I think Eight Crazy Nights would be an amazing film if: 1. Whitey was a little less pathetic. Make Eleanor his wife instead of his sister because, well, did they have to make him an elderly incel? 2. Give Whitey a less annoying voice. 3. Make the townsfolk less mean to Whitey, but they just don't appreciate it. It's hard to do the whole "asshole learns a lesson" story when everyone in town is worse than Davey, because Davey at least doesn't pretend to be a good person. 4. Dial down the toilet humor. Don't erase it completely; just have less of it. 5. Let the serious parts be serious. 6. More focus on the holiday. I mean, how many Hanukkah movies are there? Plus, as someone who grew up in New Hampshire, I appreciate it being featured in an animated feature.
Your feelings towards "Eight Crazy Nights" and "North" is how I feel about "Monkeybone". It's not good, but it's just so bizarre I can't help but keep coming back to it. Also, I think a lot of that the visuals in "Monkeybone", especially it's mix of live-action and stop-motion, are genuinely impressive and don't get the credit they should.
It's closer to the book than the '70s film, even to the point of Danny Elfman utilising the book's lyrics for the Oompa Loompas. The different styles of music were a nice touch.

@@henrymockingbird9645 The Jungle Book is a bad comparison. The Jungle Book remake actually uses many plot elements from Disney's old movie that weren't in the book. It does have more references to the book, but these are merely homages, and the film is for the most part still a retelling of the same story from the older film. A more legitimate comparison would have been to ask whether Disney's animated Jungle Book was a remake of the 1940s Jungle Book film with Sabu (it's not). With Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it was deliberately made to be a direct adaptation of the book with no connection to the older film, to the point that Tim Burton hired a screenwriter who had never seen the older movie and also fought the studio hard on almost every single reference or homage to the older movie they tried to force him to insert into the film. Fat Albert is actually pretty brilliant. They put a lot of thought into how cartoon characters would react and operate in the real world. There was a vision behind it for sure.
Eight Crazy Nights was something I didn't really enjoy as a young adult but it kinda grew on our family and now its a staple of our Christmas collection, right next to all the claymations. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was true to the source material and visually stunning, even if Depp was playing the same character he seems to always play
😊😊😊😊For me, I always love both SCOOB! and Space Jam 2: A New Legacy and I still own them on DVD. Both Films are so much fun and enjoyable to watch, but they're just misunderstood and very underrated at the same time. SCOOB! and Space Jam 2: A New Legacy don't deserve to be hated THAT much. I would give them 100/100.
Finally someone else who thinks Thor the Dark World is okay. Also I don’t care about popular belief Hoodwinked is a hilarious and charming animated classic. Hey at least Toonriffic Tariq can enjoy Fat Albert (2004) with you. Thank You once again Trevor for helping me just how many things there are to love about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and that I can love both it and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory equally.
The movies I love and everyone else hates is the Fred movie trilogy sure most of jokes can be seen as not funny and Fred’s constant screaming can really get to you but I enjoy them for some of its surrealist humor especially in the later films, of course John Cena’s performance as Fred’s dad, and for being the first of its kind in taking RUclipsrs and making feature films out of them something that is still happening to this day. But hey at least the Fred movies performed and fared better than Ryan’s World the Movie right?
Yeah I agree. The first Fred movie is really good for what it is, until around the end lol he def should’ve ended up with Bertha. I like how dumb the 2nd one is even though it definitely feels more like a tv movie since it came out around when the Fred show was on Nickelodeon I think. The third one definitely is the worst of the three but it has it moments of stupidity that makes it still not unbearable to watch or anything.
Batman and Robin is a classic . If I recall isn't this version the one that had the nip armor? In case you've never noticed I really wanna say the 97' adaptation both Batman and Robin had Lil nip bumbs built into the armor lol
The more I watch Batman and Robin, the more I tend to appreciate it. Despite how moronic it is, it's one of the few movies out there that isn't afraid to be a comic book
Never seen North at all but it looks like a very entertaining movie overall. I’m a big fan of Rob Reiner so I’ll have to check it out soon too. A sequel to this is spinal tap is coming out next year as a matter of fact.
Someone made an interesting point about Hoodwinked in another video that another thing that sets the film apart from Shrek (as well as other films at the time that try to copy it like Chicken Little), is that it's not cynical.
My personal favorite films that you listed are Eight Crazy Nights and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. For the former, I like the songs and most of the humor Adam Sandler and the crew put into the animated film. For the latter, I appreciate the film for remaining loyal to the source material, as well as the effort and energy the cast and crew - Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, and Johnny Depp included - provided. The other films I like are Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005), the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog films (1 (2020) and 2 (2022), 3 is coming up at the end of this year), The Phantom of the Opera (2004), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Matilda the Musical (2021), The Little Rascals (1994), and The Wonderful World of Disney’s Annie (1999).
Here are some movies that I like that everyone else hates Ironic Enjoyment/Guilty Pleasures: Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip Norbit Big Momma’s House Genuine Enjoyment: The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle The Live Action Garfield Movies The Ant Bully Igor Despicable Me 3 The Angry Birds Movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water Home on the Range The Secret Life Of Pets Antz The Great Gatsby (2000) Macbeth (2010) Minions Tom and Jerry: The Wizard of Oz Peter Pan: Return to Neverland Bee Movie Barnyard (2006) Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted
