I have a 54 year old pickup that I am restoring for me. Inside the bedsides that are technically wide open for salty water, mud and dirt to find a home. We all know what happens next. Thanks to the design, these are unbolted, turned upside down, cleaned to bare metal, neutralized, sanded, wiped with W/G remover. My question is, if I use a high quality epoxy sealer for base protection, can I spray the black Raptor liner over it during its open window after it flashes off? I understand as it is a belt and suspenders approach providing twice the protection, at least in my mind. But, this is my last build, a daily driver that I can use to make the short trips monthly in a vehicle I am proud to own. Thanks for any feedback. I will be using this product on the cab floor and bottom of cab as well. ASE Master Tech since 1978-Retired
Hi, one question please, I am about to paint my FZJ80 in Raptor liner and I am wondering - different textures, subtle or rough... is there any difference in durability or strength or is one better for off-roading than another or is that only matter of taste preferences? And one more, I would do raptor liner on the inside of the doors and door steps too and I am wondering will it be able to close the door as it suppose to be due to rough surfaces of textures? Thanks in advance
@@Jonathan-tb6fm i would not worry about lines or streaks, just make sure to have everything *very well prepped* and get good coverage. i sprayed my custom bumpers, the interior floor, and under side of a jeep cherokee xj using 2 kits and the gun that was supplied. i followed the instructions and also used the "upol acid 8" (acid etch primer) to cover any bare metal before the bed-liner. i am not a great painter, but this was so easy because the texture and thickness of this paint covered up my imperfections and it is not very runny. prep is the key to good adhesion. i am now about to use my 3rd kit to do the axles and a other little odds and ends. i would love to also do the exterior if i had the chance

is the recommended air pressure set prior to shooting the product, or is that the pressure it should read while shooting? Pressure gauge drops significantly while shooting.

