Much better than Popeye's.
Churches has bad quality controls from franchise-to-franchise. BUT, when you find one with good quality standards in terms of chicken and oil freshness, it is truly delicious. Juicier and overall tastier than Popeyes under the conditions described, IMHO.
Church's Chicken was a favorite of mine and after I loved it I introduced my daughter to it who also loves it. Last couple of times I went it tasted a bit fishy for some reason. Not the churches I love. I would still go in hopes it would be as good as it was. Maybe I just went on a couple of bad days.
I found Churches Chicken in Braggtown part of Durham, North Carolina. The store's asfalt looked like it was destroy in a hellfire strike and an IED on the other. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of my order and the quantity I received. Definitely will come back.
In Puerto Rico all the church's chicken restaurants are very nice and located in good neighborhoods. In Florida all church's chicken are located in the ghettos.
You can get those jalapenos at any store. Just look in the pickle section and look for San MARCOS pickled jalapenos or if they are out look for La Costena jalapenos. Here is a secret tip, if you like the hot sauce that a lot of real family owned taco and Mexican restaurants serve in little plastic tubs on the side, when you order your breakfast tacos. All you have to do is take the stems off the pickled jalapenos, and then throw all of the contents of the can including the carrots and juice into a blender, and blend it until it almost becomes liquid. The liquid from the jalapeno and not so much the pulp is what is treasured by Latinos. The vinegar, oil and heat is out of this world when adding it to any food. Since the jalapenos have the oil and vinegar, the hot sauce will last about 6 months in the fridge and about two to 3 months in room temp.
Churches is a little more cheaper here in New Mexico, greater deals than KFC. My dad mostly brings home churches then KFC for dinner at time it's different yet greatly tasty and still going strong =w=
I believe I was 11 in the mid 70s when Dad got us some Church's Chicken for the first time. I believe it was from the Seminary Drive location in Fort Worth, Texas. I instantly discovered it was way better than Kentucky Fried Chicken, which I believe tanked in quality after I was 9. If they still have them, try their hand held fried pot pies. They're quite good.

I worked at Church's Chicken 3 or 4 years I was 4⭐Master Merchant team leader which was a 3rd manager that's all😁 However I always thought that if they would change the grease twice a week they would be rolling in dough and go back to the roles maybe upgrade to sister Schubert dinner rolls or even better yet Texas toast like Lucky Wishbone, and come out with some fried red snapper bits or step up some Whiting fish it's cheap.
Why did Churches Chicken stop giving people the free dinner rolls with the Chicken? They picked up on the biscuit trend from KFC and Popeyes, but I liked that they used to give you free rolls with every Chicken order before they started selling the biscuits.

Well Church's chicken ia good especially the honey butter biscuits and fried okra. I have to come home and put the thighs in the oven to dry some of the grease out of it, also they don't put no black pepper on the chicken its no good if you put the black pepper on after you cook it. To me black pepper makes the chicken taste better.
I'm saddened by how the one church's chicken in my neighborhood got raided back when it was happening, and hasn't reopened since, just like the dollar general.
I don't know if all of the Church's shops do this, but the one up the street from me carves the chicken in a weird way to create more pieces. I haven't seen this at any other fried chicken shop.
I used to love Church's Chicken. However, not so much in recent years. The company changed something about their recipe that now makes once awesome flavorful chicken taste like cardboard.

We still have a Church's restaurant in our area, but it is just doing enough business to stay in business. KFC isn't doing much better either as there is too many fast food joints in the area, but major restaurants are doing fine even with the pandemic.

Im in Boston and we only had one as far as i can remember, im 50 noe and it was when i was 15
they opened one in ontario next to detroit & it’s really good!

Church's looks so shaggy with small stores and poor infrastructure but the food is so juicy and oily for cheaper than raw chicken from walmart.
The Church's Chicken in my old neighborhood closed down last year.
I remember a texas chicken in the UK ... it was nice but the froze yogurt was a bit... umm wierd especially when its not a thing in the UK
I'm saddened by how the one church's chicken in my neighborhood got raided back when it was happening, and hasn't reopened since, just like the dollar general.
That Also Happened In San Bernardino, CA On Waterman Ave.!!! Churches Was Supposed To Be A Neutral Zone.. But Some Punks Decided To Smash The Windows.
I don't know if all of the Church's shops do this, but the one up the street from me carves the chicken in a weird way to create more pieces. I haven't seen this at any other fried chicken shop.
I used to love Church's Chicken. However, not so much in recent years. The company changed something about their recipe that now makes once awesome flavorful chicken taste like cardboard.
Got two right here in my neighborhood. When I was pregnant with my first, it was spicy Church's chicken with jalapeños. Ahhhhhhh! Hot, crispy and delicious!
The only time I have seen a Church’s was 8 years ago. And that was in the hood side of South Phoenix
I would be willing to try out this chicken from Church's, each restaurant has their own specialty recipe.
We still have a Church's restaurant in our area, but it is just doing enough business to stay in business. KFC isn't doing much better either as there is too many fast food joints in the area, but major restaurants are doing fine even with the pandemic.
I like churches more than kfc and popeyes who agree with me

I saw a church’s chicken next to a church in Galveston, TX. That must be where they get the chicken from.
I never even had churches chicken. 😭 The only location I know near my grandmother's house is now closed.
