Chloe doesn't only make comments about when you let kara and alice die, she also does when you let markus or connor die. For Markus the comments are basically the same as Kara's but for Connor she says "Now he'll never know what he was looking for" or something similar (it's been a while) and it hits you right in the feels. She definitely tries to make the player feel guilty.

I've never seen a game where every choice you make ACTUALLY matters, unlike most games where they end up evening themselves out and the consequences basically just disappear. That's a huge reason why I love D:BH 💕
I'm a programmer and always amused when humans look at a program as if it were more dynamic than it really is. The illusion of the game telling you "Hank ^" as if it mattered always works wonders.
This game is kinda similar to Until Dawn, where the idea of "butterfly effect" really applies on both games. But, D:BH is way better game. The story, the graphics, the actors, and the music are perfectly well. This game also blows my mind, because it has 99+ endings, which is too crazy for this such a big game. They really put so much effort on this game.
Spoiler: if you kill Chloe when interviewing Kamski, she's all messed up on the menu screen the next time you're there. Says she doesn't feel right but doesn't know why, frantically looks around with panicked eyes. It's awful!

Ian Lex I don’t think it is (it’s called the Eastern Motel and the one in Heavy Rain is the Cross Roads Motel), but have you noticed that Todd’s house somewhat bears a similar structure (particularly the position of the front door, entryway and stairs) to Ethan Mars’ house?
Ian Lex If you look in the concept art (I forget which pack at the moment, although I think it’s the one that has Ralph, the guy you stay with if you stay in the squat, in it) there’s another reference to Heavy Rain. If you look at the thing that sort of resembles an old-school pinball machine that’s had its screen broken, on the visible side of it you can see the same logo image (the logo against a black rain-soaked backdrop) that appears when you open the game before getting to the main menu, after the Sony Computer Entertainment Presents and Quantic Dream logo screens.
Ian Lex I’m not sure if this particular easter egg is visible in the squat in the actual game, though. (I had Kara and Alice stay in the motel, I used Alice as a diversion in the supermarket and stole the money without anyone noticing and took clothes from the man in the laundromat.)
I really enjoyed this game and I loved the characters. I hope you guys enjoy the video. See you tomorrow with another video covering secret death Easter eggs in games!
there's another one for Markus while vandalizing the plaza. one of the things you can say it "I think therefore I AM" is a quote from a sentient computer which annailated the human and keeps only 5 humans alive to together them for eternity in the book. "I have no mouth and I must scream"
I'm actually surprised a lot of people didn't get the Highlander film reference. Clancy Brown who play Hank plays the villain in highlander named Kurgan. The main character in Highlander is named Connor Mcleoud. Towards the end of Detroit, Hank even asks Connor if he's immortal. Which I believe references Connor being immortal in Highlander. Plus there are two Connors later, only hank knows who the real connor is. This is a reference to the tagline of highlander "There can be only one"
I think I discovered one easter egg. Do you remember when Kara met Ralph in the abandoned house? On that wall, where is he writing RA9, you can see also Kara, written around 10 times by small letters. I think that Ralph knew somehow, that Kara will come to him.
Spoilers here. Not sure if it counts as an Easter Egg, but you could add how the whole game resolves around the Civil Rights march by Martin Luther King. The whole no more slavery speech, "We have a dream" optional slogan much like King's "I have a dream", and even the nonviolent marching when the androids all simultaneously kneels or raises there hand is very reminiscent of the protest in Alabama City led by King once again, where all the marchers kneeled. At one point Chloe also quotes King, I can't remember what exactly she said, was just AFK and heard her say his name. Lastly, might be a stretch but Markus getting/almost getting assassinated during his victory speech might've also taken from how King was assassinated.
Depending on how you play, Connor can be positioned on a rooftop with a sniper attempting to assassinate Markus (or North if Markus is dead). Captain Allen and his SWAT unit unfortunately surprise Connor and stop him from doing so (no matter what).
It's not an easter egg. Easter eggs are meant to be hidden. The obvious themes surrounding civil rights in the 1960's is extremely heavy-handed and over-the-top. They pretend as though that civil rights movement never existed in order to justify them doing it all over again in 2038 :P
That reminds me of X-Men.The entire world of X-Men is an allegory of the Civil Rights Movement, even going so far as to base the ideologies of both Professor X and Magneto on the ideologies of both Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X,which doesn't fit well, seeing as how Magneto is more similar to Machiavelli than Malcolm X in how radical his ideology sounds and how worse he is in comparison to the real man.Professor X,though inspired by King, isn't any better,as he is controversial in how he walks a thin line between being a pacifist and a war leader, which ironically both him and Magneto hypocrites.
