    Visit www.raptorcoatings.com to learn more about RAPTOR Tough and Tintable Protective Coating, and visit www.u-pol.com to learn about all of the great products U-POL has to offer.
    For further instructions on tinting and applying RAPTOR, download the TDS (www.u-pol.com/files/9837/up0821-SDS-EN) or reference the instruction sheet included in the kit box.
    RAPTOR is available in Black, White, and Tintable in National Rule, 2.6 VOC Compliant and 1.7 VOC Compliant formulas. You can find RAPTOR in 1L kits, 4L kits, 2L Roll-On kits, 5L tins and pails, and 200L (55 US GAL) drums.
    U-POL RAPTOR Tough and Tintable Protective Coating is a durable urethane coating that provides surfaces with a protective barrier that can withstand the toughest situations.
    Developed to tolerate most climatic conditions, RAPTOR is UV resistant and won’t fade or “chalk” even after years in the sun. RAPTOR is also waterproof and protects surfaces from rust making it perfect for substrates that will be submerged in water, including salt water.
    RAPTOR’s versatility makes it perfect for almost any application. Spray or roll RAPTOR on high traffic areas; it’s scratch and stain resistant and easy to clean, simply hose it off. Its flexible formulation can handle impacts without cracking, making it perfect for its most popular application as a truck bedliner.
    RAPTOR is unlike other bedliners or protective coatings. 2-component urethane technology far surpasses the durability of epoxy and 1-component coatings. And in case it does scratch (which is tough to do!), RAPTOR can easily be repaired. You can’t do that with most of the other bedliners and protective coatings!
    RAPTOR protects industrial surfaces in the harshest environments as well as the smaller surfaces we rely on every day. It’s durable, tintable, looks great and lasts a long time. When you need a surface protection solution that can stand up to the elements, choose RAPTOR!

    Just installed this product in my truck bed ( 8' bed). First let me say that this is a good product so far. Next let me say that the 4 bottle kit will not cover the entire bed without leaving light spots. I recommend buy at least one more bottle to do a through coverage job. So far it seems to be a really good product and time will tell if it lasts...

    I want to coat the floor on the inside of my trailer. What do I need to do to prep the wood for the Raptor application?
    I've seen a video where polyurethane was applied prior to Raptor install to seal wood and provide a bonding surface. Is this what needs to be done or can you just 80 grit sand bare wood and apply Raptor?
    Any Advice would be appreciated

    I definitely would not use Raptor . I had a steel tray on a 79 series and after 3 Years the product has shrunk and cracked. Now the water has entered the cracks and now the tray is rusting. Upol does not want to know about it and even refused to inspect it. I went Raptor because i was told it was the best product for the application. How wrong they were. Now I have to remove the tray and get it sandblasted and powercoated.

    Hi. I was wondering, I only have a front and rear bumper to spray. Dry time before second coat is one hour. Would the mix in the bottle that I will be using to spray the first coat dry up before I can do the second?

    • @UPOLRaptor
      @UPOLRaptor  6 лет назад +1

      Hi iOoziE. Yes, the mixed/activated RAPTOR has a 60 minute pot life, so after each coat, please immediately remove the bottle from the gun, clean the gun, and dispose of the extra RAPTOR properly. You cannot use the same activated product for multiple coats.
      For smaller areas like with your project, you should mix only the amount you need in a 3 parts RAPTOR to 1 part hardener ratio in a separate mixing container, like a graduated paint mixing cup.

      Hi James. In this video, Kevin reduced RAPTOR by 20%. You can adjust the texture of RAPTOR in a variety of ways by changing the gun, changing the tip size on your HVLP gun, adding different percentages of reducer, changing the distance from the surface you are spraying, etc. RAPTOR can be reduced up to 20%.

    • @UPOLRaptor
      @UPOLRaptor  7 лет назад

      Hi Ant Bass. Can you give a little more info about your application? Do you want to mix the flexible rubber and RAPTOR together, apply RAPTOR over flexible rubber, or spray the flexible rubber over RAPTOR?

    • @antbass1928
      @antbass1928 7 лет назад

      Thank you for the prompt reply! Of course, I simply wish to coat flexible rubber with Raptor.
      Specifically, I plan on coating my rigid plastic fender flares on my Jeep however since I have also attached flexible rubber extensions to the flares I would love to be able to coat them as one piece in order to provide a more uniform look.

