The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy Is Upgraded Inside & Out But It's Missing This Modern Feature

  • For 2021 The Hyundai Santa Fe gets a decent facelift and a nice center console upgrade. The Calligraphy trim is also new, delivering a luxury atmosphere to the midsize 5 seater SUV. It also comes packed with a lot of technology and convenience features that gives this vehicle nice value. However, there's one crucial modern feature that is completely missing from the Calligraphy model, but for some reason is available for the lower SE and SEL trims. Why is this, Hyundai?!
    CORRECTION: You CAN get 20” wheels for the AWD Calligraphy trim.

    Perhaps my favorite 2 row SUV in the market. The mere fact that it does not use the black plastic cladding surrounding the fenders sold me on this rig alone! Never mind the fact that this SUV comes with one of the better warranties in the car market, never mind the fact that Their premium branded vehicles (Genesis) is on fire right now. Nope, it's the body colored fenders and devoid of those says "cheap" plastic parts! Also, the tube amp image in the screen display? PERFECT!

    You can plug in an adapter to the USB port to get wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. There are so many adapter options that do this for cars that have wired CarPlay & Android Auto

  • @NileshR12
    @NileshR12 2 года назад

    As far as this car not having wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, you can get that with a USB dongle or adapter that will make CarPlay or Android Auto work wirelessly. Ultimately that’s a minor fix you can do if it really bothers you that much. In addition, wired CarPlay & Android Auto would probably be more reliable but that can depend on the wireless CarPlay & AA adapter you get

    Correct: It is extremely disappointing that AndroidAuto & Apple CarPlay are "wired". It's probably the only thing i don't like about the vehicle. But not a deal breaker.

    • @leeway1331
      @leeway1331 3 года назад

      I was comparing the two as well & ending up picking Santa Fe Limited Hybrid. I personally felt that it offered more of a newer look because of the press buttons than having a shift gear on the Lexus. However I was also considering the cost difference between the two high ends trim. The Lexus did have a better storage (There wasn’t sunglass storage on the Santa Fe hybrid & Another con for the Santa Fe limited hybrid is the loud noise when reversing) .. I don’t remember if the Lexus offers it, but the Santa Fe limited highbred offers Htrac , which allows The car to drive/steer itself on cruise control.

    recent Santa Fe Limited Hybrid owner here 🙋‍♀️
    I will start with the cons:
    -On a Hybrid, by law they need to have some kind of sound because electric cars are so quiet. Therefore it has an unpleasant Horn when reversing and it’s LOUD & there’s no way to lower it or remove it.. please be aware of this and test it out because I was not told about this prior to purchasing it.
    -TRUNK : The power gate lift it’s fine and all but it does not Offer Hands-free way to close The trunk
    - SEATS : There’s no button to put back the middle seats if it was put down.
    - There’s no designated storage for SUNGLASSES
    - There’s heated seats for the passengers in the back but there’s no cooling
    - when SELF-STEER on cruise control Is activated, it does not allow you to remove your hands off the wheel for more than 30 seconds Until it gives you a pre-warning and anything more than a minute will give you the loud warning and then eventually it will disable the self steering mode .. Which I feel is somewhat useless. As if they’re Trying to be the Tesla but haven’t gotten it there yet.
    ….. now onto the Pros:
    - with the limited hybrid it does have the option of “SELF“ DRIVE on cruise control. This allows for the car to steer itself when it is recognizing the lane, and it will slow down stop and go with the traffic. There are four modes which you can set to determine the distance between your car and the car in front of you.
    - Since the center consul does not offer a shift gear there is a humongous space at the bottom
    - HEATED seats for the back passenger
    - back passenger seats allows the whole seat to move all the way up
    - passenger seats back also allow us to move back for relaxation
    - Panoramic SUNROOF
    - SELF PARK/REVERSE : if you were in a tight spot at a parking lot you are able to control via remote to remove the car out. (Sidenote it only does it forward or back, it does not make a turn)
    -MICROPHONE: just like the palisade, this does offer a microphone for the back passengers (which I find useless because there’s no third row seating in the Santa Fe)
    - BLIND SPOT CAMERA : when you activate your turn signal on the dashboard it will show a video of your Blindspot.
    I have compared the calligraphy versus the limited and there’s really not a big difference just the trim in the front and the leather stitching
    Then I compared Santa Fe versus Palisade and a big difference for me was the Pallisade I did not offer a hybrid, although I would’ve like to have a third row seating but it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me.
