I have the exact same kayak and have been hunting out of it for the past couple of years... this will be a definite upgrade! Thanks for the inspiration, i will for sure be building something similar!
Edwin Owens yes sir! It definitely made it much better! The only thing I plan to add is cut the top of the front where my feet will have room to relax. Thanks for watching! Any questions, feel free to ask!
That was something I was wanting to know how was you going to paddle it with the panels on and what did you do with them long screws that were on the inside I see trouble and last have to think of a different way to mount don`t to drill them holes in my Jackson . But I did like you idea .
Chuck Smith the small screws I took out after the U bolts were on. And yea that’s why I got a cheap Walmart kayak so I wouldn’t be drilling and such on an expensive one. If mine had rod holders or something like that, I’d have just added “steaks” to the bottom of the frame where it just slides down in the rod holders. Thanks for watching!
Brian McCarthy thanks for commenting. I forgot to add in this video but if you check out my trolling motor upgrade video, it shows they’re removable. Thanks for watching!
Do you have any problems with water getting in the boat where you drilled for the U-Bolt? Really awesome video, I'm looking to purchase a kayak for myself and start using it for duck hunting!
None at all. I’ve been intending to do a hunting video from the kayak, but between work, Christmas and such I just haven’t found the time to take it out. Hopefully I’ll have a video up soon!
mr 13fox I spent $35 on all fittings, hardware and whatnot (local hardware store is kinda expensive) but I had all my joints of pipe already at the house. So maybe roughly $50 total costs? Thanks for watching! Any other questions feel free to ask!
mr 13fox I have only went with two. Changed my mind when I was putting them on because you can’t reach the inside of the back the way the boat is designed. It still holds very solid.
Thats a good looking kayak blind
Thanks! Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
Nice 👍

With the doors down. Worked fine until the project got Frankensteined for another.

Awesome work!! How much did the total cost run you?
Man I think like $50. It’s been a while so I don’t know exact, but it was budget friendly as hell.
Have watched several of your videos and several of the holes yall have hunted look familiar. If you dont mind me asking do yall hunt boeuf?
Kris Wallace yessir!
@@BackFortyTV I watched yalls video of the youth hunt and I've hunted that same hole. But that particular area is done for from all the rain
Kris Wallace that’s absolutely right. Water way too high now.
@@BackFortyTV if you dont mind me asking what's your name.
Kris Wallace you from FP?
How are u gonna paddle 😂 didnt think that one though other wise good job
Did you watch the video? Lol. I explained it.
How much did all the pvc cost
Fittings and all was around $50-$60 at my local hardware. I’m sure somewhere like Lowes it would be cheaper.
Back Forty TV appreciate it
Tied To Outdoors not a problem at all man! Lots of hunts coming out of it this year. Any other questions just ask away! Thanks for watching!
How much was the total cost for materials? I wanna do this to my boat

How many UBolt fittings to hold it in place?
And about how many feet of pvc would you say?
mr 13fox I have only went with two. Changed my mind when I was putting them on because you can’t reach the inside of the back the way the boat is designed. It still holds very solid.
mr 13fox But I did leave a few screws along the sides. If I had to guess about 20’ of pvc should be plenty. I can’t remember exactly how much I used.
