  • I have been thinking a lot about my Dad lately. I miss him so much:( This is the only video I have of him. For those that know me, and those that think they know me, and those that don't really know me at all, this will give you a little
insight to part of who I am and the wonderful parents that I have. This all took place back in 2003/2004, so it has been quite a while, and my kids are probably going to want to kill me for posting it now, but it was a very important and happy event in my life and I will never forget it. I want to thank my Birth Mother, Carol Jones, and especially my Parents, Bill & Priscilla Johnson....you have given me a wonderful life and I love you both to the moon and back.

Congratulations, Beth! I am so happy that all has worked out with you & your birth mom. I hope your reunion with your birth father went well.
I'm a birth mom, too - from Texas. Laws are different here. My adoption story is bittersweet, in that my daughter & I had our first reunion last summer after ten years. It went very well, and she also got to meet my oldest sister for the first time.

That's wonderful. As I'm watching this I'm thinking that you look like you could be a cousin, and then find out your Mom is in Rochester, NY where I live. Whoa, I bet we're distantly related some how.

Hi miss Mayhew , I was adopted as well when i was 6 months old and iv never located my birth parents, i was a rebel and depressed girl growing up even tried to commit suicide many times but the Lord was good enough and he is the reason i am still here... my life was horrible until i gave up my life to Jesus..u kept saying u wanted to find out who u are... i just want u to know that u cannot find who u are in people.. people fail.. u will only be able to find out who u really are and be truly and COMPLETELY HAPPY AND WHOLE in JESUS CHRIST.. i looked out in people to fill the void the emptiness that i had but i couldnt find it..cause people do fail us.. but Jesus doesnt.. when i found him i tell u now lady i am 100% HAPPY 100% WHOLE 100% KNOW WHO I AM..dont look in people what u can find only in Jesus Christ darling.. May the Lord bless and change ur life... Much love ... Giselle...Lopes... xx Romans 15:13

It's not just the adoptee, but their children who wonder the same thing. My dad was adopted in 1950, as a very small infant. I look just like him, nothing like my mother or her family. I always wondered where I get my hair from, my face, my mannerisms, my personality and my sense of humour. You didn't just look for yourself, you looked for your children. We need to know too. I'm glad I know now. I know what I'll look like when I'm elderly. I'm going to be beautiful, just like my birth grandma.

Lisa, you need to become educated about adoptees and the trauma of separation which last a lifetime, and how bonds are formed and memories are made between child In utero and the mother-and the family and environment beyond the womb until birth ….. We know our mothers' breath sounds, her heartbeat, her likes, her dislikes, her emotions, her voice everything about her. We know about our father and our sibs and even the family dog before we are born… not to forget that we are genetically tied not only to her and our father, but to ancestors and siblings, close ans immediate family... without her and him we would nat be alive ….the daughter you relinquished knows you far better than you know... too bad you don't know her ...but actually you do know her... the only fear we have is fear itself.... don't let your terror (self-induced) keep you from reuniting with her … Many of us will never have that chance to know our mothers, fathers, siblings, etc. Be thankful that you can meet and reconcile whatever may need to be mended.

Thanks Beth! Yes, we've met twice in person and it (fortunately) has been a very happy reunion. No one on her side of the family knows I exist (long story), including her current husband of 32 years, but I'll be breaking that news to him in a few weeks directly. Unfortunately, my father was killed while my mother and he were dating (car accident), then she found out she was pregnant with me and couldn't afford to keep me, so getting info on my father's side will be a lot more difficult.

You can look or try to and there would be records. Now that more states are opening them I have to keep looking myself. Time may be running out since I'm already close to 60 myself but i only found out a few years ago. God bless you all and God help you all find and NOT be rejected but I have seen so many where the parents MIGHT or one might reject but siblings usually won't especially once a parent is deceased since it's often loyalty that stops this. I have the same issues with one adoptive parent who says it's okay to look but I still feel disloyal and yet since I may already be too late since she just told me a few years ago, I am always pulled. After watching almost three straight days of positive stories I am going forward and may use the ancestry kits since records are so ridiculous in Chicago where I am allegedly from and NY and other states that have really mixed up records. For me I feel time is of the essence and it's all very confusing and emotional and you have to just not give up I guess is what I have seen the last few days. Though they always change your name so all I have is a birth sirname.

{{{Beth}}} Thank you so much for sharing this incredibly touching video. I am not adopted but can most certainly relate on another level. My beautiful niece (my sister's daughter) has no idea who her bio dad is. I have tried and tried to help her through ancestry, 23&me and heritage utilizing the dna approach (she has no information whatsoever about who her dad is) to no avail. My niece is 43 yrs old and is my sister's only child; it's heartbreaking beyond words to watch her go through this journey and being at the point of giving up hope. I will share your video with her in hopes of renewing her strength to carry on with her search. Thanks again! It's all LOVE!! We are ONE!!

In ten more days, I get to meet my four birth sister's for the first time. My 1st mother passed away before I could meet her, and my BioDad remains an unknown at this time, but with DNA testing, and the help of my 'search angels', the field has been recently narrowed to just a few men.

I met my birth dad and half brother when I was 23. It was an instant connection. That was 14 years ago sad to report my birth dad died Dec 21 2014 and his son died May 26 2015. I will never forget the bond I felt.

AmericanPatriot so odd. Everyone I know calls their mother to tell them all the little things...when their kids do something funny during the day, or when the kids are acting horrible, 😂😂. Don’t get me wrong, we all love our dads, but mom is always the first person we think to call when something good or bad happens to us. 😊