a few movies that others hate but I liked - Cat in the Hat Live Action movie - Shark Tale - the Playmobil movie from a few years ago - Super Mario Bros Live Action Movie from the 80s - Lightyear
Compared to the 5-year-old video from TAS productions, the movies on both lists are: - Summer Rental - Rock-A-Doodle - Wagons East - Charlie and the Choclate Factory 5 years of changed opinions and 2/5 of the list is the same.
Well, it's been a while since I posted a comment under your videos, so... Here goes: -The Star Wars Prequels -Batman Forever -XXX (my most recent film I like that everyone dislikes, BTW) -Resident Evil (2002) -Alien 3
Good list, i like some movies on this list as well! Also before you retire from youtube i wanted to recommend you a show you might enjoy called father ted from ireland, absolutely amazing and hilarious! Not for a video but for casual watching.
One thing I don't get about North is how random some of the ways they portray certain cultures. I mean, I least get the common stereotypes, like the costumes in Texas or the funerals in Alaska, but there are many ways they portray other cultures that are just bizarre and random, like why is Texas the only country with a musical number? Why does North's Alaskan family whistle the Andy Griffith show theme at one point? Is his Hawaiian family using a billboard of his bare buttcrack to attract tourists a reference to how Hawaiians are known for dressing loosely? What kind of history classes does this kid go to to dream like this?!
Eight Crazy Nights is a movie to you like Switch is to me. Its not the best but I honestly like it. There's just something about the idea that makes it beautiful and funny. Its still a dumb movie about a man being pregnant but hey it's still a fun time. I also agree on Eight Crazy Nights and Summer Rental. I even liked Hoodwinked
Here are some of mine -Thomas and the Magic Railroad -Cat in the Hat 2003 -Freddy Got Fingered -Cars 2 -Space Jam 2 -Chip n Dale 2022 -Grown Ups -Batman and Robin -The Angry Birds Movie -Minions
I got lots of those: Iron Man 3 Thor: The Dark World Cars 2 The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Superman Returns X-Men: The Last Stand X-Men: Apocalypse X-Men Origins: Wolverine The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Karate Kid Part III These ones are more ironically enjoyed: Hudson Hawk Catwoman Meet the Spartans
eight crazy nights is decent and i'm sick of saying it's not! it's certainly not perfect but it's a fun movie with a surprising amount of heart to it and some dope animation
Van Helsing would be my pick and also Freaked, The Island of Doctor Moreau (1996), Nothing But Trouble, Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. Is Nothing But Trouble a perfect movie, no it is not, it is Dan Aykroyd's twisted vision come to life and everyone does a good job...including John Candy who plays the judge's grandson who is a police officer and also the sister of the police officer (and he actually pulls off drag well really) and Aykroyd is clearly having fun as the creepy judge. Also Mars Attacks.
I actually liked Batman and Robin, as well. Maybe it’s because I watched it way later than most people, but I was able to have at the stupidity of it all.
I got lots of those: Fat Albert 2004 Superman Returns Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2005 Hey Arnold the Movie Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer Scoob Luck Pixar’s Onward Transformers Rise of the Beasts Hoodwinked
Fun fact the author of Charlie and the Chocolate factory did not like the original movie with Gene Wilder funnily enough. His aim was always to still be whimsical despite darkness so the second movie achieved that a lot more. I feel the same way. Also Hoodwinked is jank but I think its fun if youre invested in the characters and theyre pretty cool and well rounded, even if the plot is weird
Glad to know there's someone who actually LIKES "Eight Crazy Nights". I haven't seen it (the Sandler film, that is), but I'd say if there's a holiday movie that is more worthy of the title of the worst, look no further than "The Christmas Tree" (Be prepared for a large comment. Hope you like reading)! If, by chance, you haven't heard of it, it's a "special", that was first released on VHS back in September of 1991 by Family Home Entertainment (aka FHE), and aired on television for a bit. It has gained a (in my book deservedly) bad rap for its dull story and characters (it doesn't even have to do with Christmas that much, even with its obviously hogwash moral of "you always win when you are good"), and animation that somehow makes it look both limited, AND like the characters are experiencing constant muscle spasms. Not to mention the voice acting is so bad that it probably makes Whitey's voice acting sound first-rate! I'm talking the characters sound like they're either on a caffeine crash, insane, or drunk as a fish in rum! I've heard people like The Nostalgia Critic say that it could be the holiday special-equivalent of Tommy Wiseau's "The Room". And, to be honest, due to how incompetent it is, and its release's close proximity to six films that I plan to see probably during the holiday season (I call them the "1991 Holiday Cinematic Sextet"; they are "Father of the Bride", "Bugsy", "Hook", "The Addams Family", and the two animated films "An American Tail: Fievel Goes West", and Disney's legendary adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast"), I wonder what it would be like if they padded "The Christmas Tree"'s story out from 40 minutes to a feature-length film, and were foolish enough to release it in theaters! I mean, it would be a glorious box office bomb caught in the crossfires of Amblimation's first project, one of the best films of the Disney Renaissance, and a very entertaining adaptation of Charles Addams' characters by the director of "Men in Black". I mean, if even just the animated films of the sextet have a big enough impact to move "Rock-a-Doodle" (which was released in theaters in the UK and Ireland in August of that year) to near Easter 1992, who knows what they would do to "The Christmas Tree", other than utterly flatten it at the box office?
Some for me: Speed Racer Street Fighter 1994 Son of the Mask Freddy vs Jason Halloween 2007 Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 Friday the 13th 2009 Hulk 2003 X-Men Origins Wolverine
Nostalgia critic reviewed north once. Question, was the guy more right about that, than pink floyd's the wall? Really not want that guy being right otherwise magma paint's credibility out!

