    Being a man and having a daughter I absolutely love to see when women achieve their dreams. I always encourage my daughter to do whatever makes her happy and can't stress it enough that you don't want to be stuck in a job you absolutely hate going to. Money isn't everything. Im a big believer in doing what you want to do. I couldn't do it because my daughter is only 14, but in 4 yrs I definitely want to live the Nomad lifestyle. My Condo will be paid off and I will only be 49. My daughter can live in it and only pay utilities, HOA fees etc. Very inspirational and I'll be absorbing as much information as I can when I'm ready to go.

    I love what you did and why you did it... Sometimes when burnout hits nurses it's better to consider other options for our mental health survival. I left in 2010 for personal reasons. Life was getting in the way of trying to do it all. I' m a Mom of adult children, wife, ER and former Hospice nurse. Also a perfectionist at heart and realize there is no such thing in the profession. Best of luck. Stay alert and live your dreams. Willette from Alabama

    I had been a nurse for 21 years and was already completely overwhelmed and burnt out when Covid came along. It didn't take much for me to decide to quit. Good on you for not forcing yourself to continue in a ridiculously stressful and unappreciated (by employers) job. I'm impressed with what you've done with the bus and wish you the best in your journey!!

    On your food cabinet, you have what looks like 1/2" plywood for the shelf...that will start to sag with weight, moisture and heat. I would attach an aluminum angle iron bar on the top of the shelf which will keep your food from falling out and give strength to the shelf. Or a piece of 3/4" X 1" board from one side to the other.
    You did an Amazing job on your Bus.

If you turn them over, blades down, the edge of the handles rest on the block keeping the knives in place a bit better. I'd probably still take them down when traveling, or design a leather or rubberized strap for securing them when traveling.

    Good for you!!! I can certainly understand getting burned out as a nurse especially during covid!!! Anytime you have to work with a large number of people and provide them a service your going to get burned out, because not all of the people you have to deal with are always nice. I worked retail management when I was young and it didn't take long to get burned out. I've been watching women in their 70's traveling around in minivans, I'm in my late 50's and I'm hoping to hit America sometime after the first of the year (2025). My boys are grown, my husband of 19 years passed unexpectedly last week from cardiac arrest and we were going to do it together and I figure why let life's let downs keep me from fulfilling that dream, I know hos spirit will be with me along the way. Get me a lil companion, lap dog and hit the road.💜💜💜

    For nurses who experience burnout and want to live a more nomadic lifestyle, I've seen a lot of other nurses accomplish this by becoming a traveling nurse, volunteer per diem at hospitals/clinics... be your own boss, have more control over where and how much you work and still get to travel and be a nurse, helping people, without the burnout! And this goes for many people in the medical field, not just nurses and everyone I've seen make this their lifestyle are all super happy, well-rounded individuals living life to the fullest! 😊

I'm sure she's aware, alot of it has to due with the pandemic which is why I retired ealier than planned. It's is a great way to manage yourself as a business. I worked many years in my local level 1 trauma hospital, magnate certified, in critical care. I had burnout many times throughout the years but would have never had the guts to leave my security for this nomad lifestyle, kudos to her...

  • @shogun666able
    @shogun666able Год назад

    Hi Liv. You should take your door locking handle off and see if it a square bar that comes from the back of the handle and fits in a square hole in the door catch itself. If it is you can drill through from the inside out and fit a longer square bar, so the square bar now goes right through the door inself. Probable done that way to stop the school kids opening it from the inside. There are loads of different locks you can then fit on the inside, key and keyless ones, so you can lock it from the inside. Any locksmith or good hardware shop will sort the bits you need, but you may need to cut the new long square bar to length. Have fun. Arthur (UK).

    This is a great build. I have done both a bus and a van, and for sure, you need very little of the things people do to buses like tearing out ceilings and getting crazy with bathrooms and electrical. Cassette toilets can be emptied into ports Jons, and there is no need to try to impose real plumbing into a vehicle. Life is way easier on the road than some people want to make it.

    Great video. I'm a nurse too. I totally get this. I'm trying to figure out how I can do this too. Good luck going back to work. Nursing is definitely a challenging job. Consider Case Management, that's what I do now. Good luck 😀
