    Thank you very good vidieo .
    i have a simular problem both headlights only come on for a second then turn off in auto light mode. in the manual mode they work as nomal. I had afl fault come up then it has now dissappeared from the dash the next time i used the car. but leaving me with the problem above. 2016 insignia. any thoughts on this matter, thank you.

    Thank you for this video. I have the same problem.
    I tested my relays and fuses, everything is ok. Except that my two 15A fuses of the high beam do not receive any current (ignition or engine on).
    Is my problem the same as what is explained in your video?
    Thank you for your answer.

    Hi, wondering if you can help. I lost dip and full beam on both headlights, replaced both ballasts with genuine parts from Vauxhall and also replaced both bulbs with Napa Xenon HID D1S.. Picked up from mechanic and all was working, came out to the car an hour later and now back to having no dip or full beam - everything else works ie- cornering lights and both lights move when the steering is turned. Any help would be appreciated.

      You should definitely have dip beam if your ballast and bulb is in working order

      If you do not have main beam, it means that either your ballast unit or the d1s bulb is faulty. If you bought a brand new genuine hella ballast, you should code it after fitment to have afl working. @@MsBull1972

    I have a 2013 vauxhall insignia. My drivers side light wasn't working. No dfl. Just the indicator. Bought a ballast and still wasn't working. The full beam worked on the passenger side. I then replaced with a 2nd hand unit which cost me £320. The lights now work expect for the full beam on both lights. Any recommendations?

    What if low and high beam dont work, bought two new bulbs and they dont work either. Will it be a ballast issue?

    • @xenonland
      @xenonland  3 года назад +1

      Yes, if everything outside the headlight is in order, it is either your bulb or the ballast unit. If bulbs new, remains the ballast unit.

      You can only source it from another headlight. Not sold separately as headlight part. Friendly recommendation, if your glass is removed and re-sealed just look for another headlight, but intact one with all lugs intact (I know that these are expensive, but will save you a lot, if you change just 2 times the xenon ballast it will cost you almost same amount). Can someone clarify. When I turn my full beams on. The lighting is rubbish. Does the dipped beam and high beam come out from 1 bulb or are they separate bulbs?

    • @xenonland

      It is bi-xenon headlight. Hence low and high beam are at the same d1s bulb

    hello, my opel insignia A (2010) no longer has high beams. on the on-board computer, i have two messages: "afl lamps need maintenance" and "headlight range adjustment malfunction".
    the 2 high beam fuses have no power.
    Error message : B0985.
    Lamps + fuses + relay + commodo + ballast tested = OK. No water.
    What do you think the problem is ? Right-side optics to be changed ? Thanks for your reply.

    • @xenonland
      @xenonland  Год назад

      Your right headlamp light distribution shutter control circuit is defective. That's to say the low-high beam shutter is defect. (sometimes China make ballast copies also cause this fault, I assume that your ballast is original Hella one). Unfortunately you have to change the headlight or find a donor headlight to replace the whole projector and its shutter. Not worthy to deal with repairs. Please subscribe and help us to grow. Thank you.

      @gepetto5203 do not worry, your left headlight probably works. these are afl intelligent headlights. When you have a high beam malfunction at one headlight, the other one stops as well.

      @@xenonland Thanks again. It's crazy that such a fault cuts the current to the 2 high beam fuses, and prevents the high beams from lighting up. I'm going to trust you and order a straight optic. At worst, if this doesn't solve my problem, I'll send the optic back to the store.

    Really useful video thx 👍 I have a persistent AFL warning & headlamps work ok, but full beam not working. I get error code U1523 00 (K26 Headlamp Control Module) LIN Bus 2 Lost Communication With Device 3 (E13R Headlamp Assembly Right). Is there a control module for the right headlamp that I could replace? Or would you still recommend replacing the whole headlamp unit with this error code? Thx.

    • @xenonland
      @xenonland  2 года назад

      U1523 code possible causes are: Faulty Left Headlamp, Left Headlamp harness is open or shorted, Left Headlamp circuit poor electrical connection or Faulty Headlamp Control Module/Headlamp Leveling Control Module
      . The only replaceable part at this headlight is the ballast unit which also has a specific software that communicates with bunch of control modules at the car/dash. If you have moisture in your headlight most probably your ballast is gone. Or if the bi-xenon mechanism faulty you will have no high beams as well. if your headlight is water/moisture damaged, changing the headlight is cheapest solution (although it cost fortune!)

      @@xenonland Thanks for the advice 👍 It’s a 2009 Insignia Elite. Dipped Beam works ok, both lights perform dance at startup & cornering lights work ok. It’s just the Full Beam that has stopped working. It went gradually over a few years and AFL warning used to only appear when going over speed bumps in the dark. Now AFL warning & full beam failure is all the time. Seems to be related to the headlamp levelling system. Want to diagnose & replace parts before replacing whole unit really 😬

    • @xenonland
      @xenonland  2 года назад

      @@martindodd9874 given the ballast unit works (and is original unit - not china copy which do not have software in), most probably the light shutter mechanism is faulty. If this shutter gets faulty, the system deactivates the high beam at the other headlight as well. Theoretically it is replaceable but you have to find a donor headlight. It is not offered by Opel as a separate part.

    • @martindodd9874
      @martindodd9874 2 года назад

      @@xenonland thx 👍 Apparently the wires to the shutter mechanism are prone to wear, so might look for that first. If can’t see anything obvious, then will look for replacement unit.

    • @xenonland

      Very difficult to guess from distance but have you checked "wheel speed sensors". These sensors provides the relevant data to the electronic brake control module (EBCM) and accordingly the AFSmodule/in this case integrated into the ballast know when to activate the AFS function.
