Thank You for saving this simplisticly beautiful car in its overall original state as many of these cars were in part lost to Fairlane front clip swaps. Much like the early Ford "Wrong Beds" that were bed swapped, many of these odd and unique Ford (and other makes) vehicles will remain unknown to future generations.
This video definitely helped me out with this Falcon project. I haven't worked on many Falcons so I'm not very knowledgeable on them and the interchange of parts. I'm replacing the floor pan, rockers and right quarter, the floor pan was my concern and when I looked on classic industries and the 66 Fairlane floor pan looked identical to the 66 Falcon and I just wanted some confirmation on that situation for me. I appreciate the info! I have a 66 Falcon Futura that my dad bought for me in highschool. Now its in pieces in our shed but looking to start building it in a few years. I had no idea the chassis was based on the Fairlane. Good to know.
Just picked up a clean clean 69 falcon going to build a sleeper but this is my first Falcon been looking at the Australian models guys fix them nice & run good.Want to keep it looking stock as possible, I've been looking at Open track Racing.I like their spherical joint upper/lower control arms set-up, looking for a nice K member to beef it up but maintain the factory load of the shock towers and frame some say roof transfer.
I have to disagree that a 68 Fairlane/Torino dash will fit in a Falcon. I had a 68 Falcon. My dad had a 69 Montego, which was the Mercury counterpart to the Fairlane and Torino. They were wider cars than the Falcon. We used to have the service manuals for the 69s Fords and Mercurys, I used it to see how repair my 68, and for the most part, it was the same. There were differences, though, especially on parts unique to the specific year, like steering wheels.
The Fairlane/Torino dash with the multiple round gauges does fit. Several people have done it and there is an abbreviated how-to file in the Forgotten Falcons FB group. I have not done it myself though.
just got clean 66.thks for info ,ive been wondering about that stuff. also think i read engine compartment chged to fairlane size,,,capable of holding big block.???? any info on interior bucket seats,rear seat,

1966 to Early 1970 Ford Falcons actually shares a lot of parts with the 1966-1967 Fairlanes.... ;)

Takes any big block. Interior is Falcon/Fairlane only for bolt it.

You can only buy individual pans. No one is making full floors yet. Autokrafters sells them.
