Not sure if you're aware, but telling a guard to get on the ground permanently pacifies them, as long as another guard does not find them, or an alert happens.

@@notenoughnite2602 no its not chokeout you can do either the fast cqc combo or the long one (press r2 3 times without moving in any direction or 5 times)

You certainly made me want to play MGSV again.
If you have no eguipment to take out outpost, you need to wait for night or sand storm.. i would have loved the eating and stamina gameplay from mgs3 to this game also.
MGS got so off-course as a series that you had to use mods to reintroduce the concept of "on-site procurement". And, what a shock, it makes the game way better and more interesting! I love what you are doing with MGS5 - experimenting with every variable to try to turn it into the best stealth game possible.
The only game that actually lets you experience OSP in its fullness is portable ops.
@@paisano6830 DEEPLY underrated game. The recruiting feature was more interesting than Peace Walker since you could target specific subtypes of enemy - scientists, officers, etc - for specific benefits including social camouflage.
Metal Gear is like icecream.
We had vanilla. That was pretty solid. People like vanilla.
Then we got chocolate. People loved that, chocolate is great, who doesn't like chocolate?
And eventually, we got flavor upon flavor upon flavor. MGS5 is like a toasted coconut banana split. That's not a flavor for everyone, but does that make it a *bad* flavor? No. It's just not a flavor everyone will enjoy. There's no way to make it "better" or "worse", but you can always put new toppings on for other people to be able to enjoy it. That's what mods are for.

MGSV had like, 1, mission with the concept of throwing you with nothing, and that mission was one of the best side ops (is a main op but you know what i mean, since is just a repeat of a early game mission) in the game imo.
Because it’s unfinished, I imagine there was a plan for venom to loose contact with Mother base and do the substance style mission in a more fleshed out way. Yet we never got to see it.
@@henryjohnson1126 This feature is in the Infinite Heaven mod. Randomly at the start of the mission you lost connection to MB or crash with helicopter without gadgets and guns.

@@henryjohnson1126its not unfinished. The hell you talking about? Most of you people just dont get it like you didnt get peace walker. The point of the game design is to have the opportunity to use all its weapons and gadgets. Thus why you can attack the same levels multiple times just like the boss fights in peace walker. Its not unfinished its perfect. Still today many people play this game coz its variability while nobody would play it anymore if it only would offer OSP. Thats boring
@@Cartel893 shut up kid. MGSVTPP is well documented as an unfinished game. Mechanically it is finished and I have hundreds of hours in the game but the story is unfinished. That’s undisputed fact.

That maneuver at 9:10 and 20:30 was crazy! It's the lack of resources, that makes you come up with the most creative solutions for conditional stealth given the limited options you have. This game really needed a Subsistence mode for every mission.
the number of random sound effects you have just sprinkled through is astounding literally one second we are listening to Sly Cooper OST and the next we have Max Payne barks
Even just having real-world counterparts for guns in the game instantly adds like +100 immersion.
I didn't realize how badly MGSV needed that until now.

this game is actually good with difficulty mods, i mean it's crazy that in a game where you can engage from so far with silenced sniper rifles the guards have like 30m sight range
MGSV in the era of Helldivers is peak
Incidentally, I once did a CQC-only run of MGS3 and it was similarly cinematic. Especially the part where the Ocelot Unit is searching the house for you and you have to sneak up on and pick them off one by one, I highly recommend it for anyone who likes that game.

this makes the game actually feel like other MGS games. In Vanilla MGSV i never really felt like i needed to use stealth. i could always just shoot my way through.
Technically you could already do that, I never really use any weapon except for the occasional sleep darts.
i dunno man, on early games i could shoot my way through too, ofc stealth gameplay is aways better

I was doing the reverse a lot, so I just changed the controls in helldivers to match the mgsv ones lol
I was so confused for a minute because I forgot the first thing I did on launching Helldivers is change dive to spacebar, I actually cannot imagine trying to play with it on alt it's such an awkward key

I jus' started replaying MSGV recently now that I got it on PC - given I've played it a dozen times on console years back when it came out. I was kinda surprised to see people are still making content and videos about the game near 10 years later. Though this definitely was a real fun vid to watch and has me wanting to try it myself tbh

I like how the mod just bring the old Mgs experience but Harder
It seems such a missed opportunity to me that the entire campaign wasn't playable in subsistence mode by default. As cool as having a tech tree and upgrades is for the gameplay loop, the actual moment to moment gameplay is way more interesting when you have to get creative with your problem solving, rather than having 20 items, all readily accessible, that solve the problem in different ways.
Every time I see this game I have to fight my urges to go back and play it again. I'm waiting for delta to come out before I replay the whole series in chronological order!