I have order the set with 4 bottles hardner and spray gun. But i wana spray it with normaln profi spray gun . What do i need besides what i have al ready ? Thank you
Oops! found it on datasheet that pot life is 60 minutes, and the recoat time is also 60 minutes, so to apply 2 coats I will need to mix 2 separate batches? Is that correct?
Hello... I want to spray Upol Anti Corrosive Expoy Primer on my truck that I sanded down to the metal and then I want to spray Raptor liner on top of that with a "Fuji Industrial Spray Equipment PLATINUM-T70 Fuji 3005-T70 Q5 Platinum Quiet HVLP Spray System" I want to use the Fuji spray system for the primer and the Raptor liner. Getting proper thinning of the paint to optimize atomization through the Fuji system will be key. Have you heard of a Zahn cup or #4 Ford cup? In order for a paint to spray properly through an HVLP sprayer I understand that it should be thinned to where it flows properly out of a Zahn or Ford cup. From what I understand the Upol Anti Corrosive Expoy Primer should shoot well out of the Fuji Spray 1.8mm tip without any reducer. It's the Raptor liner that is thicker and will need to be reduced. I am planning on using using "Restoration Shop / Custom Shop - UR70 Medium Urethane Reducer (Gallon) for Automotive Paint and Industrial Paint" and wait until the ambient temperature is appropriate before I spray. I would greatly appreciate any tips or insights for what I am trying to do.
Hi Jarrad, Fibreglass needs to be abraded with P180 abrasive, hard to reach areas should be abraded by hand. Once abraded the surface should be thoroughly degreased. You are now ready to shoot Raptor. Hope it helps
Warning: Perhaps a dumb question - where online can I buy a "solvent base coat" - Trust that this isnt a lazy commenter, I have looked on google and numerous webpages and found plenty of info from paint manufactures but nothing on where to buy or how.
Ask your paint shop but tint-able will fade some. But wait an hour to out-gas and cross-link, then paint a base coat with a hardener. I don’t think a Clear is ever recommended or desired.
Since Raptor can be reduced, I'll try spraying with pressure pot to get a bigger even pattern, rather than the small round pattern that comes out of the schutz gun.
My question is similar to Cody's below but more specific. I am considering this to spray the sun damaged cladding on my 2002 Chevy Avalanche. I'm looking for a smoother finish so I like the results from the gravity feed solution. How exactly do I prepare this plastic for good adhesion? I will try it on the tonneau covers first for trial and if it works, then the rest of the body cladding. Thoughts?
Hello Jared, nice project! You can scuff the plastic with grit 220-320 and apply an adhesion promoter (U-POL GRIP#4). Then wait for 20 minutes before applying RAPTOR. You can check our RAPTOR Website for more information on the application: www.raptorcoatings.com Hope it helps.
Hi C C. You can use either gun, the UP0726 RAPTOR Gun or a gravity fed HVLP gun, and yes, both were featured in this video. The instructions for each gun are slightly different. You can find the directions here: www.u-pol.com/storage/app/uploads/public/58e/fbb/ee5/58efbbee58741636085280.pdf
If I have an existing bed liner I did a few years ago, and I want to redo the bed with raptor liner, what prep and or other things would I need to do before using raptor liner?
Hi +fpshootermcgavin85. As a general rule, if the coating can be sanded, you can apply RAPTOR over it, but I can't know for sure without knowing exactly what product is already on your vehicle. You will still need to follow the prep instructions for sanding, and it is highly recommended you use one good coat of GRIP#4 Adhesion Promotor to be safe before applying RAPTOR.
Hi Mike, based on all of our technical work and competition benchmarking, we are confident that RAPTOR offers a market leading combination of UV stability, texture control, color availability and durability. Have a nice day
Hi Bruce, Raptor can be overpainted with Raptor indeed. When overpainting, prepare the surface as follows; Raptor should be allowed to dry for 24-hours. Abrade with a fine abrasive pad to create a matte surface. Clean and degrease. The surface is ready to paint. Hope it helps
I was going to use this on a steal bumper and jeep side steps that already have factory paint applied. Would I need any one of your primers or would I just need to rough the surface with sand paper first, clean it, and then apply?
I have bought 8L plus the hardner of tintable liner. How much color do I need for the 8L? I noticed that you sell a 1.5 color packet and I have seen it from customer color in a 3ml bottle. Which amount is correct for me to purchase? Or how much and what exactly can I get from my local paint store.
I have a 6x10 trailer I want to use this one. the 2 sides and the floor. I want it to be as thick as Line X. you mentioned it was a thinner product than line x. do you have a different variation of this product that is thicker that can be applied with a gun we can buy with it?
Hi Bobby. Yes, RAPTOR is a thinner product compared to LINE-X, but keep in mind these are two very different chemicals. With RAPTOR, you can achieve a durable, scratch, chip, and chemical resistant surface at a fraction of the product thickness (and cost) of LINE-X. It is not recommended to apply more than 3 coats of RAPTOR (with a 60 minute flash in between coats). More build runs increase chance of solvent entrapment and product failure and will not significantly increase the durability of the product. Basically, you get more for less! Once you RAPTORize it, you won't go back to "those other guys"!
I have a 1980 f250 regular cab long bed. will 8 liters work for 2 layers? And there is a black metallic version of this, how is it different? is it more glossy? Is what you're using the regular black kit? Please respond
HI OhioBassBum. One 4L kit of RAPTOR will cover 125 square feet. 8L for a long bed should be plenty for 2 coats. For more information on how much RAPTOR you'll need for specific applications, read this: www.u-pol.co.uk/documents/catalogues/RAPTOR-U-POL-Indicative-Coverage-EN.pdf We do not carry a black metallic version - only black and tintable - but the tintable version offers unlimited customizablity. RAPTOR can be tinted to match any color, so you can add metallic flakes to give the surface a unique shimmer. In this video, Mark is using Black RAPTOR.
im planing to spray a complte 1981 toyota hilux short bed pick up to questios about thathow many liter ill need and surface prparation , its and old truck so whats your recomendation about surfase preparation , clean it to bare metal?
We're excited to here you are going to do a complete overspray of our vehicle! It's going to look great! One 4L kit of RAPTOR with cover about 125 square feet. If you need help calculating how much product you'll need, check out this document: www.u-pol.co.uk/documents/catalogues/RAPTOR-U-POL-Indicative-Coverage-EN.pdf For surface prep and application instructions, you can find the TDS here: www.u-pol.co.uk/documents/datasheets/tds/RLB-TDS-US.pdf If you have any other questions, you can call into our main office at 610-746-7081 to find a Technical Representative in your area.
I was at a Land Rover show at Stoneleigh today and saw a Land Cruiser totally covered in this stuff in black.I have to say it looked good and was getting a lot more interest than the expedition dvd the guy was presumably trying to sell!
Hi VatoLocoCarpenter. Chrome presents some challenges. We cannot guarantee adhesion but reasonable results can be obtained if one of the following is used: 1) Good - Grill - Sand the surface as well as possible, apply two coats of GRIP#4, allow to dry then apply RAPTOR. This technique was used by one of our sales men last year on a Toyota grill and it worked quite well. 2) Best - Bumper and Grill - Sand the surface as well as possible, apply epoxy primer (following primers guidelines), than apply RAPTOR. Another option could be to sand and apply 2 coats of ACID#8 and then apply RAPTOR. Note that this has not been fully tested, so test in an inconspicuous spot first.
@@rickmeeder4060 this is a permanent coating unlike peelable coatings like plastidip. So sand the polished surface giving the Raptor liner a mechanical bond.
I did this to my Ram bumpers and running boards. I had all the chrome sandblasting before hand. Then I primed it before spraying raptor. It's going on 3 years with zero issues. Love this product I plan to do my RZR with it this summer.
I am looking to cover my plastic bumpers on my 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk, to make it better suited for off-road. How much would I need to cover 1 front, rear bumper, and a few trim panels?
Hi D Con. Each activated liter of RAPTOR will cover approximately 31 sq ft of surface area. A 1 liter kit (#UP4801) may be cutting it a bit close so - just to make sure that you don’t run short in the middle of your project, I would say that 2 of the 1 liter kits would be enough for your main project with some left over for anything else you may want to coat and protect. Additionally, when working on bumper covers and trim panels, which are generally TPO plastic, GRIP#4 Universal Adhesion Promoter is required to ensure proper adhesion.
Is it ok to wipe it down after washing with like a Macguires ultimate shine and UV protectant ? Please reply i have raptor on the bottom 8 inches , inside and out on my jeep doors. I dont want to ruin it by using the wrong protectant on it . Your reply is greatly appreciated .. it was applied 6 months ago and have never put anything on it ...
Hi Curtis, it will be more resistant than normal automotive paint for sure. You are right, the HVLP gun gives a smoother texture so it won't be as resistant as thick RAPTOR. It all depends on how you use your vehicle really, but RAPTOR, even applied with an HVLP gun, will be more resistant than normal paint.
How many liters would I need to do a single cab Tacoma? That's including exterior and the bed. And what grit sandpaper? I've been told to use 120 to 220 grit. Which will work best?
Hi Zachary Harmon. One 4L kit of RAPTOR sprays about 125 square feet. Depending on your application technique, 4-5 kits should be plenty. If the distributor you're buying from accepts returns for any unused, unopened kits, buy more than what you think you'll need, so you don't have to run to the store mid-project. You can also purchase 1L kits (UP4801-4804) if you need a little extra but not a whole 4L kit. The grit sandpaper needed for you application depends on the substrate. For help choosing sandpaper and in generally with your application, check out the TDS here (sand paper on page 2): www.u-pol.com/storage/app/uploads/public/58e/fbb/ee5/58efbbee58741636085280.pdf
You can buy the tint from your local automotive paint supply store, and they should be able to help you color match. When you go to your local automotive paint supply store, be sure to tell them for best color match results, Tintable RAPTOR requires a urethane single stage color. If you choose to use basecoat, ask your paint supplier to leave the binder out of the formulation so it is pure pigment. The final color will appear slightly lighter than the base color. Once mixed, check the color of the tinted system before spraying and adjust if critical. For tinting, typically 5% color is required for good opacity. When tinting above 5%, product will need to be mixed out of the bottle in a suitable mixing cup. For best color control, add color by weight. For best results, use the solvent based toners from basecoat mixing systems. RAPTOR® can also be tinted with solvent based basecoats and solvent based 2K solid color isocyanate cured paints. Where 2K paints are used this will also need to be activated before use.
RAPTOR can be topcoated, but generally, it's not needed. RAPTOR dries to a semi-gloss/eggshell finish, which most people find to be plenty of gloss. Clearcoats do not have the same level of durability as RAPTOR and are more likely to chip under heavy duty use. Lightly abrade fully cured RAPTOR with a gray scuff pad. U-POL 2K clearcoats, like UP2882 and UP2872V, use the same resin system as RAPTOR so U-POL clearcoats will give the best results. Please follow our technical datasheet: www.raptorcoatings.com/files/15378/up0821-TDS-EN
A 6 HP compressor that generates 150 PSI line pressure should provide sufficient air supply, but is dependent on the application equipment / gun (Shultz type or gravity feed HVLP) used to apply the RAPTOR. As far as atomizing air pressure - that is completely dependent on the look that you want to achieve. Higher air pressure generates higher atomization and produces a smaller particle size. 80 PSI seems high but if 80 PSI provides the texture and look that you find pleasing - go for it. Do a small test spray before you begin your project, and experiment with different PSI settings until you find the look you’re looking for.

