    What I couldn't figure out 100%: Where do you look at in the moment of the shot e. g. when the blade hits the puck?
    Never had any damages of the house from pucks ricochetting from the bar/posts? (I guess that might be because your accuracy is quite good, especially top right it was impressive!)

    @thealphagn I got mine all for free during the winter. There is an outdoor rink near where I live and when the snow melted I walked around and picked up all the pucks. For you I would recommend asking the guys that work at the rink, I used to be a rink rat and we had a tonne of pucks in the back, the guys would let me keep any I found when cleaning, offer them $10 for 20 pucks and maybe they will just say here take them for free, either way you get a deal!

    @manimanus generally the toe of the blade.. that way if you are hitting 4-6 inches behind the puck getting the flex you want.. it will automatically flatten the stick so that the blade is flat on the ice by the time it contacts the puck

    hi, im still having trouble lifting the puck. i follow through high but the puck is still on the ground. do i have to snap my wrist like in the wrist n snap shot?

  • @curtdude7
    @curtdude7 11 лет назад +1

    its because when you're on ice you're most likely not pushing much with your legs to transfer the weight cause you're sliding a lot. when you're on the pavement your feet grip the ground and you can easily push your whole body forward so practice transferring your weight

    loving how u use wooden sticks to take slapshots with, dont wanna break the expensive ones! thats what i do

  • @howtohockeytraining
    @howtohockeytraining  14 лет назад

    @xitzgrimx For the hardest shot you need great form, then the proper flex on your stick, and then I would start worrying about the curve of your stick. Typically people who take a lot of slapshots do prefer a straighter curve (heel curves) but I wouldn't say it will make a noticeable difference in power. Work on your form, transferring your weight, and using your legs and core muscles. We have a bunch of videos on slapshot power. Try a flatter curve and if you like it, keep it!

  • @mariopena2207

    I know this may be a stupid question , but basically do you slam the stick against the ground before it hits the puck to create this "flex" ? I played for the first time the other day and noticed I had no power nor control at all with shooting. I notice though I was trying to hit the puck only without hitting the ground since I was scared this would damage or break the stick. in all your vids you and others hit the stick against the floor which created that slingshot effect as I call it , correct ?

    • @kbob289
      @kbob289 6 лет назад

      mario pena yes you are correct

    • @ryanharding2323
      @ryanharding2323 6 лет назад

      mario pena you should hit the ice before the puck but don’t lose your power hitting the ice. Try to sweep the ice up to the puck. Just don’t chop the ice. But don’t take my word for it cause I’m only a peewee hockey player🤣😂
