"CHiPs" is a popular American television series that aired on NBC from 1977 to 1983. The show followed the adventures of two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers, Officer Jon Baker and Officer Frank "Ponch" Poncherello, as they patrolled the highways and freeways of Los Angeles. While maintaining law and order on the busy roads, the two officers also formed a close friendship and partnership.
The series offered a blend of action, drama, and humor, with each episode featuring a mix of thrilling high-speed chases, crime-solving, and personal interactions among the characters. Officer Baker, portrayed by Larry Wilcox, was the more serious and reserved of the two, while Officer Poncherello, played by Erik Estrada, added a touch of charm and humor to the series.
"CHiPs" was known for its iconic motorcycle sequences and the signature uniforms worn by the officers. Loved watching this as a kid.
After all those years and only one actor from the show has passed on, that alone is impressive. More than half looks good for their age. Was a great show, watched it every week

Randy Oaks actually started as a car thief on this show. I like Mrs. Downing. That crazy old lady was hilarious. As far as regulars I liked Larry Wilcox.

I loved CHIPS then and still do today. I liked all the characters so I don't have a preference although Erik Estrada stood out as the backbone of the series.

Favourite star was Tina Gayle and Brianne Leary. That voice and that smile was the bee's knees to a teen age boy lol. Other than those two it was the Kawasaki KZ1000 bikes. Favourite season would be all of them.
I love the whole cat everybody that was behind the scenes and all the actors and actresses. That’s what made it a show you know most of everybody’s closer to the years that my dad was born and 41 never got that age but everybody’s pretty close to my dad’s age, I’m 53 years old and and most everybody’s retired now, so seeing in the reruns, I wish they could bring them all back you know kinda hard not to watch it like emergency and now your old I wish it was on MeTV being what I am I was a young kid

Favorite seasons were 1, 2, and 3 when they were actually on the freeways.
Favorite episode was S1E22 “Flashback” where we learn how Ponch and Jon met, and S2E4 “Disaster Squad” the scene where Ponch rescues the boy from the LA aqueduct.

this was my show as a kid. but when you look at it now you'll notice what ever chase they got into when they finally caught up with the suspect(s) they just run up and grab them. I've yet to see them pull their guns. 😂😂🤣🤣