    • @UPOLRaptor
      @UPOLRaptor  7 лет назад

      Hi Ant Bass. U-POL has no direct experience with coating rubber with RAPTOR, however many flexible fender flares and extensions are actually plastics, like TPO, EDPM or PP. For the best opportunity for success, treat any flexible component, with the exception of polyethylene (PE can not be successfully coated with RAPTOR) - clean it, lightly abrade it, apply 2 coats of GRIP#4. Allow the GRIP#4 to dry, and then apply RAPTOR. Good luck with your project! what is the difference between the 820, 820-v and the 825?

    • @UPOLRaptor
      @UPOLRaptor  7 лет назад +2

      Hi GhostSix Csgo & More. Each state has adopted its own regulatory limits for the amount of volatile chemicals allowed to be released by paints and coatings. The UP0820 is National Rule, which meets the requirements for most of the USA. UP0820V meets the regulations for a majority of what are called "Low VOC Areas", like Maryland, Delaware, Utah, and a majority of California. UP0825 meets the regulations for the strictest VOC regulations, like in Sacramento County California.
      Another way to put it is UP0820 is standard RAPTOR. UP0820V is a more environmentally friendly formula, and the UP0825 is the most environmentally friendly.
      Keep in mind that U-POL has worked tediously to ensure that you do not notice a difference in application, technical properties, and most importantly, performance among the three formulas a RAPTOR.
      If you have further questions about which formula to use, check with your local or state regulatory office for their regulatory limits on VOCs or volatile chemicals in automotive paint products and coatings.

    How do you change the gloss?

    • @UPOLRaptor
      @UPOLRaptor  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Dave, Most paint manufacturers provide proprietary matting agents that are used in other 2K products, and these are suitable for use in RAPTOR. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. Please note this may reduce RAPTOR’s flexibility. To add more gloss, RAPTOR can be topcoated, but generally, it's not needed. RAPTOR dries to a semi-gloss/eggshell finish, which most people find to be plenty of gloss. Clearcoats do not have the same level of durability as RAPTOR and are more likely to chip under heavy duty use. Lightly abrade fully cured RAPTOR with a gray scuff pad. U-POL 2K clearcoats, like UP2882 and UP2872V, use the same resin system as RAPTOR so U-POL clearcoats will give the best results.

    Hi if I'm going to do my whole truck in raptor liner, how long should I wait to start driving it around again?

    • @UPOLRaptor
      @UPOLRaptor  6 лет назад

      RAPTOR is touch dry in about 1 hour and thoroughly cured in 5-7 days. Higher temperatures will result in shorter flash time, and colder temperatures will require a longer flash time. Higher film builds will extend the final cure time. Reducing flash off time, excessive film build, and/or reduced temperatures will alter drying time. Do not allow RAPTOR to come in contact with water for at least 72 hours.

    • @totalmayhemleather4030

      U-POL ok thanks, I'm in Florida so I won't have problems with the high temps but the 72 hours out of water will be tricky but I'll figure it out thank you

    Could you use Raptor on wheel rims?

    • @UPOLRaptor
      @UPOLRaptor  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Brad. Yes, RAPTOR can be applied to both steel and alloy wheels. The prep is the same as the truck bed application: sand with 180 grit, use ACID#8 Acid Etch Primer or epoxy primer over exposed bare metal, and apply. For more detailed application instructions, reference the instruction sheet included in the kit or the TDS online on our website: www.u-pol.com/files/9838/up0820-SDS-EN

  • @ekluge77
    @ekluge77 7 лет назад

    Can you top coat Raptor?

    • @UPOLRaptor
      @UPOLRaptor  7 лет назад +2

      Hi ekluge77. RAPTOR can be topcoated, but generally, it's not needed. RAPTOR dries to a semi-gloss/eggshell finish, which most people find to be plenty of gloss, so no need for clearcoat. Also, RAPTOR comes in a tintable version. It's better add color directly to the tinatble coating than to apply and use color over top.
      Any topcoat you apply over RAPTOR will not have the same durability and protective characteristics as RAPTOR, so if you apply to the bed of a work truck or another area that will be getting a beating, you may experience chipping of the clearcoat while the RAPTOR will still intact. Applying a clearcoat over RAPTOR on the exterior of your vehicle will probably be okay as long as you are not too hard on the exterior of the vehicle. If you have more technical questions, feel free to comment again here or call into our main office for immediate technical help at (610) 746-7081.