I want to spray my sons Honda four wheeler. I have ordered the adhesion promoter to spray on the plastic once the prep work is complete. Are there any other steps I should take when spraying Raptor on the type of plastic that four wheelers are made of? Will the Raptor liner stick and not flake or peel off of the plastic fenders?
HI Donald. You will need to check to see what kind of plastic the four wheel is made of. Most flexible plastics are TPO, EDPM, & PP, which are all approved substrates. For these, abrade with 180-320 grit. Clean and degrease. An adhesion promoter is required for proper adhesion. U-POL GRIP#4 is recommended, which you've already purchased. Polyethylene, which is often found on ATVs, is a finicky material that has adhesion issues with most coatings. RAPTOR does not adhere to polyethylene, even with the use of adhesion promoter. For more detailed instructions, check out the instruction sheet in the kit box or the Technical Data Sheet here: www.u-pol.com/files/9838/up0820-SDS-EN
U-POL thanks for the response! I think the atv plastic is PP, but i will double check with the manufacturer to verify. Thanks again for the information!!
Donald Tidmore I'm a little late in this matter. I own Cng-Hydrographics and do a lot of atv's etc. Most plastics are stamped on the underside. You can flame treat the plastics with a soldering torch. Do small maybe 8x8" squares just till it gets shiny. Immediately take with a spray bottle and spray 91 percent alcohol on it and wipe right away. Be sure to do the entire substrate like that. That will remove the releasing agent out of the plastic. I've never had a job come back. Any questions please feel free to ask.
Thanks for the help, CNG HYDROGRAPHICS! What types of plastic can you do this procedure on? What is the purpose of this procedure? Better adhesion? Do you still prime or use adhesion promoter before applying RAPTOR?
U-POL, We do hydrographics also... 90% of our job is to make paint adhere to any kind of plastic, even Canadian plastic, which nothing wants to stick to... Flame treating plastic brings the release agents ( WD-40, silicone, etc.), that make the parts pop out of the mold when they're done, come up to the surface, so they can be removed with alcohol... Adhesion promoter, epoxy primer, or hydrographic paint will stick to any plastic using this process...
Hi Big Sal. You can use 80-180 grip sand paper. If you have more questions about your application, check our the TDS here: www.u-pol.com/storage/app/uploads/public/580/dfa/7dc/580dfa7dc3f92764655609.pdf or leave another comment.
I used 100 grit sandpaper & red scotchbrite . Clean prep properly & sprayed my truck at 60PSI. This was my 1st time with this product, and found it easy to work with & very happy with the end result . Excellent Product
We used a 100 grit and also used itching primer on bare metal to prevent rusting underneath. Also used a bonding adhesion product to help with areas we couldn't reach. It was amazing. The prep work took about 20 hours on a regular bed. That is from start to finish tapping and plastic protection included.
I added an inline pressure regulator to the schutz gun. When adjusting my psi on the gauge should it be 40-60 with the trigger depressed or in resting position?
thx for the tip. i have put 2 coats and run out of product. my second coat is a little patchy thanks to a nosy neighbour and a visit from the police. Can i add more coats at later date? any tips for better adhesion if i apply a third coat in a 2-3 weeks