Chloe can also ask if it is ok to leave the game. You can say yes or no. Reply with yes and off she goes free. Later on the game offers you a new Chloe, if you miss her.
the graveyard scene is one of the saddest scenes in the game, all those poor androids, left there to rot, begging for you to end their pain, as they die a slow and painful death. (i legit cried while writing this comment)
If you go to the break room in the precinct after you take on Gavin you’ll hear the tv reporting on the first android author writing a book called “do humans dream of mammalian sheep” and that made me laugh really hard. Hahaha
In the Jericho scene when Marcus first arrived and starts lighting fires and searching for Lucy, you can hear the "peace song" Marcus sing in one of the endings in the backround! I think that's really cool!
The police station in this game is the same from the movie irobot, nice touch 😉👍 Also a referance to Lost the show in the devient appartment "the maze on the wall", another is to silence of the lambs in the basement of slatko
During the first few seconds of the first kara chapter, you can see a man that looks like harrison ford’s character in blade runner in the cyber life store. Also deckart is the name of the first responder in the hostage chapter
connor is 100% a terminator reference. he even kinda looks like the T-1000 from terminator 2. (or at least, there was enough resemblance for it to trigger my memory)
Totally agree with you you on the Terminator reference... think that was very deliberate, what with the trophy. And his general style of just keep on coming back. And when he runs in one branch he's very much like the T1000. The Connor reference... *slaps head* So obvious now you say it, but it hadn't occurred to me.
I’d recommend watching one of the Jacksepticeye videos “Meeting Conner from Detroit in Real Life!” It features the actor for Conner going into some details about the character.
There's actually another reference. When Connor puts Hank's password on his PC, it's the same password of the show "Dexter", on Debora's computer. "Fuckingpassword"
i just played the game recently, and noticed some shawshank redemption references - in the junk yard when markus looks at the sky with open arms, and in the nest - where Rupert's diary is hidden behind a poster
This game has alot of traits and refrences to I robot. For example in I robot will smith and the doctor go to a crime scene where the suspect (sunny) is a robot who is still hiding at the crime scene. In the game Hank and conor go to a crime scene and the suspect is also a robot who was still hiding at the crime scene.
Woah, so cool! Thanks for this video. I think developers are implying that the singing android from the dumpster is the same one we saw in that old demo, which is really cool and disturbing at the same time
Connor's serial number is 313 248 317. The 313 is for Detroit's area code. The 248 is for the area code of the part of Michigan where Bryan Dechard grew up. 317 is his birth date.
Actually, while collecting the Bellini Paints, Markus can come across a man singing, ‘Human Music’. This may be a reference to Rick and Morty! The episode where they’re in a simulation.
I don't know if you noticed but, in the begining of the video and the end you can see North(or a other model like her) In the number 3 capsule thought that was cool.
There's a cool part when Markus first explores Jericho (where he meets Lucy and all) in the background an android is humming the Song of Peace you can get Markus to sing at the barricade
Gosh, I just rewatching this because I watch a full playthrough of Detroit Become Human and I'm really loving this game, I just wish another DBH game came out
I don't know if this is another reference but, in one of the endings of Heavy Rain Madison says in the end that it will be just a bad dream, and in one of the chapters Kara tries to comfort Alice by stating that it's just a bad dream. idk
The Nomad Soul is actually the first Quantic Dream videogame. It was developed in 1999 for PC and features David Bowie as protagonist. I know because I played it as a kid 😁
There are two other references to Heavy Rain that are difficult to notice. *SPOILERS* Todd's house is based on Ethan's house after the death of his son. The Kara, Alice and Connor chase scene is similar to the Ethan, Madison and Norman Jayden chase scene. Connor/Norman=detectives Kara, Alice/Ethan, Madison=fugitives
During the mission where you free the androids from the store, north will later say they were slaughtered like animals which i see as a reference to Star Wars
i had Chloe saying something like "are you sure you'd like to continue, maybe u'd like to leave things as they are right now" when i clicked on continute button, leaving me an option to either accept or decline! i think it was before marcus' march, way earlier but cant remember when exactly. got me to think for a while :D
Someone else might have commented this before, but another thing that supports the Terminator parallel is how the androids are able to perfectly imitate other voices.
