Not really fair. That means someone will be passing them the puck and some people will get better passes than others. Also the speed of the pass will effect the shot speed.

They need to change it because there are so many players that are not all stars but could easily come first in the skill competition.
yeah saturday we should see the all star competition with any nhl player who has the hardest shot/ fastest skating and stuff like that then the next day you have have the all star game where only all stars play

So much for new tech... Wooden sticks were way harder on the slap shot, but the wrist shot the bending of the stick you get a whipping action, 14 years as goalie, wrist shots are hard to read. Slap shots it's all about your angle, as long as your D clears your net...
DAAAMN.... and I thought my hair was getting a bit gray despite only being 32. Ovechkin is the same age and his is GRAY. I find just a couple on the top of my head and a bit more around my sideburns, but Ovechkin..... looks like he's in his late 40s-early 50s. Looks older than Jagr.

Look at Ovechkin in the slomo at 6:25 - he doesn't flinch or groan the way Stamkos and some of the others did. That power went into the puck instead.