do people hate Clerks 2? personally, I find it funnier than the first film, and I like the original. and yes, being in color did play a big factor. also, Cat in the Hat and Rugrats Go Wild if I wanna time travel to 2003.
Don't want to leave to as a millennial thing but I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I can even forgo the Christopher Lee daddy issues thing the remake had, I just enjoyed the songs that much as a kid. So I guess Deep Roy > Nasty Dentist Christopher Lee
Deep Roy deserved respect for playing every Oompa Loompa and lip-syncing Danny Elfman's voice in their songs. He even had to take up the guitar and other instruments for Mike Teavee's song.
My takes: 8 Crazy Nights - Never seen it. Probably never will. North - Saw it as a kid. Thought it was boring then, but that was about 30 years ago, so who knows. Batman and Robin - Fart movie. None of the actors playing the heroes are trying. Arnold and Uma are the only ones who seem to want the movie to be successful. Summer Rental - Saw this for the first time a few months ago. It was fine. No reason to love it, but no reason to hate it either. Thor: The Dark World - Never seen it. Rock-a-Doodle - That kid with his baby talk makes the movie insufferable. They put him in a handful of movies at the time and he makes all of them unwatchable. Maybe it's an okay movie around him, but I will never be able to see it when I'm paying more attention to my ears developing wax in self-defense. Wagons East - I genuinely don't get the hate for this movie. I really like it and think it's a solid comedy. Hoodwinked - I didn't even know this movie was hated. Everyone I know likes it. Fat Albert - This movie is a mess. It is the most sloppily written thing I've ever seen among major motion pictures. There's a few good laughs, but half of those are unintentional. This should have been a straight to TV, put the kids in front of it "because they don't know better" film. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Undeserved hate I'm pretty sure that the vast majority are people who hate this are just people who were going to hate it solely because they saw the original first. Comparing both movies without snobbery, the two come out fairly equally. Both have positives over the other and neither one has many negatives within themselves. It's a good movie. At the least, it should be seen as almost as good as the Wilder film. At most, a slight improvement. Me personally, I'm a Charlie guy; but I don't default the Wonka people (at least not the one's that don't have unnecessary hate for this film).
_Charlie_ was closer to the source material and they not only updated Mike Teavee's character but his behaviour is more on point to the screen addicted archetype.
I'll give 4 movies I love that everyone else hates: Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans Death to Smoochy Blankman And 1 movie I hate that won best freaking picture: Crash
Oh shit, you’re the guy who made that whole long video on “Charlie” being better than “Willy Wonka” version. And now that I know that, why am I still here? Why tf am I still listening to you talk? I kid I kid….sort of