There is actually another very small reference Heavy Rain. Markus' former owner, Carl, has the last name of Manfred. This is a subtle reference to Heavy Rain because the character Scott Shelby and Lauren Winter meet up with an old man in a store during the investigation Scott is investigating in Heavy Rain. The old man's name is Manfred. Another one is when you talk to North for the first time in Jericho she is throwing a ball against a wall. This is a bit of a stretch but it could be a possibility it's a reference to when Norman Jayden in Heavy Rain is using his Ari to throw a digital ball against a wall while he's waiting in the police station.
I'm surprised you didn't mention it but when Marcus kills Connor in the revolution he kills him the same way the Terminator was killed in Terminator 2 with the pole. It looks so similar.
Dunno if anyone else commented this, but Nomad Soul is actually also a Quantic Dream game, so that billboard was likely a reference to the game. It was actually their first game, and it was on PC and Dreamcast tho, probably why it’s lesser known than Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls.
5:21 also, i don’t know if anyone has noticed this, but when you choose a symbol for the deviants, the one at the top looks strangely similar to the boygroup Seventeen’s logo
I also noticed that the FBI agent is that homeless guy from Beyond Two Souls and Todd is the guy who tried to rape Jodie at the bar in Beyond Two Souls.
Another reference (Possible Link between the game/Shared Universe implication) is that Todd lives in the same neighborhood as Ethan Mars in Heavy Rain, even Driving past his house in the intro cutscene (Me personally, I think that they are set in the same universe and Nathan’s ARI glasses may have either inspired CyberLife, or was made by Amanda)

Keenangoal Er... I think your brain is malfunctioning, android.
Screech or hank
Detroit: Become Human is by far the best and greatest game in human history
Change my mind
Don’t think I can
Lance Heriksen the guy that plays Markus "Father" also played an android in the movie Aliens
At the end of the game i let the annoying main menu woman leave, and now I kind of miss it lol
JTsavage Same here. The main menu screen is too plain now
JTsavage yeah I miss her. Supposedly to get her back you have to delete your save.
JTsavage she's not annoying for me
same here
They'll bring her back lol
In My first gameplay, I let Cara and Alice die. And Chloe said things to me. I feel Exhausted and scared.
She was giving reactions. IT WAS INCREDIBLE.
Chloe can also ask if it is ok to leave the game. You can say yes or no. Reply with yes and off she goes free.
Later on the game offers you a new Chloe, if you miss her.
the graveyard scene is one of the saddest scenes in the game,
all those poor androids, left there to rot, begging for you to end their pain, as they die a slow and painful death.
(i legit cried while writing this comment)
In the mission with videobroadcast marcus has to get to the 47. Floor to get the worker disguise. Anyone get the reference?
Saro_Issamura during the game it literally mentioned an agent 47
Hitman aka Agent 47 often uses disguises. Markus gets a disguise on the 47th floor. That's 2 references.
If you go to the break room in the precinct after you take on Gavin you’ll hear the tv reporting on the first android author writing a book called “do humans dream of mammalian sheep” and that made me laugh really hard. Hahaha
4:07 this easter egg i see and e think thad im sad for this android model im realy broken inside
LJ Bubarim soraka same that's fucking sad TBH I really wanted to save them all :(
2:26
I almost shat myself when she said that, i got shocked for 5 seconds and she said... "Just kidding"
The android brothel in the game is called Eden Club, just like a brothel from the show Peaky Blinders (awesome show btw)
In the Jericho scene when Marcus first arrived and starts lighting fires and searching for Lucy, you can hear the "peace song" Marcus sing in one of the endings in the backround! I think that's really cool!
Connor used John Wick fighting skills in the elevator
That cinema also lists "Nomad Soul" which was the subtitle to Omnicron, another Quantic Dreams game
I’m sorry but, why is the eden club so damn pretty!?!?
(Edit: I got a heart!?!? Why!?!? Lol 😂)
Crabby Boi Connor because you made a sexual reference
The police station in this game is the same from the movie irobot, nice touch 😉👍
Also a referance to Lost the show in the devient appartment "the maze on the wall", another is to silence of the lambs in the basement of slatko
Hahaha the saved game one was hilarious lol
When Connor is saying 'I know that it is hard for humans dealing with loss.'
Look at the background..... IT'S THE LOSS MEME!
Just wish I could live in this world
Rusty Therapist me too
Rusty Therapist yea..ikr
I sure as hell don't. I like living
100 years.
Same, i also wish that when I die, I will become an detective Android (aka connor)
Fun fact: the first 3 numbers of connor’s serial number is “313” which is the area code of Detroit
When you start exploring Jericho, you can hear the the andriod humming the "hang on a little longer" song
Marcus Crawford
It’s “Hold on, just a little while longer”.
