    I watched a 1994 version of this video. It was from Flinders Street station to Belgrave station. I needed a video that would put a 19 month girl to sleep. I look after her and her siblings overnight 3 times a week.

      Well my own videos put me to sleep any time of day well “proof watching” before uploading to RUclips. 😆

    Interesting how stations were quiet then. Thanks for the video!

      Yes, during Covid. I’m about to have lunch Glenferrie Rd between depot and Malvern station. 😋

    We used this train route from Camberwell to die City. My Highlight was always an big ice cream in a italien Cafe at the corner of Elizabeth Street and little Lonsdale Street. Then we went to Myer's, and at the end i had a toy for about 5 Dollars. Was a lot of money in 1970😊

      Yes, Melbourne was a bit quiet around this time. Meanwhile in my Queensland, most of the time life was pretty normal. 😄

    When was this footage from, since Surrey Hills and Mont Albert were still open in it?

      Well I did say at the beginning “During Covid”

      @@tressteleg1 That must have been a visual thing, because I'm blind and wouldn't have seen it. But thanks.

      @therealsammyvee888 It’s unfortunate that, for you anyway, the information I add to my videos is written. I do that for two reasons. One is that people want to listen to the trams, not my voice. The other is that viewers overseas can probably read English much more easily than they can pick out the spoken words. Incidentally you are not the only person without sight who enjoys listening to my videos. Keep it up!

      @@tressteleg1 Yeah that's fair. Appreciate the understanding. Thanks mate. I do enjoy listening to the videos.

      No problem. It’s just a pity that someone also interested in these videos could not watch them with you and read out my captions, including each station name. Much of my video preparation time is spent putting explanations all through the videos, including what the particular signal colour combinations mean to the train driver. I’ll be in Melbourne in a couple of weeks so will pick up last year’s videos from him. Cheers…

      I’m pleased to hear that. Soon I will be in Melbourne and will collect whatever my driver has recorded over the last 12 months. Hopefully it will include some recent level crossing removals.

  • @DooverLackey

    I always thoroughly enjoyed my trips down the belgrave line. How many level crossing removals have happened on this line since this video? Those things ruin the aesthetic tremendously albeit for a good reason

    • @tressteleg1
      @tressteleg1  8 месяцев назад

      I thought I listed the situation as each location was reached, Union replaced Surrey Hills and Mont Albert last May. One or 2 have been done on the Belgrave branch.

    • @Raxecarical
      @Raxecarical 8 месяцев назад

      I believe further down there were level crossing removals at Heatherdale and Bayswater. There is currently one being removed near the junction with the Lilydale line in Ringwood at Bed ford Rd. Level crossings at Mitcham, Nunawading and Boronia were also removed before the current program.

    • @tressteleg1
      @tressteleg1  8 месяцев назад

      @@Raxecarical The crossing very soon after leaving Ringwood has since been done, and I put a note at that location. Ones which obviously were old and weatherworn I did not mention but there was one which looked quite fresh but was quite old so I did mention that one.

    How come some signals are green-red and some are red-green? 🏳‍🌈

      It is explained in the video but if you only looked at a few seconds here and there you could well have missed that. When you have at least 9 minutes to spare, I suggest you watch this:
