I have watched a lot of vids trying to explain what this radio can do. This video you created here really does a great job of that. Holy cow. What a beast of a radio. Subscribed!
got mine on Tuesday. feels amazing. easily as quality in the hand as my Sanwa MT-4. the RX are Tiny and cheap and its edgetx.my only wish would be for a flashier looking screen. its the only thing that keeps it from completly trashing the $500 brand name radios. a color touch screen would be killer. but that would up the price. for the money this thing is just insane. one thing I like that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is the throttle trigger seems to have more physical throw than most surface radios. gives you more precision. strangely being as its Asian made, it seems to be designed for people with large hands. the SB 3 way switch is a stretch to reach with my medium large hands, and the throttle trigger I have moved ALL the way in and its barely enough.
Im a racer and im going to order one of these soon. IT IS 1.5 ms for under $150! Also receivers are under $20! Its $200 for all my classes! Now we need a drop down wheel adapter and im set
Just remember that it can have up to 2ms more of PWM time since the receiver doesn’t use a fast serial protocol to the servo, and if it just started a PWM cycle it could have most of another 2ms of PWM to finish. So maybe up to 6ms worst-case.
@@techstuff6829 Might be a dumb question, but wouldn’t that apply to any other pwm receiver? Even the most hardcore racing radios out there. In order to get the best possible latency, you’d have to run a serial receiver with a servo and esc supporting direct serial connection? This would be the perfect radio for that kind of setup in my mind🤔
Great vid Lee. I’ve been trying to build an FPV car with ELRS for a while now. It keeps getting too complex for me coming from wings and quads. I think this will help.
I've installed a Walksnail fpv system on my Arrma Typhon 3s BLX and its nt complex at all, all you ned is the red and black wires connected, since im using the Walksnail goggles also, theres no need to connect the other two wires to anything. Also, when i first installed it, the system was not getting cool down from the driving, i had to installed a fan on top of the hd transmitter to the 20x20 screw holes so it can keep it cool. My buggy is also running an expresslrs receiver and the distance is amazing with no flaws. Hope this helps.
There are only a couple things I don't quite like about it next to a Radiolink I've been using.. The Radiolink seems to be setup very intuitively. While I kind of wanted an extra potentiometer at one point, I realized it wasn't the best idea. I want a 2 axis camera rig but I also need it to return to center. I don't want to be turning a knob and then have to recenter it every time. Head tracking would also be an issue when out at range and needing to use patches facing a certain direction. I find a quick left/center/right switch to be ideal. The Radiolink switches are set up in a way where I can seamlessly control the 2 axis cam, flashlight, horn etc.. It's just natural to me now. I don't really see that being the case with how they've laid out the MT12. Also I've been using PPM through the DSC port and the latency has been totally fine to me, nothing more to be desired honestly. What I wanted more from it though was more channel support. I've never needed to trim things like steering or throttle or braking on the fly using switches.. I do it in the programming. So to me those trim switches are just taking up space. The ultimate ground controller for me would just come in the quality that Radiomaster provides, but just be laid out a little more intuitively.
I really enjoyed your videos, it's valuable, thanks, I have a Q regarding MT12 if you figure it yet, if not no problem 1- Can I set a back light with only back throttle 2- can we set a head lights with only a front throttle 3- along with the previous

I would love to see some programming ideas for this radio. I am using it for racing mostly. I put the LED's on the 3 way switch. and put the RX voltage telemetry on audible call out on the underside momentary switch. also put volume on one of the knobs.
Great video Lee, as always. Is there a way to setup a button to act as an "arm and disarm" state like in fpv so i can't hit throttle by accident and have my buggy take off if i bump the throttle?
That would be so awesome Lee, thank you. I'm sure there are subscribers that would benefit from this. Thanks again and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Thank you for all those informative videos. I am interested in buying one, but I need some channel delay functionality as well for my particular setup. Does it have channel delay as we are used in the plane versions of edgetx??

Hi, I'm still trying to figure out the programming for turret control. This is the controller I'm actually trying to do it on. I would like to use the joy stick expansion module to control a tank turret without the outputs returning to center when I release the stick. Just like how a video game controller operates on a first person shooter. I watched a bunch on videos on the playlist you linked me to but couldn't find the one the covered any similar programing.
You need to setup two controls to decrement and increment a global variable and then use that GV as the 'weight' for the channel for the turret. ruclips.net/video/J_b9eGId_NM/видео.html was the closest to what you want. At the moment. EdgeTX is having to catch up with features like this as more ground based users demand it. Using things like GVs and 'Drive modes' make for a less than simple solution..
I'm a drag racer. Some of the features we utilize, are throttle over time, and sometimes multiple "stages" and "button launch controls". I'll give an example of a complex drag scenario: The light goes green, you pull the trigger to 100%. The remote sends 25% throttle instantly, then linearly scales to 70% over 0.4 seconds, then scales to 100% over 0.2 seconds. Is this feasible? Some radios, we utilize this, but use a button to launch. For example, you're waiting for the light to turn green. You're holding the trigger at 100%, but also holding a button down.. and say, this button effectively makes your epa zero.. the light goes green, you release the button, the epa goes back to 100%, and the car takes off with the instructions mentioned previously. Possible? This would be very huge for our segment. I'm very interested to hear your thoughts, because currently, it requires a $700-1000 radio to accomplish this.. and have good latency for the very necessary reason time on the green light
Just got mine, it’s uncomfortable as all hell, my trigger finger hits the back overhang and feels awful operating the throttle 😢 hope I get used to it 🤨
Hi, do you know if it will bind to the flysky fs-gr3e receiver? I have many models using that receiver and would like to upgrade my current flysky transmitter.
I have both the elrs and the 4 in 1. It’s funny that they look the same with no physical identification. How can I quickly tell which one is which when getting them out of my transmitter area lol
After years of flying drones, I'm getting into RC cars/boats. I know the receiver of some RC cars have a gyro that somehow keeps them running mostly straight. Is there a ELRS PWM receiver for cars with a gyro? And how does a gyro in a receiver work? I'm used to gyros in my flight controllers, not receivers. Don't need an answer here - this is more of an idea for a future ELRS video.
