I love max intelligence build. Its fun maxing out all stats, using any weapon and oassing all skill checks. Gotta respect the bravery on this build cause he just ran up and up smashed.
Speech is boring you just dialogue your way through 90% of the fights you could of had, everybody lives and you actually end up missing out of most of the unique dialogue in the game because nobody dies.
I've played a character who was all physical attributes and nothing else. Dude was freaking indestructible, regenerating faster than he could take bullets, and could basically punch his way through any problem eventually. His only Achilles Heels were nukes and locked doors.
I remember actually getting obliterated in like 2 seconds after the dialogue after picking the wrong option. His rangers dont mess around. I was so mad, bc I had just spent 30 minutes trying to beat Lanius and his cronies only for my autosave to be before the Lanius fight.
I just killed this dude 2 nights ago, I had the best power armor, the avenger, gobi scout campaign rifle. I kicked everybodies ass, I guess the 20hrs of preparing was a bit excessive
oliver isnt meant to be the final boss UNLESS if youre legion. in which case he is harder to deal with. in this scenario hes basically just a speedbump
i just beat my first play-through and i beat the game with speech 95 with a grimy prewar business suit (+5 speech(so a total of 100)) so i talked Lanius into leaving. But only after attempting to fight him 6 times prior with my best attempts getting him only slightly below half health (I also had Veronica and gave her t-45 armor and did her quest-line that gives her stronger offense). dont fear the man with high speech, fear the man with none
I feel ya bud, I too made my own 2-3 charisma anti-social nerd build. Like absolutely no Speech investment and only 40 Barter. Like, even with that amount, this guy knowledge would still be mostly around economic theory rather than about negotiating with people for lowering price. But he got like 10 INT and 10 LCK, otherwise mostly average 5 in physical stats barring 7 PER If this is Fallout 4 + DLCs, my future army of Mojave would be composed entirely of wide varieties of robots but almost to none organic soldiers that I can rally with my speech/leadership. I can imagine Mr House would have decent amount of Automatron style Robot Modification Station in that Securitron bunker. So no issues if I need to specialize my army roles. Too many post-ending fanfics portray Courier 6 as one with many friends, people that loyal to him, national army, NCR don't threaten war. I think a Courier that could brute force his way through unfortunate circumtances, using his knowledge gained from Big MT and Sierra Madre would be interesting. I would probably turned entire border of Mojave wasteland into Maginot line; automated turrets, smart mines, bunker, you name them. Because there's no way that NCR would not declare war against you in near future with Gen Oliver being killed. But it might be yet another unpopular war as long as you keep Kimball alive. If Oliver and Kimball are dead because of your action, well that's certainly would anger NCR as whole. But your stats and skillset could certainly solve that. Sierra Madre Vending Machine could solve the inherent problem with war of attrition that my side could suffer normally. Roboscorpion could solve what Securitrons might have face problem in Urban Warfare scenario. And that sweet Soylent Green could turn any vegetable/fruit into nutritious food. It's the risk of being infiltrated by Frumentarii that I honestly can't think my character could just scrub that kind of issue. Or my any form of covert activities by foreign power.

The sooner they realize that Southern Mojave is full of death trap and killing zone, the more they would be to accept and recognize Courier's rule. NCR have thier own uses too, as economic partner in the long run. The nuking of Long 15 might not be viable unless you do really want to establish some kind of autarky that bad. But I think NCR will find their way one day, even if through Area 51 or crossing from Arizona, circling from the south.
