Surrendered - Ep. 1 "Linda's Story of Loss and Reunion"
During 1945 to 1975, known as the Baby Scoop Era, it is estimated that over 2 million women in the US were coerced into surrendering their babies to adoption. After decades of remaining silent about what happened to them, some are finally coming forward to share their harrowing stories.
Linda, a mother of loss at 18 years old, grieved the loss of her son to adoption for decades. She was told she wasn't able to search for him until he turned 21. And on that day, she began the long search to find her first born.
The relationship she was able to build with her son after 26 years of separation, is a beautiful and rare story I wasn't expecting.
I am incredibly thankful that Linda entrusted me to share her story so that I could share it with the world.

    Beautiful story!
I am the mother of 6 adopted from Russia. I hope they will be able to connect with their birth family in Russia, one day. It’s not about me, it’s about what they want and need. I would support them, wholeheartedly. Thanks for sharing:)

Bless you for giving ylur baby life!! Forgive yourself. No one is perfect. In God's book He loves and accepts all babies. He's ready to forgive all of us for everything if we ask Him and accept what Jesus paid on the cross!

Linda is such an incredible person. These stories of forced adoption, parents putting such pressure on their daughters to give their babies up for adoption are heartbreaking. I wish her and her family all the best! 💛

Why couldnt your parents have treated you the way they treated your son and daughter-in-law when they were expecting? So bizarre to be treated so harshly by people who say they love you.To be alienated, shamed, isolated and robbed of your baby, and expected to survive and suceed, without mention afterwards is inhuman. So glad you have your son now. Keep him close to your heart and now you are in charge of the relationship. Life is short, love on those grandkids, enjoy every moment for yourself.❤️❤️❤️

They were older and married. Parents no doubt just truly believed their grandson would of had a better life with two parents then realised their wrong as they grew older and wanted to make up for it.

Wow, you are amazing and what a happy ending. Even if it was a long time before you found your son, you had hope and it was a happy time you and your so.
I was 18 when I was a first time mother, them days it was looked down to be pregnant and single. I didn't tell my daughter's father. I went to an unwedded home to live until I had her.
But my Dad was a single father raising my younger siblings, but he told me you can get an abortion, give it up for adoption; what ever you do it will always have to live with what you do. So you might as well as keep the baby, and he said that is my first grandchild.
When I took her home he was a happy grandpa. My husband adopted my daughter after we got married.
She is in touch with her biological father, but she said it's not the same as the father that's there everyday for you.
We all go through life with trials and God works them out in the end for us.
I am happy you and your son are reunited.

What further questions do you have for Linda about her experience at the home? I can reach out to her to ask. You can also watch the second episode in this series where another mother of loss shares about her experiences at a home, as well. There is also a mother of loss story line in my Beyond Biological series.

I had gas and it made me very nauseous, and sick. Plus you have all the pain and when it’s time to push I got the gas. Which made it fuzzy. Sorry for your painful experience