Hi ZABKAK1976. You can add additional coats at a later date, but you'll need to do some prep work. You can follow the original instructions: Remove loose material, clean, degrease; sand the application area; etch primer any exposed metal or use adhesion promoter on any exposed plastic; mix and spray! RAPTOR will adhere to itself after a bit of mechanical adhesion (sanding), so as long as you don't expose any substrates below, you won't need to primer anything.
I have a question to how much or size of kit will I need to buy. I have a 1985 Chevy truck. There is no truck bed. Wanting to do truck cab and front end. Hope you still read Comments. Thanks for any Help
im going to apply tinted raptor over my entire pickup via rolling it on.. its a small toyota pickup n has single stage paint.. i am not doing the interior of the bed since i have a plastic insert for the bed.. will a single 4l kit be sufficient? also, ive so far used maroon scotchbrite pads for the prep.. will that be enough for the mechanical bond?
Good morning, you typically need about 3 kits to do a small pick up truck. 3 kits will be 12 bottles. If your not doing the bed you can probably get it done with 2 kits. You will want to use urethane reducer UP2452 and reduce the Raptor 10% to make it roll easier. You have to sand the surface with a minimum of 180 grit sandpaper. A red scuff pad will not create enough of a scratch in the surface to make the Raptor adhere. Hope it helps, have a nice week end
@@UPOLRaptor i switched to medium grit sanding sponges and a da sander for bigger flat areas. is there any other compatible type of urethane reducer? finding the noted type at the volume i need seems quite challenging
RAPTOR is easy to mix. Simply FILL the RAPTOR coating bottle to the first ridge line "A" (250ml/0.5 pints of hardener). Replace the cap and SHAKE contents vigorously for at least 2 minutes. Yes, you should use the entire 1 liter tin of hardener when activating 4 bottles of RAPTOR.
Hi Mike, RAPTOR can generally be re-coated after 24 hours. Scuff it with a red scuff pad, clean with wax and grease remover, apply the next coat of RAPTOR. Hope it helps
Hi Rick, we recommend 1.6 - 2.0 mm tip, with up to 15% reducer, 2 BAR, at 0.5 foot from the surface. You can either do the first and second coats applied as even wet coats or the first coat as a wet coat and the second coat with reduced pressure and material flow to achieve a fine mist. Hope it helps
We have had good adhesion on chrome when cleaned, scuffed with a red scuff pad and then apply two coats of GRIP#4 adhesion promoter - apply RAPTOR after GRIP#4 dries. On plastic wheel flares and mirrors - clean the surface well with our anti-silicone aerosol wax and grease remover, lightly scuff, apply two coats of GRIP#4 adhesion promoter and apply RAPTOR.
Hi Robert. For a smoother finish, use an HVLP gravity fed gun with a 1.6-2.0mm nozzle setup. Add 15% urethane reducer when mixing RAPTOR. Set your gun at 29 PSI. At a distance of about 1/2 a foot, spray the first coat as a even wet coat. After flashing, reduce the pressure and material flow to achieve a fine mist for the second coat. Hope this helps!
Hi Robert. If you need a little more information, you can also check out the TDS on our website: www.u-pol.com/storage/app/uploads/public/58e/fbb/ee5/58efbbee58741636085280.pdf
Hi Chief. Depending on how you spray, it should take between four and six 4L kits to spray the entire outside of the truck. Before you purchase, check your local distributor's return policy to see if you can return unused, unopened kits in case you purchase too much. RAPTOR has a 60 minute pot life once activated, so be sure to mix only as much as need at a time so you can use within pot life as well as return any unused product.
Hi Edwin, yes you can. Scuff it with a red scuff pad, clean with wax and grease remover, apply the next coat of RAPTOR. Apply 1-2 light coats of GRIP#4 in any hard to reach areas according to TDS before re application of RAPTOR. Hope it helps,
Hi Mary. It depends on your application technique, but 4-5 kits should be plenty. I would suggest buying 5 kits at once, that way you have everything you need before you get started. Make sure the distributor you purchase from accepts returns for any unused, unopened kits. Practice applying on a small object before spraying your vehicle so you can find the best way to get the texture you want.
A year ago...before hearing of raptor liner...I sprayed bed with por 15 liner. I blasted bed to bare metal, sprayed DuPont etch primer, primer sealer and then 2 light coats of por 15 using 1 gallon for the 2 coats for Chevy 1500 bed. Waited a day or 2 between each product.... Cause doing after work before dark and didn't want to apply too soon and have something like this happen. But Next day and for about a week the liner started cracking and some spots flaking off. Can I sand that liner a bit and spray raptor over top? Or would you suggest I try spraying another coat of their liner to cover cracks and chips and hope it don't crack too? Or what's your advice? Thanks
Hi Joe. RAPTOR has not been tested for compatibility with POR 15 or any other products made by other manufacturers. To play it safe, sand down to the primer or bare metal again. Remember to apply an etch primer, like U-POL ACID#8 Acid Etch Primer, to exposed bare metal areas and an adhesion promoter, like GRIP#4 Universal Adhesion Promoter, to hard to sand areas, like cracks and corners. Follow the included instructions or you can find the TDS here: www.u-pol.com/files/11598/up0820-SDS-EN. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for all products. Some products must be sanded before applying additional coats or another coating if it's been sitting for more than a few hours. Most products are developed to be used one right after another with a short flash time of a few minutes between coats, not days later. You may need to sand between coats if you choose to wait days between coats. That could have been your issue. Good luck, and if you have any other issues or questions, you can reach us here on RUclips, via email at sales-us@u-pol.com, or at (610) 746-7081.
hi guys I'm looking to underseal my 3 mitsubishi l400 delicas. there about the size of a lwb pajero. just wondering how many litres per vehicle I should expect to use and also can I inject this into chassis members or should I use waxoil? many thanks
Hi Shane. A 4L RAPTOR kit provides approximately 125 sq. ft. of surface coverage, so it’s possible that one kit would provide sufficient coverage per vehicle but you may be cutting it close depending on the underside contour. If you need a little extra, you can also purchase individual bottles with our 1L RAPTOR kits (UP4801, 4802, 4803, & 4804). As far as injecting it into the chassis - it will depend on the type of equipment used to inject it. We have never tested it in or for this application. Waxoil is much thinner in viscosity than RAPTOR is. Plus, it is not a catalyzed product and for this reason, we cannot make an informed recommendation.
Quick question. I just applied raptor inside of my jeep. It has an aluminum body. I sanded with 80 grit. I forgot to spray the acid 8 though. Should I scrape the liner off and do over?
YES! RAPTOR does not adhere directly to Aluminum, so you will have adhesion and durability issues if not immediately, sometime in the future. I'm sorry to hear that you'll have to redo your work, but it will be worth it when your RAPTOR application is fixed by using the ACID#8 first.
Is there resources to find out how much product I will need? I can't just buy and return so I need to get it close to what I need. Painting 1984 Chevy G20 Conversion Van LWB w/ high roof.
Hi Jay. RAPTOR only comes in White, Black, and Tintable from the manufacturer (U-POL). There are some distributors who pre-mix colors, so you'll have to contact the distributor directly for questions about those colors.
