My cousin and I both have the H12's. He got lucky and got the northern flight blind. I have the yak gear. I hated the doors so much I modified the thing. I took the doors off and bought a cheap northern flight layout blind to put inside. I had to cut 1 inch out of the frame to make it fit but I I freaking love it. A lot lighter then my cousin and being in WI the layout blind traps heat better.
Great video ! I’m looking at ways to use my hobie kayak to duck hunt. I previously hunted a few times in Texas over flooded rice fields, but since moving to Raleigh I bought a kayak because of all the lakes and other opportunities to get outdoors with my kids, so this video was educational. I also have a young dog and wondered how you get yours back into the yak after the retrieve? (Mine is 75 lbs so not so easy to just pick up).
Cool man. For the yak you can find a spot to drag it up on the bank and hide it or grab a blind for it. As far as the dog goes.....check out the trainer.com. Freddy King runs it he also has some RUclips videos and does Livestream from his Facebook. Hope that helps. 👍👊

Nice they each have pro and cons for sure. 👍👊
Nice detailed video! How far are you paddling in the H12 from put-in to where you’re hunting?
@@brettmartin764 most of the time 1 mile each way or under...have done 2 miles each way but that's a dang workout.

The biggest question I have is is it comfortable enough to take a nap in while waiting for shooting light
I'm looking at getting an H10 because of the weight savings. Getting old. Have seen one and if so can you fit a dog in the back of it?
Yes you can fit a medium sized retriever in the back. Decoys in the front no problem.
Would this work with other brand kayaks?
Yes the Yak gear will work with any kayak around 12 to 12.5 ft. I have used the blind on my bonafide ss127 also.
