@cameron21ROCKS thin plexiglas will break if you take slapshots and thick plexiglas is the same price as a shooting pad but a lot heavier and not as slippery. If you are going to do a lot of shooting and stickhandling then shooting pads are the most durable, best material and will last the longest but if you just want something to mess around on the odd time there are cheaper alternatives
Quick wrister is a snap shot. There is no clear cut between them. Any quick release shot in hockey is a snap shot (faster one timer, or faster wrister). That's why there is so much confusion about it.
@TheLoserSakaTheOiler The big roll up one is about $120, it gives you a huge surface to practice on though. You can grab a coupon code on my website to save $10, and we have a full review.
@wikiwangster5000 My friend is a defensive specialist, we have a few articles on the site about defense, but we will see if we can get a video up for you! You should join our facebook page as well!
@lex77777 Thanks, glad you liked the video. I try to add something for beginners and for the more seasoned players. Most players will already shoot using both methods, but they haven't really thought about the difference, and advantages of one over the other. I didn't really notice how big the difference was until I started testing them both using a radar gun!
@donervin1 upvote, upvote, upvote. I know what you mean when shooting. I peak at the puck, peak at the net, then fire. The hip action is important to get the core muscles working. I wanted to put this out there because a lot of players aren't really aware of the different shooting styles. Thanks for adding to it!
@donervin1 agreed, you know your stuff! Kovalev has a good video that shows how important loading the stick is to get more power. Thanks for your comment!
hey jeremy, whats the difference between the quick release wrist shot and the snap shot on the "off foot"? they both release on the same leg and stuff. I have lots of success with the off foot wrister, little less with the snap shot. Whats the diff. between the two?
I have a question. are wrist shots or snap shots better if you shoot off your right leg (if you shoot right)? Because they are two different shots and I wanted to know which one should be used for what situation or which is better for most of the time
Hey Jeremey! Any tips for us novice players who are developing our shot but still can't get the puck off the ice consistently? I first learned the SnapShot where I can basically "scoop and fling" the puck real quick if i'm close to the net -but using the wrist shot I just can't seem to get the puck more than a couple inches off the ice. HELP!!
Wow, you guys are totally right. I haven't seen a video or article about this either. But you really know what you're talking about and you get the point across. Nice videos!
Awesome video. I just started playing roller hockey and I'm having A LOT of trouble getting the puck in the air when I shoot. It seems no matter what I do I can't elevate the puck. Does anyone have any advice for me to maybe help me be able get my shot up? Thanks brad
hey jeremy i love the videos. I shoot lefty but my dominant hand is my right so its really hard for me to put a lot of power into my shot with my left hand, i end up shooting the puck low and soft. Do you have any tips to help me develop more strength in my shot with my left hand?
youve probably figured it out by now, but follow through with your toe (of your stick) pointed at the exact spot you want it to go. the puck, if youre shooting right, shoot roll around the curve of your blade and continue wherever your toe is pointed
great video geez my secret is out. Alot of people always wonder how a skinny guy like me gets so much power off my wrist shot and you explained it perfectly. It would be nice if you demonstrated it. Emphasize bending the knees - getting you butt down to get even more power. Your right about it not mattering if the goalie can tell your about to take a wrist shot. Its hard for him to determine where the shot is goin cuz of THE WAY it leaves your blade makin it hard to predict trajectory.
@ARNDG5 YEAH,it's never too late to start, i used to wish i could start when i was at 10years old. i'm 18 now , and i started everything this year(even sktating), and i'm pretty good already. but u gotta practice a lotttt
Along with buying one, an amazing alternative is buying some cheap plexi glass (or along those lines). Once set up in correct area, spray pledge on the glass and wipe it down. Just started doing it, amazing.
i started playing hockey last year. and i need some help on my wrist shot. i can do the wrist shot, but the puck wont flick up. it always stays on the ground, never goes up. Can anyone help me?
I was actually doing this a lot tonight against my buddies playing pick up hockey would've had goals with the deke move but just couldn't bury it inside the post

Elijah Belmont no snap shots have a much shorter release and the puck usually does not travel from the heel to the toe like a wrist shot - there is only a small patch of contact with the blade.
Are flip flops required?
Are those Nike Bauer gloves?! Is there still anywhere to get them?!

nice video. most players would have never though about using different types of releases

@isaacbyun12 If only I had his moves! I've actually learned a few moves from him. I am going to share how to do them once the ice is back in our rink!
@korn14420 Ha, never heard that before. I hear Ashton Kutcher the odd time, and one person said I look like Milan Lucic

@CaRpeDieam96 check out our videos, we have a few on accuracy
hey ive heard that if u shoot off the toe of the stick it doesnt have as much power as if u shoot off the mid blade
how do you obtain better accuracy when shooting? It never ends up where i think im shooting towards.
Isn't the first one a snapshot?? I like your videos

Elijah Belmont no snap shots have a much shorter release and the puck usually does not travel from the heel to the toe like a wrist shot - there is only a small patch of contact with the blade.
One of my friends on my AA team scored a goal aiming at the left side of the net the golie was his cusin

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.
Wow, VERY nice of you to say that.. Sarcasm intended.
my coach said that the first one is not a wrist shot and it is a bad way to shoot