U-POL I have a 2016 black Toyota Tacoma. If I get the timetable Raptor and get tint with my paint code. Will the color look the same ? I live on a grave road I just wanted to 5inchs around my truck .
Hi Jay Pereira. How close the color will match depends on the age of the vehicle, how weathered the original paint is, as well as the paint system used and the pigment density in the toners. Generally, you can get very close to a color match. The age of the vehicle and the texture, more so than the color, will impact the finished look when attempting to match a color on the vehicle.
Hi Brinton. Generally speaking, Raptor Tintable is opaque enough that it will cover any color. Make sure you follow the tinting instructions carefully so you know that your pigment density is strong enough. Check out the TDS for instructions: www.raptorcoatings.com/files/15378/up0821-TDS-EN
Hi Joe. RAPTOR will adhere to a wide variety of substrates with the proper surface preparation. What is the bottom of your kayak made out of? You can achieve a smooth application with RAPTOR. Using a HVLP gun with a 1.6mm-2.0mm tip setup, reduce RAPTOR BY 15%. Set the PSI to 29, and spray from a distance of at least half a foot away from the surface. Apply 2 coats: 1st coat: even wet coat. 2nd coat: reduce pressure and material flow to achieve a fine mist. If you need additional Technical help, email us at sales-us@u-pol.com or call us at (610) 746-7082.
Hi Joe. Polyethylene is one of those tricky materials that has adhesion issues with most if not all coatings and paints. RAPTOR will NOT adhere to polyethylene. You may have trouble finding any coating that will adhere, so check the coating manufacturer's instructions and/or TDS very carefully before purchasing.
RAPTOR is a very versatile product, so a variety of tips could be used depending on the final look and texture you're looking for. Generally speaking, we suggest a 1.6-2.0mm tip setup, but you could experiment with other tip sizes. Spray some test panels to find the perfect look before doing the full project.
Hi Jordan, you can reduce the Raptor liner with a 105 reduction of urethane reducer. Stir it until the lumps are gone. You will spray it out of an HVLP primer gun with a 1.6 to 1.8 tip. It will come out very smooth. Hope it helps
it there a clear coat made for your liner, if you spray this on a surface and you get something on it, will it stain say the black liner? im just thinking in cases of bird feces and stuff like that, can i power wash this off easily over time or does it need a coat of clear?
Hi +Brandy Adams. RAPTOR does have UV inhibitors in the formulation, so it does have bit of a gloss to it already which won't fade or draw back. If you want even more gloss, any 2K clear can be applied over RAPTOR. U-POL does offer a line of coatings called System 20, which your local Jobber can order for you if they don't have it in stock. Even without a clearcoat, RAPTOR is very easy to clean and can be power washed once cured. In terms of staining, RAPTOR is non-staining and chemically resistant to a wide variety of chemicals, including bird feces, horse urine, diesel, acid rain, bleach, and caustic chemicals.
+UPOLONLINE5 thank you so much that was really helpful I appreciate it. I was planning to use a pearl on my truck and I wasn't sure if I could without using an additional coat of clear. thanks!!
Hi Osvaldo. We recommend a 1.6-2.0mm gun tip, so your 1.6 Sata should would fine. There are dozens of different techniques and setups you can use to get different textures and effects. A few standard setups U-POL recommends are: Fine texture using a HVLP Gravity Fed Gun - 15% Reducer - 1.6-2.0mm Tip - 29 PSI - Spray at a distance of at least 6" from the surface - Spray one even, wet coat, and then a second coat reducing the pressure and material flow to achieve a fine mist Standard texture using a HVLP Gravity Fed Gun - 15% Reducer - 1.6-2.0mm Tip - 29 PSI - Spray at a distance of at least 6" from the surface - 2 coats with an even sweeping motion Do a couple of test sprays before you get started so you can find the texture and technique that works best for your project, and let us know how it goes!
@@UPOLRaptor @u-pol I'm looking to get a texture as shown between 3:13 and 3:33. Maybe slightly more coarse, but still quite fine and very even patterning. Looking for a matte to satin sheen. What is the difference between "Spray one even, wet coat, and then a second coat reducing the pressure and material flow to achieve a fine mist " and "2 coats with an even sweeping motion". I'm not quite clear on what exactly the last step of each example is requiring. More details please! Thanks.
Hi VeinsX3. You have a few options. There are online distributors who sell on Amazon as well as on their own website pre-mixed colored RAPTOR. U-POL does not offer pre-mixed colored RAPTOR. U-POL does offer Tintable RAPTOR Kits that you can tint yourself. Your local automotive paint store should be able to help color match for you. Do not use waterbased systems to tint RAPTOR®.
Hi Jon. RAPTOR comes in Black and Tintable from the manufacturer. There are some online distributors who sell pre-colored RAPTOR, so if you would like the convenience of skipping the tinting step, you can order from one of these distributors.
PORTER CABLE Model: 150 PSI 6 GAL - 6 Gal. 150 PSI Portable Air Compressor would this compressor be able to apply it ? Also i have been watching alot of videos and the true painters seem to think a higher pressure up to 80 is way better? I have seen a truck with a grey tint look real nice do you know who would offer the product with that tint? maybe charcoal grey or something? Sorry for all the questions but want to do it right the first time.
Visit your local automotive paint (PBE) supply store, and they can help you color match. Keep in mind that for tinting, typically 5% color is required for good opacity. When tinting above 5%, product will need to be mixed out of the bottle in a suitable mixing cup. For best color control, add color by weight. I'm getting the spray kit, ACID 8, and Grip 4 for a paint job with my 1998 jeep tub. I have seen other people using DeNatured Alcohol after sanding before applying ACID 8 and the Paint. Is this a necessary step or just a recommendation? I want to do this correctly and have the longest longevity of the product on my vehicle. Thanks in advance for any response!!
Hi Werner. You can buy the tint from your local automotive paint supply store, and they should be able to help you color match. Hi H S, RAPTOR is a coating made to last, so it is difficult to remove once cured. Once RAPTOR is cured, remove by sanding it off with P80 grit sandpaper either down to the original substrate or to bare metal. Then, respray the surface with another coating, like OEM paint colours.
I'm spraying a 89 jeep cherokee 4 door next weekend with an hplv syphon feed and have 2 kits total of 8liters. iv read that 1 bottle sprays nearly 31sq ft so roughly 6×5 or 3×10. so should 8 bottles be enough for 2 good coats with a 10% thinned out ratio?
Hi svborek. The amount of product needed depends a bit on your application technique, but generally speaking, each bottle of RAPTOR sprays about 30 square feet with 2 coats. To do a complete overspray of your Jeep Cherokee will most likely take 4-5 kits total. It's better to order more than you need so you don't run out mid-application. Many distributors offer free returns of unopened product.
U-POL 4 gallons of paint is WAY to much for my jeep cherokee. I sprayed my truck today. took 4 bottles do the whole truck and 2 more bottles to do the 2nd and third coat and turned out awesome. I have 2 bottles left over out of an 8 bottle pack. I would totally recommend this product for any diy. prep and masking is the WORST but the results are AWESOME and worth the weeks of prep. and I never used the thinned out or the hplv. straight bottle and spray gun.

