    Please pay attention in the video to BUTs and IFs, difference between "fully working", "working", "working erratic", "compatible," "not compatible", "not fully compatible" etc... It seems that some viewers can not grasp the difference between these terms.
    This video shows how to troubleshoot your OPEL (VAUXHALL - Buick Regal) INSIGNIA (same applies to Astra J) First Generation Pre-Facelift (2008-2013) bi-xenon AFL adaptive type headlight. It shows how to replace the xenon bulb and explains the importance of using exactly the Hella Xenius 5DV009720-00 made ballast and the reasons why you should never try any other Xenius same shape/plug ballasts.

    Hello!
    Maybe you can help or direct me what to do :)
    Bought Insignia B from 2018.
    When i bought it, some warning lights were on ( adaptive left light , left low beam , left headlight malfunction ).
    I was at my local mechanic but he couldn't fix the errors ( B 256 C and B 258 A ) and told me to go to Opel authorized workshop.
    I went to Opel in Stockholm , but unfortunately they also could not reprogram the headlight.
    They told me that supposedly the headlight was replaced and a used one was been instaled and that's why they can't reprogram it.
    Btw , everything on the headlight working fine.
    Do you know how can i solve the problem ?
    Will a new ballast or a new headlight solve the problem ?
    Thanks

    Hello, I have a 2010 insignia. I had many masters in the industry look at it, but none of them could find a solution. The high beams of the vehicle do not turn on. There is no problem in the winter. It activates the longs once in a while. The right headlight does not salute and the room works from time to time. Is the problem in the headlight brain? I decided to disassemble it myself. Also, if you clean the headlight bulb sockets, is there any chance of it getting better? Enjoy your work. Thank you for the comprehensive video. You are super.

    Very useful video. I have replaced headlight, ballast and bulb with new parts. All of them the right parts and it works. But I did not get rid off a message on my dashboard saying something like "low light right side defect". So this could be because of the missing coding issue. What does it take to code the new ballast ? If I go to an Opel garage, can they do the coding without dismantling all over ?

    • @xenonland
      @xenonland  5 месяцев назад +1

      If you bought an aftermarket ballast (not genuine one), no one can code it. If you have a genuine ballast fitted, than the Opel or other workshops can code it without removing the headlight. All depends on what you installed as a ballast

    If the ballast is burned, is that sound still heard when you turn on the headlight? My light bulb doesn't work, but you can hear that buzzing sound in both headlights. The one on the left works.The one on the right after an accident, it was cracked, it made condensation, the bulbs blinked in unison for a few days until the LEDs (daylight) and the xenon bulb stopped working. Only that bulb works when you make a curve and the signaling.What could be the cause? The errors on the board are the following: Check right dipped beam lamp and Headlamp levelling malfunction - contact service

      you can change the led module inside the headlight, but first it is very hard to find it, second once the headlight is opened it is likely to have condensation/moisture issues, hence ballast failures. Although headlights for this model are very expensive, changing the headlight might be the cheaper solution in the long run.

    In my 2010 Opel Insignia, I've already changed the ballast twice because it's filled with water and it damages my lights. The problem is that the issue keeps coming back. I don't believe that switching to a new headlight, despite spending more money, will resolve the problem. This car has many issues with water infiltrations and electronics. I think that a seal in this case around all the components of the headlight is the solution. But from what I've read, silicone is not advisable. They recommend plastic welding along the areas with air vents while performing a leak test. What do you think can be done? My mechanic has had the car since yesterday, and he's also not quite sure what to do because the solution of a new headlight is expensive for me, and buying the ballast and the light and replacing them will result in the same issue soon with water getting in. A lot of water enters the headlight, and it's not condensation; it's actual water accumulating at the bottom where the ballast is. Do you have any solutions on how to waterproof a headlight and all its components? And if it's cracked from some impact, is it possible to seal it? Thanks for the help

    • @xenonland
      @xenonland  3 года назад

      If you have low beam it means that your ballast is generating voltage. If you do not have full beam it means that the bi-xenon shutter is faulty. it is located inside the projector and powered/commanded by the BLACK PLATE/electronic shutter circuit plate under the projector, plus the actuator at the side of the projector. Please check if the blue plug is correctly inserted into the BLACK plate and see the plug that goes into the ACTUATOR (at side of the projector). If these two plugs are inserted and still not having full beam, it means that the electronic plate is gone. In this case you should buy a new headlight. Do not try to save money by trying to repair the existing headlight, once headlight opened it means that will always make problems/condensation etc... Every part for this headlight is very expensive. Replacement headlight seems expensive but believe me is cheaper in the long run.