During the first few seconds of the first kara chapter, you can see a man that looks like harrison ford’s character in blade runner in the cyber life store. Also deckart is the name of the first responder in the hostage chapter
Coatl360 Nice, there’s several references to Blade Runner throughout the game
I think the name of the first responder was more after Brian Dechart who plays Connor
I had chole one time when I started the game up say I've been playing for a while now and asked me if I considered us friends
Dante Skullcrusher I considered her and I friends
connor is 100% a terminator reference. he even kinda looks like the T-1000 from terminator 2. (or at least, there was enough resemblance for it to trigger my memory)
I never actually thought of that haha!
Totally agree with you you on the Terminator reference... think that was very deliberate, what with the trophy. And his general style of just keep on coming back. And when he runs in one branch he's very much like the T1000. The Connor reference... *slaps head* So obvious now you say it, but it hadn't occurred to me.
I freaking love chloe. Shes hilarious, such a great add in by the developers
Another easter egg is that the song in the Luther trailer, "Only On," plays in the background when Markus first enters Jericho.
Pretty sure Lucy is one humming the song
I’d recommend watching one of the Jacksepticeye videos “Meeting Conner from Detroit in Real Life!” It features the actor for Conner going into some details about the character.
There's actually another reference. When Connor puts Hank's password on his PC, it's the same password of the show "Dexter", on Debora's computer. "Fuckingpassword"
i just played the game recently, and noticed some shawshank redemption references - in the junk yard when markus looks at the sky with open arms, and in the nest - where Rupert's diary is hidden behind a poster
Todd's house is Ethan house in heavy rain when he's with Shaun and rose house Is jodies home during the snowball fight
I think developers are implying that the singing android from the dumpster is the same one we saw in that old demo, which is really cool and disturbing at the same time
These game have so many roots that leads to different path of the story, that's why I loved this game
1:37 it can be seen outside of the cutscene with a ps4 pro
Apparently keeping everyone alive is a rare thing. According to the trophy system
Other terminator reference is when Connor analises the blood by licking.
In Terminator 3 the female terminator does that.
Connor's serial number is 313 248 317. The 313 is for Detroit's area code. The 248 is for the area code of the part of Michigan where Bryan Dechard grew up. 317 is his birth date.
Agent 47
the name connor means “lover of hounds”
Chloe compliments yor interior decoration and how it reflects you breaking the 4th wall
Actually, while collecting the Bellini Paints, Markus can come across a man singing, ‘Human Music’. This may be a reference to Rick and Morty! The episode where they’re in a simulation.
Another great video captain 😁
*SPOILERS*
Todd's house is based on Ethan's house after the death of his son.
The Kara, Alice and Connor chase scene is similar to the Ethan, Madison and Norman Jayden chase scene.
Connor/Norman=detectives
Kara, Alice/Ethan, Madison=fugitives
"Agent 47 identified" and he's right BEHIND me. I got the chills when I heard that. Good thing he doesn't get in that elevator with you.
During the mission where you free the androids from the store, north will later say they were slaughtered like animals which i see as a reference to Star Wars
the sakura sakura song is a song i actually sang in a choir in 6th grade. now i'll never think of it the same way again
i had Chloe saying something like "are you sure you'd like to continue, maybe u'd like to leave things as they are right now" when i clicked on continute button, leaving me an option to either accept or decline! i think it was before marcus' march, way earlier but cant remember when exactly. got me to think for a while :D
I noticed the beyond 2 souls symbol when I first saw it
Someone else might have commented this before, but another thing that supports the Terminator parallel is how the androids are able to perfectly imitate other voices.
Also when she reacts on main characters' deaths, her LED turns yellow and when "saved game is corrupted" her LED turns red.
The motel that Kara and Alice spent the night looks exactly the same motel in Heavy Rain
5:21 also, i don’t know if anyone has noticed this, but when you choose a symbol for the deviants, the one at the top looks strangely similar to the boygroup Seventeen’s logo
Carat Revolution
I also noticed that the FBI agent is that homeless guy from Beyond Two Souls and Todd is the guy who tried to rape Jodie at the bar in Beyond Two Souls.
Also
Chloe is Kirsten from Beyond (bitch who had bday)
Another reference (Possible Link between the game/Shared Universe implication) is that Todd lives in the same neighborhood as Ethan Mars in Heavy Rain, even Driving past his house in the intro cutscene
(Me personally, I think that they are set in the same universe and Nathan’s ARI glasses may have either inspired CyberLife, or was made by Amanda)
