This video is funny, but I think it also highlights another pretty important point IMO: fun should always trump realism. I don't care if a game is the most realistic as long as it is fun.
Well... Okay, but different game genres have different goals that are supposedly dictated by what the player base would consider "fun" and so maybe it is fair to assume a stealth experience should be punishing to players who stand directly in the enemies' sightline.
To be fair, MGSV and Dishonored 2 already had the best NPC's visibility and detection rate to this date. No next-gen stealth game come close to these games
I mean, I always thought the guards had pretty good eye sight compared to other games, for example in alot of stealth games crouching makes you near invisible, but in this one you gotta know how to properly sneak around while crouched or you will be spotted, its just like standing but your frame is down a bit. But that all goes FLYING out the window when you are proned. When camouflaged, they won't spot the giant 6'1 man known as Venom Snake, even when literally 2m away (if in dark, w/o dark its like 5m but still). Its crazy. Still, this games stealth is better/harder then most other games, atleast in my opinion.
2 meters away? You must be getting lucky! In the game without mods, you will always get spotted/alert at 7 meters with stealth mode. Even with the proper camouflage. However, I have mods that make camouflage useful, but albeit a little over powered.
@@it6647 There are four camouflage mod packs you can download. Which are MGS3, MGS4, MGS5 and MGS Peace Walker. MGS4 Is the one I use and is the most overpowered. Oh yeah each of the packs should change the sneaking suits too! Such as for MGS3 the sneaking suits have a camouflage buff on any environment, and it should affect DLC camouflage patterns too. Hell, if you want to wear the golden or silver suit, go for it as an added challenge. If you're using MGS4, I recommend you to wear the "gravel" camouflage to blend in with the majority of Afghanistan. Apparently "desert fox," and "desert ambush" or the majority of desert camouflage doesn't work in Afghanistan and is ONLY meant for PURE sand. To which, there isn't a lot of enemies where there is pure sand. If you're in Africa, woodland is really nice to blend in with dirt/muddy environments. You don't even need foliage, just lay there and stay still. Tiger Stripe (red) and (golden) are good options for Africa as well. And so is many of the greenery camouflage too. Edit: I forgot to include that Woodland is excellent at blending in with trees. So, leaves/wood. Urban environments that have wooden floors you can blend in with perfectly with the camouflage. Enemies are going to have to be around 1-2 meters to spot you and it will take them a second or two to actually go "Oh snap that's a person laying right there!" However, that's only if you're in the right terrain. Oh yeah that's right. There is certain camouflage that can blend in with terrain without foliage and camouflage that needs the right terrain but also foliage to blend in. Do you know about grabbing the enemy? In various ocassions you punched the enemy, starting the evasion status, instead of just grabbing and chocking. 13:35
They should have made a custom difficulty settings where you can tune the vision distance, reaction speed and all that things in the base game... It's good this game can be modded on a Master Race at least =D
See, now this is how this game should be played. Each MGS game should have this setting available, named "Actually Realistic", like the range of vision for everyone being like a normal human, actual human health, etc.. Now this would be fun!
Design wise, their vision should have been based on difficulty settings. When they spot you, they switch to binoculars to confirm identity. If you evade their eyesight they call support for confirmation. If you code it well enough you could make it so that the AI could get you confused with a friendly soldier in that area, unless both were spotted at the same time. Then they begin a search and sweep until they find you or get an all clear.

Just land to the north of the base, head towards the cliff north of it, grab your sniper, wait for the commander to come out and headshot him
Yeah, I was thinking the same the whole time, this mission doesn't require that much work. He should try doing a hostage extraction side-op in OKB0 like that.
0:43 what's this sound effect from?
Ocelot boss battle on MGS3
the bit at 3:29 was hilarious, with the double whatever word that was, sounded japanese
The second you used part of the Keiichiro cry/scream from Ghost Stories I knew I was gonna love your editing
15:46 HAHA I didn't expect to hear cantonese here
This was such a strange watch and I thouroughly enjoyed it! :3
I know this video is a year old, but your editing is fucking brilliant. That little limmy bit is so niche fucking great. Definitely subbing.
11:02 oh my god beastchild edits
looks better than a lot of ps5 games still
I just subbed. Will be watching your videos. Keep it up
I was just thinking about how this would be an awesome mod, and then this video came up
Now you need to mod the damage, cause no way in hell you take so many bullets and survive.
Funny because I liked to play like they're senses were better than in vanilla game. Knowing that you can actually bump it up, makes me wanna try that game again. Can't imagine first meeting with Quiet.
That rain made me wonder if I’ve ever played the game! Hahaha but… mods!
Nice video! You rock
It's crazy too see how many views these vids have for modded MGSV in the year 2024
The DB music in the intro was the cherry on top.
Playing MGSV in 2023. Mad respect.
can't believe you're still mgs posting, i remember your streams from like a decade ago
i haven't even watched the video yet but
i applaud you for including a canadian TV rating exactly how I remember them from when I watched TV as a kid
you can actually knock out guards with throwing the magazine directly at their head instead of using decoys.
great video! I'm happy to see high quality videos on metal gear in 2023.
man you deserve more subscribers, fun and entertainment content
This is such quality content, I'm loving this!
This is what it feels like to play Arma 3 with high level bots.
dang i should play the whole game like this
Don't you think this is too much lol, i mean increasing stats for enemies can make it much more fun, but this looks too tough, each mission would take ages😂
@@Lonely.wolf03 yeah the base game was way too easy. but ive played the whole series on extreme
3:30 Where is that sound from? Anyone know?
This is a good way to make the game as unenjoyable as possible
I love stuff like this. The reallistic aspect makes every victory very rewarding
I'd definitely want to finish mgsv with this difficulty
Glad to see you back looking forward to more vids!
MGS5 is a weird game that require you to play every level 3 times:
1) Initial run
2) Getting all the side objectives
3) S-rank a.k.a. speedrun
Usually you can knock all of those out in one.
Please make this a series por favor
I need a MGS: Dark Souls Edition. Brutal difficulty like this.
To be honest people in real life you can walk right up on. Everyone’s face is buried in their phones. I do it all the time
Nice editing my man
Do you know about grabbing the enemy? In various ocassions you punched the enemy, starting the evasion status, instead of just grabbing and chocking. 13:35
They should have made a custom difficulty settings where you can tune the vision distance, reaction speed and all that things in the base game... It's good this game can be modded on a Master Race at least =D
Congrats, bro :D You accidentaly re-invented Arma experience
the commentary and memes are a fever dream. I thought i had 2 videos open
we need more of this
Genuinely hilarious editing
See, now this is how this game should be played. Each MGS game should have this setting available, named "Actually Realistic", like the range of vision for everyone being like a normal human, actual human health, etc.. Now this would be fun!
Realistic human health is easy
I did a playtrough with 400% vision and hearing snake health 20% and enemy helth 150%. It was pretty brutal lol
Realistic stealth isn't fun at all. The gameplay becomes a chore when you realize that 80% of your toolkit is useless.
@architchaudhary1285 it would be much better than the watered down boring dumb ai that they have right now
Maybe the creators should make that defaults on the highest difficulty settings I feel
Dude! Great video, one of the better ones for sure:)
Congratulations you turned MGS into Arma.
The editting on this is top tier
yeah i've seen videos of people sniping in close range and the npcs are like "where did that come from" like bruh.... you can literally see and hear where it's coming from at the range they're at.
I am from Hong Kong China, very pleased to hear your Chinese meme audio samples!
Now do this challenge but only in first person
if you play daytime the gaurds see you from 300 meters and go on alert😂