Hi Rick Morrison. You can tint RAPTOR to any color you want! There is a tintable 4L kit (UP0820, UP0820V, UP0829), a tintable 1L kit (UP4802, UP4804) and tintable 5L pails for larger jobs (UP4851, UP4824 - hardener). Check out all of the great products that U-POL and RAPTOR have to offer on our websites: www.U-POL.com and www.raptorcoatings.com.
I'm not sure what you're asking? RAPTOR is a Protective Coating that is most often used as a truck bed liner, but can be used in many places on a vehicle; industrial, commercial, and agriculture machines and structures; and even around the home on decks and garage floors. You can buy from a local distributor (locate your nearest one here: www.raptorcoatings.com/us/en/stockist-finder. Be sure to select the correct country first) or online. Have I answered your question?
I'm still not sure what you're talking about. Can you tell me what part of the video you're referring to? I'm not hearing him say "ANVIL" anywhere. Visit your local automotive paint (PBE) supply store, and they can help you color match. RAPTOR is compatible with any urethane based color, including 2K acrylic solid color and mixed acrylic basecoats, and can be added up to 10% by volume (ask your paint supplier to leave out the binders if possible for best pigment density.) NOTE: Acrylic basecoat toners tend to have high color strength so use sparingly (less than 10% tint by volume). RAPTOR cannot be used with water based, polyester, or enamel paints.
Do you have to reduce it too get a smooth finish. or can you just turn up the psi with the shutz gun and back off a little bit. How does the ratio and the reducing work when it is like the lime green kit Thanks. And how much on avg does it take to cover a regular cab short bed pickup.
Hi d shook. Do can do either or both. U-POL suggests spraying a test panel before starting your project to find the exact texture and look you're looking for. U-POL does not offer RAPTOR in Lime Green. RAPTOR only comes black, white, or tintable from U-POL, the manufacturer. If you have found a colored kit online, it is likely to have been pre-tinted by the distributor. If you have any questions about a pre-colored product, you will have to contact the distributor directly.
Are you doing a complete exterior overspray or just the bed? For a full vehicle, U-POL suggests buying 4-5 4L kits from a distributor who offers free returns. No one wants to run out of product midway through a project, so buy a little extra with the option to return. For a short bed, 1 4L kit will be plenty. A 4L kit can spray up to 125 square feet or an 8-ft bed depending on your application technique,
Hi Dezmond. One 4L kit of RAPTOR is normally enough to spray a full sized pickup truck bed like yours. If you find you need a little more product, we now offer 1L kits, as well.
You sure can! Raptor has a tintable option (UP0821/0821V). Visit your local automotive paint (PBE) supply store, and they can help you color match. RAPTOR is compatible with any solvent based color, including 2K acrylic solid color and mixed acrylic basecoats, and can be added up to 10% by volume (ask your paint supplier to leave out the binders if possible for best pigment density). NOTE: Acrylic basecoat toners tend to have high color strength so use sparingly (less than 10% tint by volume). RAPTOR cannot be used with water based, polyester, or enamel paints. Read through the Technical Data Sheet for full instructions: www.raptorcoatings.com/files/15378/up0821-TDS-EN
+zayres29 I would estimate that you need about 4 kits (16L) of RAPTOR for this job. You may need a little more or a little less depending on the number of coats you would like to do and the build you're looking for. Take a look at this worksheet for more information on how much product you'll need: www.u-pol.co.uk/documents/catalogues/RAPTOR-U-POL-Indicative-Coverage-EN.pdf
Hi Brian. RAPTOR is a 3:1 mix ratio, so the amount of hardener used is dependent on how much you need to spray, not what type of gun you are using. The easiest way to mix is in the bottle adding about 250ml of hardener to the line on the bottle. After shaking and activating, you can then pour into a gravity feed gun to spray. You can also use a graduated paint mixing cup that has pre-measured ratios if you want to mix outside the bottle.
ok thanks I asked because it mentions in the video to add 10 to 20 % more is that right or not ? .I'm going to spray a 97 grand Cherokee in black raptor I've got 8 bottles
Hi Brian. The voice over is referring to reducer, not hardener, when he speaks about "10 to 20%". For more detailed in formation about mix ratios and how to apply RAPTOR, you can also check out the RAPTOR TDS on our website here: www.u-pol.com/storage/app/uploads/public/58e/fbb/ee5/58efbbee58741636085280.pdf
thanks, i also bought some acid etch #8 primer for the bare metal. when applying the primer should i paint that on with a brush ? or spray with HVLP gun ? if i should spray, what size tip do i need?
Hi MrMrsregor. You could paint it on with a brush, but do so as a very light coat. The recommended application is with a gun with 1.4 nozzle for 1-2 light coats.
cool, thank you . i will spray it on. what do i use to clean the gun with after? would i clean is just like any other paint? and how long can it sit in the shop before raptor lining, a few days ok? the instructions on the can are not very clear, it is just like 4or5 little pictures
Hi MrMrsregor. Keep in mind that POR-15 is not affiliated with nor is it endorsed by U-POL or RAPTOR. U-POL has not done testing on the compatibility of POR-15 and RAPTOR, but we can share anecdotal experience. RAPTOR can be applied over POR-15 when it has become "tack free" but has some drag. Time frames will be determined by atmospheric conditions (4-5 hrs at most or as few as 1.5 hrs). Check the gun manufacturer's recommendations first. Most guns, including our UP0726 application gun, can be cleaned with acetone or mild solvent. Make sure you clean the gun immediately after use (before the product cures). Once the product is hardened inside the gun and pick-up tube, it is very difficult to remove/clean.
Hi Ronald. Are you talking about the UP2253 U-POL System 20 4:1 HIGH BUILD PRIMER? This product is a 4:1 mix ratio with U-POL System 20 hardeners. You can find more detailed technical instructions here: www.u-pol.com/files/2393/up2253-SDS-EN. You can find more detailed product informaiton here: www.u-pol.com/us/en/product/system-20/coatings/primers/41-high-build-primer
RAPTOR and LINE-X are completely different products, the chemistry of each having their own “pros and cons”. RAPTOR is a great cost effective alternative to products like Line-X but it’s difficult to make a direct comparison. RAPTOR is a thinner product which can produce a variety of textures and finishes, depending on the desired outcome and the application equipment used. RAPTOR can be tinted almost any color to meet a variety of color requirements. When properly applied, RAPTOR has very good impact, scuff and chip resistance. Another important feature is “reparability” - should RAPTOR or the underlying substrate become damaged, it is very easy and inexpensive to repair. Additionally, RAPTOR is UV stable and will not fade unlike many of its polyuria competitors.
butt head, I have used it on two truck beds, Jeep fenders, truck grills and I'm getting ready to spray my whole jeep. I have both products in several trucks and with good prep work and heat, Raptor holds up great. plus the price cant be beat, and for me I like it better then other DIY spray on liners.
Thank you for your comment! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that’s what makes America Great! We base our claims on basic science and facts. Did you know Raptor is a 2K Urethane(2-component) coating? Herculiner is a 1K (one-component) coating. 2K coatings outperform 1K coatings in durability, UV resistance, chemical resistance, abrasion, flexibility and longevity. Its why your car is painted with a 2K Urethane from the factory and not in a 1K Acrylic. A coating may look great going on and you’ll be happy with it for a while, but over time a 1K will expose its shortcomings and will “chalk-up”, lose its luster and will never have the durability a 2K can offer from the day you apply it. Just like cars and trucks, there are many brands of coatings out there and everyone has a preference and a reason to purchase their own. At U-POL we want our customers to have the best products for their vehicles.
This is an amazing product. We have added it on 2 different products. It is such an amazing upgrade to any product. We are in love.
I like how it said to hold the gun 24-32 inches away and in the video he is about 10-12 inches away.
yeah this video has a mix of metric and Imperial measurements, so he said inches instead of centimeters.
That is true, T-man. Thanks for the help, and thanks, Marcos for pointing out the error so we could clear that up.
U-POL does it spray better if you reduced it and use a different gun? Cause I really don’t want it to come out with lines/streaks.
Micheal Scott I’ve read that it works better if reduced at 30% in a HPLV gun with a 2.0-2.5mm nozzle
Great video thank you! Exactly what I needed to see because I want to Raptor liner my Range Rover Classic out side and some inside.