Wow, it’s been 4 years I’ve been watching your videos and content, but thanks and moving on into your new career! 😀👍🏽
8 Crazy Nights is my absolute favorite movie
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was true to the source material and visually stunning, even if Depp was playing the same character he seems to always play
I liked the lizard film producer from hoodwinked, he's got a silly design.
I liked the Tim Burton of “Charlie and the chocolate factory” because it’s the faithful and accurate to the book.
Okay, that's way too much, buddy.
@@wyattgoralski818 Sorry
@@thefantasticretroreviewer3941 Not a problem.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY SUPREMACY
Ralph Breaks the Internet.
Homie, the 'background' music is not that background! Lol!
Rob zombies Halloween is a movie I love but everyone else hates
While there's another Christmas movie that's considered to be an underrated masterpiece to me is "Christmas with the Kranks".
Someone made an interesting point about Hoodwinked in another video that another thing that sets the film apart from Shrek (as well as other films at the time that try to copy it like Chicken Little), is that it's not cynical.
Rock-a-doodle is amazing! I never watched it as a kid, only later when seeing it on Tubi I was like, yeah, let's see how this is. Surprisingly decent.
Jim Carrey was the perfect Ivo Robotnik.
BATMAN AND ROBIN IS SO GOOOOOOD WHY DO PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND CAMP
I guess most people like more the "Gritty Batman" of the early years than the campy one of the Silver Age/60s.

a few movies that others hate but I liked
- Cat in the Hat Live Action movie
- Shark Tale
- the Playmobil movie from a few years ago
- Super Mario Bros Live Action Movie from the 80s
- Lightyear
Wait, People hated Hoodwinked?
Compared to the 5-year-old video from TAS productions, the movies on both lists are:
- Summer Rental
- Rock-A-Doodle
- Wagons East
- Charlie and the Choclate Factory
5 years of changed opinions and 2/5 of the list is the same.
Well, it's been a while since I posted a comment under your videos, so... Here goes:
-The Star Wars Prequels
-Batman Forever

I even liked Hoodwinked

eight crazy nights is decent and i'm sick of saying it's not! it's certainly not perfect but it's a fun movie with a surprising amount of heart to it and some dope animation
Here's a Movie I Love

The Good Dinosaur
I actually liked Batman and Robin, as well. Maybe it’s because I watched it way later than most people, but I was able to have at the stupidity of it all.

Hey Arnold the Movie
Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Scoob

Pixar’s Onward
Transformers Rise of the Beasts
Hoodwinked
Fun fact the author of Charlie and the Chocolate factory did not like the original movie with Gene Wilder funnily enough. His aim was always to still be whimsical despite darkness so the second movie achieved that a lot more. I feel the same way.
Also Hoodwinked is jank but I think its fun if youre invested in the characters and theyre pretty cool and well rounded, even if the plot is weird
@@BeeblingzI think I know about that.
I’d even call Hoodwinked one of the best fairy tail spoofs along with Shrek.

Some for me:
Speed Racer
Street Fighter 1994
Son of the Mask
Freddy vs Jason
Halloween 2007
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010
Friday the 13th 2009
Hulk 2003
X-Men Origins Wolverine

I actually like hoodwinked
John candy looked awful in wagons east!! People felt awful for him
I liked the Tim.Burton version before it was cool
Don't want to leave to as a millennial thing but I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I can even forgo the Christopher Lee daddy issues thing the remake had, I just enjoyed the songs that much as a kid. So I guess Deep Roy > Nasty Dentist Christopher Lee
Deep Roy deserved respect for playing every Oompa Loompa and lip-syncing Danny Elfman's voice in their songs. He even had to take up the guitar and other instruments for Mike Teavee's song.
My takes:
8 Crazy Nights - Never seen it.
_Charlie_ was closer to the source material and they not only updated Mike Teavee's character but his behaviour is more on point to the screen addicted archetype.
eight NORMAL nights
I'll give 4 movies I love that everyone else hates:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
Death to Smoochy
Blankman
And 1 movie I hate that won best freaking picture:
