    Seinfeld sits were comedy gold, but only true Met fans know what a legend this guy was! Total winner and one of the smartest ballplayers I have ever seen!

      Olerud was the closest we've come to seeing a 1B like him since.....I see why Keith was Jerry's favorite player. Fundamentally sound and clutch. But also....hella swag

    Greatest fielding 1st baseman ever. 296 career batting average. Clutch world series performances. MVP...plus in MVP voting year after year
    Hall of Fame

      Totally agree....I think his connection to drugs earlier in his career has kept him out so far. Hopefully the veterans committee gets him in at some point.

    Pretty cool watching Keith arrive in NYC in 1983 and has now beloved even by fans that never saw him play live.

    Great highlight reel of the best 1B in Mets history! Was hoping to see one of Keith's patented hits past the 3B off a lefty pitcher, idea for the next reel. 🙂

      Frigging Sandy Alderson " overhyped" and said Keith had a .446 OBP lifetime. I knew he was way off on that stat.

    Greatest defensive first baseman ever. Him to Herr/Smith back to him. Vacuum up bunts. Shifted momentum in ganes. Career .296.(over .300 if not injuries late in career) Great eye walkd often Led 2 teams to WS titles. He did coke. That he isn't in the Hall of Fame is a disgrace.

    The two best defensive plays by Keith are missing: The one against the Astros, where he fields a fair groundball in foul territory and the throws out the batter at first, and the 3-5-4 double play against the Reds.

    Keith Hernandez needs to be in the Hall of Fame as soon as possible

  • @michaell874
    @michaell874 Год назад +1

    I think Keith Hernandez deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, but at this point he isn’t. Hernandez was the greatest defensive first baseman who hit for high averages each year and was clutch in big situations. Unfortunately, there were so many good first basemen in the National League during the times he played. In the 1970’s there was Willie Stargell, Tony Perez and Steve Garvey and in the 1980’s there was Mark Grace, Will Clark and Jack Clark, but overall the mark he left on the game should never be forgotten. He was a leader who won in St. Louis and in New York. What more could ge have done?