is the recommended air pressure set prior to shooting the product, or is that the pressure it should read while shooting? Pressure gauge drops significantly while shooting.

Would be helpful if the mixed pot life was in the data sheets somewhere I could not find it, and not discussed here either. Thanks
Oops! found it on datasheet that pot life is 60 minutes, and the recoat time is also 60 minutes, so to apply 2 coats I will need to mix 2 separate batches?
I would greatly appreciate any tips or insights for what I am trying to do.
can you use unreduced and un catalyzed matrix mpb urethane base coat to tint the raptor tintable bed liner??
For fiberglass what is the best adhesion promoter to use ? About to do my vl commodore soo excited to see how it turns out
Hi Jarrad, Fibreglass needs to be abraded with P180 abrasive, hard to reach areas should be abraded by hand.
Once abraded the surface should be thoroughly degreased. You are now ready to shoot Raptor. Hope it helps
I had someone apply raptor liner to the bottom of my truck . How can I remove it? I was not happy with the results
Warning: Perhaps a dumb question - where online can I buy a "solvent base coat" - Trust that this isnt a lazy commenter, I have looked on google and numerous webpages and found plenty of info from paint manufactures but nothing on where to buy or how.
Is this paintable after it’s dry?
Ask your paint shop but tint-able will fade some. But wait an hour to out-gas and cross-link, then paint a base coat with a hardener. I don’t think a Clear is ever recommended or desired.
Since Raptor can be reduced, I'll try spraying with pressure pot to get a bigger even pattern, rather than the small round pattern that comes out of the schutz gun.
I noticed you also used a spray gun, what was the tip size and pressure at the gun , was it a hvlp gun?
says on the website between 1.4-2.0
@@ShootingzLlamaz Thank you, I'll try with my 1.8
My question is similar to Cody's below but more specific.
You can check our RAPTOR Website for more information on the application: www.raptorcoatings.com
Hope it helps.
How do I clean the included gun in between coats? Just with air pressure or a paint thinner?
Hi Brandon, All equipment should be thoroughly
washed with acetone immediately after use.
You are using a cup gun and the raptor gun. Are you using both to apply raptor?
Got this to spray in my new bed. 8 ft. What's better, raptor or herculiner? I'm sure raptor is
Hi Mike, based on all of our technical work and competition benchmarking, we are confident that RAPTOR offers a market leading combination of UV stability, texture control, color availability and durability. Have a nice day
Hi can you paint raptor over raptor like if you want to change the colour on your vehicle that has been sprayed with raptor.. Cheers
Hi Bruce, Raptor can be overpainted with Raptor indeed. When overpainting, prepare the surface as follows;
Raptor should be allowed to dry for 24-hours. Abrade with a fine abrasive pad to create a matte surface. Clean and degrease. The surface is ready to paint. Hope it helps
Is it paintable?
I was going to use this on a steal bumper and jeep side steps that already have factory paint applied. Would I need any one of your primers or would I just need to rough the surface with sand paper first, clean it, and then apply?
Good morning Rabbert, please check our technical datasheet, you will find all the information you need regarding substrate preparation. Hope it helps
Can I spray it on a vynil rollup truck bed cover?
Can I apply directly to stainless steel with 2 coats of acid #8 or do i need to use grip #4 as well. I'm applying to new side steps and bull bar.
Hi Simon. You'll need to scuff/sand first, and then apply ACID#8 Acid Etch Primer Aerosol. GRIP#4 Universal Adhesion Promoter is not necessary.
Hi Len, Typical dosage is 50ml of color per bottle up to 100ml. With our color pouches use one pouch per bottle maximum.
When you shoot what air pressure do set on air compressor thanks.

For more information on how much RAPTOR you'll need for specific applications, read this: www.u-pol.co.uk/documents/catalogues/RAPTOR-U-POL-Indicative-Coverage-EN.pdf
We do not carry a black metallic version - only black and tintable - but the tintable version offers unlimited customizablity. RAPTOR can be tinted to match any color, so you can add metallic flakes to give the surface a unique shimmer. In this video, Mark is using Black RAPTOR.

I was at a Land Rover show at Stoneleigh today and saw a Land Cruiser totally covered in this stuff in black.I have to say it looked good and was getting a lot more interest than the expedition dvd the guy was presumably trying to sell!
This looks awesome! Can I paint over my chrome bumpers and chrome grill?
Hi VatoLocoCarpenter. Chrome presents some challenges. We cannot guarantee adhesion but reasonable results can be obtained if one of the following is used:
1) Good - Grill - Sand the surface as well as possible, apply two coats of GRIP#4, allow to dry then apply RAPTOR.
What about over polished aluminum?
Hi, If it's been on for 6 months you can safely put the tire shine on it.
what type of paint can I use to tint the liner , besides u-poly? I'm wanting a dark burnt orange

I see you can spray it with a regular spray gun if thinned down some, is a 2.5 mm tip recommended?
2.5 or 3 and you’ll get a much smoother uniform texture.
How durable is it when spraying with hlvp gun as it's not as thick would rocks chip easy
U-POL I want to use it in my hunting truck but I want it in green olive drab ,is it possible?
Can this product be clear coated? and if so how long do I let the raptor cure before applying the clear coat?
RAPTOR can be topcoated, but generally, it's not needed. RAPTOR dries to a semi-gloss/eggshell finish, which most people find to be plenty of gloss. Clearcoats do not have the same level of durability as RAPTOR and are more likely to chip under heavy duty use. Lightly abrade fully cured RAPTOR with a gray scuff pad. U-POL 2K clearcoats, like UP2882 and UP2872V, use the same resin system as RAPTOR so U-POL clearcoats will give the best results. would a 6 gallon 150 psi be able to do the job and i see alot of people in shops that 70 to 80 gives better coverage?
What kind of difference in texture do you receive with it reduced down to be used with a HVLP gun and the gun that fits directly to the bottle? Thanks
How to create common textures with a U-POL® UP0726 Application Gun:
1. Standard texture through Application Gun:
Ø 60 PSI

Ø 2 coats with an even sweeping motion
2. Coarse texture with Application Gun:
Ø Mix RAPTOR® and allow to stand for 10-minutes
Ø 45 PSI
Ø Distance from object: 1.5 foot
Ø 2 coats: 1st with an even sweeping motion
2nd dropping the coat over the first
How to create common textures with a HVLP gun:

Ø Add 15% reducer
Ø 29 PSI
Ø Distance from object: > 0.5 foot
Ø 2 coats: 1st coat: even wet coat

+UPOLONLINE5 thank you for taking the time to reply. The information will be a big help when I spray my 4wd.

