Man i am 41 and this brings me back to the summer of 94 & 95. OJ trial, Chips reruns.. I always think while watching reruns of this, that everything seemed so clean, proper, wholesome back then (70s La).. Everything jist seemed so wonderful back then. This series has a way of making you wonder about how cool life was back then. Thanks for these.

Great comparison!! Flashback moment, at 3:07 my dad used to buy those blue and white Steer Manure bags from our local hardware store Builders Emporium.

I miss 1970's CA. Love the look of that old Oshman's storefront.

We moved to Northridge not too far from here from Chicago in 1979 after this was filmed, and I was shocked to see the location in person. I didn't realize that pretty much EVERYWHERE in L.A. was one big film set, lol. My parents still live in the same house we moved into when we moved to L.A., and it wasn't until about 2017 that I found clips from the original Man from UNCLE (circa 1966) and one scene a car pulled up into the home across the street! Our house was not filmed, however, but the neighborhood was and it was interesting seeing how much things have stayed the same. CHiPs related--a scene was filmed about a block and a half circa 1980s from our house and I was able to watch them film it (the intersection of Tampa and Chatsworth). Don't even get me started a few miles away where they filmed a lot of the neighborhood scenes of E.T....

I had a light blue PUCH moped that I bought in 1984 for $25. I was 16. You have to pedal it like a bicycle to get it going...

Hardly anyone except police departments bought that generation of big Dodge.

@Dan Cline I mean, there were retail buyers but they tended to be a sub-subset of the "Mopar or no car" hard core. And Chryco was pretty assertive about upselling their big-car seekers to the Chrysler Newport.

I wonder if Oshman's went out of business because of the incident with Genghis Khan in San Dimas?
