow to stand for 10 minutes. At a PSI of 45 and a distance of about 1.5 feet, apply the first coat with an even sweeping motion. Drop the second coat over the first.
what do you mean by drop the second coat? and what kind of paint do I need to mix in the tintable mixture?
What mix was used to achieve the finished colour? Cheers.
Thank you! What tint did you use? I'm really liking the colour
We used a solvent based tint, kind of metallic / grey.
they say the tinting doesnt work do you have a video of it working?
Hi Jon. Tintable RAPTOR DOES work! Check out this video specifically about tinting and spraying RAPTOR.

How long do you have to wait between coats?
Hi ZaneMaster. Allow 60 minutes flash time between coats. Note: the pot life of RAPTOR is also 60 minutes, so wait to activate the product until right before you're ready to use it. You won't be able to use any of the leftover activated product from the previous coats so mix only as much as you need.
What product do you recommend to clean the spray gun up after shooting the raptor liner?
Hello what sander did you use in this video??
Hi Mavennis, the sander was RH 159A RUPES SKORPIO 9mm Orbit (Pneumatically palm sander).
@U-POL thanks, is there a sander you would recommend for a series 3 that’s a bit cheaper??
How did you do the stencil
We used vinyl stencils and sprayed it on.
bad ass
this is colour need so much cleaner and details . when u left the car two or three its become dirty
RAPTOR Bedliner and Protective Coating is actually super easy to clean! All you need to do is hose it off. Despite the typical RAPTOR application being quite textured, dirt, mud, and grime comes off with ease by simply using water.
Protect it from what exactly?
Hi Jamal, Raptor protects from many things... rust, corrosion, a wide range of chemicals (fuels, hydraulic oil, salt water), it is water resistant, UV resistant... It can handle impacts without cracking so it's also perfect as a bed liner.
+U-POL arnt the defenders body's made of aluminum? don't thick it will rust.still looks cool though
Hello, Aluminium will not corrode/rust - Raptor is applied to the Defender as a paint alternative offering greater protection against scratches & chips than standard 2K paint. Raptor also offers different finishes/aesthetics than standard 2K finishes.
Why on earth would anyone do this to a Defender.
Wow, you missed the first question in every possible customer may have.. HOW MUCH DO YOU NEED FOR SPECIFIC SIZES

lol So true
Having an air fed spraying mask plus a workshop to paint a 2K product might just put a few people off?
Hi +5cylindersymphony. Although an air fed spray mask system is ideal, a respirator will work just fine as well. You also do not necessarily need a workshop to apply RAPTOR, although if you do not have access to a ventilated spray booth, we recommend you apply RAPTOR outside according to local, regional, and federal regulations.
Hum. you deleted the comment that followed this. Fair enough. Since it was a sensible set of questions i'll just leave you to the trolls instead of trying to be constructive.
Hi 5cylindersymphony. I'm not sure what happened to your comment, so feel free post again, and I would be more than happy to answer!
Just interested to know what spray gun fluid tip size and thinning ratio would be best recommended when 'using raptor in a HVLP spray gun. Don't worry about it, there is a video on that subject on your channel.
Depending on reduction ratio of the RAPTOR from 10% to 25% and the texture desired, anything from a 1.4 to a 2.5 can be used.
not great vid editing
i want to see what type of finish you got and see some detail, theres all these wierd focuses and angles then it cuts away... the person talking gave good info though.
T-Rex Speedo liner it’s the best
Looks to me mud will stick to that like shit on a blanket.
Raptor is actually very easy to clean :)
@@UPOLRaptor yes I did more research l am going to spray my land Rover defender in the summer good stuff
no good for waxing or very hard to wash
Hi SP330Y. There's no need to ever wax RAPTOR! Waxing RAPTOR is actually not recommended. It is incredibly easy to wash. Simple spray off with a hose, mild soap is optional. It's actually quite easy to clean and mud and dirt does not get stuck in the texture.
thanks, didn't know it was that good :)
Cool, awesome finish? You must be mad. What does it look like when it s gone through some mud. Or is it meant to stay on some knob s forecourt? What a job to remove all that shit.
U POL'S motto is Driving Suface Perfection ? Come on , I would rather scratch my ass with razor blades than do that to the outside of a defender
this is a good product don't worry about the haters the landrover was worth nothing anyway
yeah people are weird and cant stand stuff that arent up their alley and think it needs to be attacked immediately :D i think they made the rover look even better but i understand its not everyones cup of tea.

At U-POL we want our customers to have the best products for their vehicles.
lol ,, fair comment ,,, but the chassis and the bulk head , rear crossmember and body mounts , door bottoms and foot wells will all have rusted away long before then ,,, does the mud stick in the rougher texture ,,,
but as you say , to each their own ,,, i dont doubt the product is great , but on this occasion id question its suitability , in replacing an easily washed smooth coat of paint.
Looks are deceiving!
well unless your spraying the inside of those areas , it wont stand a chance , unless you live in the desert ,,, if you stand beside a landrover on a humid day , you can actually hear them dissolve ,, ,,, what do i base this on ,,,,
i restore landrovers for a living ,,
That's awesome! FIVE YEARS ago and no reply from Raptor. Wow!