Hi Carl, a 1 US Gallon Raptor Kit contains four of Raptor and one tin of hardener. Each kit covers approximately 125 square feet.
im going to apply tinted raptor over my entire pickup via rolling it on.. its a small toyota pickup n has single stage paint.. i am not doing the interior of the bed since i have a plastic insert for the bed.. will a single 4l kit be sufficient?
also, ive so far used maroon scotchbrite pads for the prep.. will that be enough for the mechanical bond?
Good morning, you typically need about 3 kits to do a small pick up truck. 3 kits will be 12 bottles. If your not doing the bed you can probably get it done with 2 kits. You will want to use urethane reducer UP2452 and reduce the Raptor 10% to make it roll easier. You have to sand the surface with a minimum of 180 grit sandpaper. A red scuff pad will not create enough of a scratch in the surface to make the Raptor adhere. Hope it helps, have a nice week end

Hi Rick, we recommend 1.6 - 2.0 mm tip, with up to 15% reducer, 2 BAR, at 0.5 foot from the surface. I bought the primer but i need an empty bottle for mixing and spraying it..anyone know where i can get a 1 liter bottle to fit the kit gun? HELP!
can you apply this to chrome finishes and stock plastics on trucks like the mirrors and on fender flares?
We have had good adhesion on chrome when cleaned, scuffed with a red scuff pad and then apply two coats of GRIP#4 adhesion promoter - apply RAPTOR after GRIP#4 dries. On plastic wheel flares and mirrors - clean the surface well with our anti-silicone aerosol wax and grease remover, lightly scuff, apply two coats of GRIP#4 adhesion promoter and apply RAPTOR.

I'm thinking about doing my excursion and want a smoother finish.

I have a 2014 dodge ram quad cab short bed. about how much raptor would I need to cover the entire truck? thanks
I have an existing bed liner but is like yellow can I apply the black on top of it?
Hi Edwin, yes you can. Scuff it with a red scuff pad, clean with wax and grease remover, apply the next coat of RAPTOR. Apply 1-2 light coats of GRIP#4 in any hard to reach areas according to TDS before re application of RAPTOR. Hope it helps,

How many kits will I need to cover a 1999 Chevy Tahoe

Plus, it is not a catalyzed product and for this reason, we cannot make an informed recommendation.
thanks for the info
Quick question. I just applied raptor inside of my jeep. It has an aluminum body. I sanded with 80 grit. I forgot to spray the acid 8 though. Should I scrape the liner off and do over?
YES! RAPTOR does not adhere directly to Aluminum, so you will have adhesion and durability issues if not immediately, sometime in the future. I'm sorry to hear that you'll have to redo your work, but it will be worth it when your RAPTOR application is fixed by using the ACID#8 first.

U-POL polyethylene
U-POL thanks for the feedback! awesome looking product though
what size tip do you need you use a paint gun? 1.4 or bigger?
RAPTOR is a very versatile product, so a variety of tips could be used depending on the final look and texture you're looking for. How do you thin the raptor liner so it is not as lumpy

- 29 PSI
- Spray at a distance of at least 6" from the surface
- Spray one even, wet coat, and then a second coat reducing the pressure and material flow to achieve a fine mist

Thank you very much for the detailed information. Can't wait to apply the Raptor to my truck.
How kann i remove it if someday i change my mind about the structure, for example.
U-POL so in other words 16 to 20 bottles
Hi svborek. Yes, that is correct.

Can i use a different tint. I want a plum crazy purple.
@@UPOLRaptor this means it's oversprayable?
I WILL TRY IT THANKS
anyone put in too much hardener...like 2x the required amount per liter bottle? what will be the result??
should be fine
where did you buy the anvil paint? What kind? Etc...
Have I answered your question?
the tint of the color in this video...He called it ANVIL. Where can I buy it?
A 4L kit can spray up to 125 square feet or an 8-ft bed depending on your application technique,
Ok thank you
d shook
how many liters do I need to spray a 6 & a half foot bed
Hi Dezmond. One 4L kit of RAPTOR is normally enough to spray a full sized pickup truck bed like yours. If you find you need a little more product, we now offer 1L kits, as well.
Can I change the colour to any one I want??
You sure can! Raptor has a tintable option (UP0821/0821V). Visit your local automotive paint (PBE) supply store, and they can help you color match. RAPTOR is compatible with any solvent based color, including 2K acrylic solid color and mixed acrylic basecoats, and can be added up to 10% by volume (ask your paint supplier to leave out the binders if possible for best pigment density). NOTE: Acrylic basecoat toners tend to have high color strength so use sparingly (less than 10% tint by volume). RAPTOR cannot be used with water based, polyester, or enamel paints. how many liters would I need to do a full exterior color change on a full size crew cab pickup
+zayres29 I would estimate that you need about 4 kits (16L) of RAPTOR for this job. You may need a little more or a little less depending on the number of coats you would like to do and the build you're looking for. Take a look at this worksheet for more information on how much product you'll need:
www.u-pol.co.uk/documents/catalogues/RAPTOR-U-POL-Indicative-Coverage-EN.pdf
+UPOLONLINE5 thank for the reply
so in litres how much harder do you put in a gravity feed gun
For more detailed in formation about mix ratios and how to apply RAPTOR, you can also check out the RAPTOR TDS on our website here: www.u-pol.com/storage/app/uploads/public/58e/fbb/ee5/58efbbee58741636085280.pdf
ok thanks for your help 🖒
1:29 that's not raptor, that's the factory Toyota liner for the hilux
can i paint this over por15 (after sanding, cleaning and degreaseing) ?
Hi MrMrsregor. There shouldn’t be any issue as long as you sand with 180 - 220 for mechanical adhesion prior to application of the RAPTOR.
thanks, i also bought some acid etch #8 primer for the bare metal.
when applying the primer should i paint that on with a brush ? or spray with HVLP gun ? if i should spray, what size tip do i need?
How to mix U-pol surface primer UHS
Hi Ronald. Are you talking about the UP2253 U-POL System 20 4:1 HIGH BUILD PRIMER? This product is a 4:1 mix ratio with U-POL System 20 hardeners. You can find more detailed technical instructions here: www.u-pol.com/files/2393/up2253-SDS-EN. how is the durability of Raptor vs LineX ?
GET READY FOR THE HANDOVER
i want to do my whole car with this
Sounds like a pain in the ass. You didn't mention preparations for the truck
Well I'm guessing you're not happy that a 1k system is rated higher then your 2k system.
Heaven forbid you have to put a little effort into achieving a goal.
