      Thank you brother! I met some desert storm vets and a couple Vietnam vets a few years ago that took me under their wings and helped me out. They told me to make sure I give back to my fellow vets! That's exactly what I'm here to do! Thanks for watching. Semper Fi!

      Yes but you will need a nexus letter from a doctor thst it was “least as likely than not” caused by your military service.

    Hello. I love listening to you. Thank you for your service. I have a question. I currently have 10% for Tinnitus and after that I filed a new claim for Hearing loss (NEW) and 2 secondary claims ti Tinnitus (Migraines & Hyperacusis) at my in person C& P exam for Hearing loss the Doc told me he was ruling I’m my favor for Hearing loss and Hyperacusis. I also had a plethora of paperwork to back it up, Nexus letters and whatnot. A few weeks later I was scheduled for a C& P exam over the telephone for Migraines. When the doc called me she barely asked me any questions and must’ve said 10 times that she needed to finish reading the documents and paperwork I submitted. which was substantial. The whole thing lasted 5 min and at the end she said again that she needs to go thru my paperwork. Is this normal? I will be submitting another secondary claim for Depression and Anxiety very soon. Should I wait until these claims are finished before submitting more ? Thank u for your time.

    Hey man. unless the 'rules' have changed lately, the condition does NOT have to be "caused by your active duty service" as you stated @ 0.22 - you had it right when you said "occurred while on active duty".

      @@berlinbear11b18 i think they would be covered because it would get documented by the hospital. getting hospital records is different than unit medical records. call that hospital and ask how to get copies of your records from the hospital. unless you put them in your record folder yourself they do not get entered. i made sure all my records went to headquarters marine corps. because i put them in myself before turning in my folder. and i made all the copies i needed. i have cd of my mri scans in my records i added in.

    If you already have a service connected disability and you plan to file a secondary claim to that disability, why would you need a nexus letter since your original disability has already been proven to be service connected? I am so confused, wanting to file but everything is so convoluted. I am really struggling with the paperwork. I'm 75 years old (Vietnam Era) and confused.

      just make an appt with a VSO and file a claim. The US govt and the VA are so f'd up now, and run by a bunch of cowards and career politicians, they got 20 vet .suicides a day, they left us all out too too long now, they will get back to you cause they dont want you to off yourself too, im at a vet center weekly and there's vets there that never saw a day of combat that are working full time and getting 100% , $3,333 a mo. file it dude., get that tax free money. Dont feel guilty at all Im TDIU %100 P and T for life.

      @ForTheCorps  Год назад +4

      You need a Doctor or a medical professional to give their opinion on whether or not that Secondary Condition was caused or made worse by your Primary Service Connected Disability. There needs to be medical evidence to back it up. I will make a video detailing this. Stay tuned my friend!

    Great info to know!
    I am currently 100% for this past year because I was diagnosed with kidney cancer from Camp Lejuene water contamination. I had right kidney removed last Sept. and after a year VA had decreased my benefits to 30% saying I'm in remission and I don't meet the requirements of 100%.
    I currently am seeing mental health for documented sleep apnea, low blood platelets(could lead to leukemia) and kidney function is 1/2 of the GFR rate of 45-48 GFR..NOT 80-120 GFR.
    I'm currently going to the VA 2-3 times a week for these appt.
    They've placed me on depression meds along with a lot of appointments and sleep meds and possibly a cpap machine...question is...do you think they will raise my benefit rating. Its due to go to 30% Dec.1st next month.
    I don't want to come right and ask them or should I?
    I will awit your reply.
    Semper Fi,
    Harry

    • @ForTheCorps
      @ForTheCorps  Год назад +1

      I am sorry to hear that brother. Typical VA! It sounds like you need to start filing some secondary claims! If you're rated at 30% for Kidney Cancer and this is what caused your Depression, then you need to get a doc to write you a nexus linking the two. Its obvious to us that this is what caused it, but the VA wants a clear nexus. If your doc isn't willing to write one, you might have to find a private doc. Sleep apnea can be secondary service connected to mental health disorders, but a nexus would be required for this as well. Unless you were seen for sleep apnea while in service, but most vets weren't.
      Hope that helped, don't hesitate to reach out!

    I’m diagnosed with ptsd with a 70% rating for it. I suffered a TBI during my deployment that is documented in my military records. The thing with my case is that if I file for a TBI claim, the VA will pyramid my ratings. I feel that my TBI residuals are prevalent, but I’m scared to open a claim for TBI.

    • @ForTheCorps
      @ForTheCorps  Год назад +1

      If you're trying to secondary connect a disability to a primary service connected disability, you'll need the nexus, a diagnosis and current symptoms.

    • @ForTheCorps
      @ForTheCorps  Год назад +3

      You need to have a diagnosis for your anxiety. If you don’t you’d need to set an app with your doc and talk about how your tinnitus has caused your depression and anxiety if that’s the case and get a diagnosis for it. You’ll most likely need a nexus though since it’s a secondary claim.
