Hi Jon. Your comment Sounds interesting. Which brushless system have you been using? I am pending between a Quicrun 1080 with 5-slot motor vs the Hobbywing Axe brushless System. Not sure whether the Axe is worth the money...

I haven't done any comparisons against the crawlmaster motors because they are slower and just built differently. I have an almost new titan 21t I could run against the 12t if you think that would be interesting.
@@ExocagedRC I looked at your vídeo of titan x trailmaster 12t.. titan 21t with 2s is Just a little faster than crawlmaster 15t with 3s. But minimal difference. But with crawlmaster you have much more control at low speeds. Thanks for the vídeos with the infos.
Hey Joe, great comparison video! What pinion are you running in that rig? What differences are you feeling with these motors vs the equivalent turn Trailmaster sport? I run a Trailmaster sport 27t with 9t pinion in mine and really like how it does. Have been interested in a crawlmaster sport since they came out tho.
Low Budget RC stock 11t pinion. The “older” 3 slot motors have more low end torque according to Holmes, also the 3slot have a higher effective KV than the 5 slot ones do. The 5 slot are smoother but both are smooth enough I can’t really tell which ones are better.
Not sure if you check these older vids but a question on these motors. Just getting into the hobby (built a TRX4 chassis kit) and some of the basics seem to not always apply. Stock comes with that 550 21T motor and what I've read basically is high turn = high torque and low turn = more speed. But here you are running a 12t motor that is slower than the stock 21t motor on the 3s...why is that?
The Crawlmaster motors have 5 slots on the armature. The other motors have 3 slots. Basically a 5 slot is slower than a 3slot and with that you can run lower turns and still have a smoother crawling motor.
@@ExocagedRC awesome, thanks man. sometimes there's so much information out there it's actually hard to figure out the answer. Do you by chance have any videos on the TRX4 axles? I get a very jerky forward motion. and I have read people say everything from its normal to my drive shafts are a little too long and you need to grind off half a millimeter. I'm not a big fan of grinding stuff off if not necessary.
Spiffy_McAwesome it’s normal. At full turn the tires speed up and slow down twice per revolution. If you drive it slow enough you can see the tire do this. The trick it to only steer as much as you need and to try to never go full throttle at full lock. Most of the time they survive fine and most don’t even notice when driving.
