7" LED or H4 headlamp conversion for 1/4 the price of Retrobrights!
Get them while you can...won't take long for Toyota to discover the secret is out.
Toyota part number 81110-60P70
This should work in any car with 7" round sealed beam 12v lamps. I've heard they will work on motorcycles also but may require modification to mount--not confirmed.
To my knowledge and that of the internet wizards who found this hack, there are no kits for square or quad lamp setups, sorry.

We live in MD where do you recommen to find one that is not a lemon?
Can't help you there.
@@mongrelmotorsports How risky is buying from FB?
Great video I will send it to my son. So if he buys one no older year 2005 right?
Pre-2005 is a different car. I don't think they are near as good.
Just installed one of the new lights with a Sylvania 9003 H4 LED's, Took me 5 minutes and just like Mongrel did and the difference is sooooo dramatic and great looking. The LED doesn't even get luke warm to the touch the stock light is very hot. I'm getting nice high beams also ! I wish I could post pics but it's not allowed. Or does someone know how to post a pic ? THANKS MONGREL for this tip !
Hello thank you for this video. My son has been working and is saving his money to buy a car and this mustang is the car he wants. I would like to honor his desire to buy the car he wants specially if he is paying for it but safety in my concern (he is looking at 2007 ford mustang deluxe coupe 2D) we live in MD so normal rain and snow but no extreme snow.....please advise
I think I covered the + and - in the video. Can't make a decision for a parent--you have to make the call. Try to get him in the school I talked about, putonthebrakes.org. An extra set of wheels from the junkyard or marketplace for some snow-specific tires. It will take several seasons to wear them out. Watch my other video on the V6 Mustang to learn some of the issues to look for when buying used. Maybe drive it yourself first and see what you think.
Thank you He also wants a motorcycle!!
THAT I wouldn't recommend for anyone under 25. :)
I've yet to take the step, but when I finally purchase a Scram, I'll appreciate your insights even more. Thanks for publishing your findings.
where did you get the frame mounts? were they something you got online or from another car? if they were bought online can you please reply with a link on where to get them?
You need frame mounts from a V8 falcon or Fairlane of the same years.
Sorry, the 4.0 does not have a duel exhaust pipe as the 4.6 or the 5.0.. The fact is the 4.0 only has 1 exhaust tail pipe.. Know your Mustangs rather then guessing!
Don't believe I ever said they have dual exhaust. I think I said they should. And mine does; it has a conversion along with a GT bumper.
my 4.0 has dual exhaust
@@tahjb1456 2005-2010 did not, do not have duel exhaust. That is not to say, you cannot modify the 4.0 to a duel exhaust.
sorry papi
I added duals, easy with gt parts
Is there a limit on replies ? I keep commenting on the LED's with a link but it doesn't post ? Are links not allowed ?
"Sylvania Bulb; 9003 LED H4; Fog Capsule; Pack Of 2 - 9003SLBX2"
I DON'T THINK THAT RUclips ALLOWS LINKS IN REPLIES.....I DID ORDER THEM FROM A NEARBY DEALER TODAY.....THEY SHOULD BE HERE ON WEDNESDAY.....THEY WERE $30.00.....
QUESTION.....WHICH TOYOTA DEALER DID YOU GET THE LIGHT KIT FROM?....I'M IN MARYLAND AND THE DEALER NEAR ME SAYS THAT HE CANNOT GET THE KIT.....THANKS.....
I ordered my kit this morning here in California. Should arrive tomorrow for $21.75. Do you have other dealers within a short drive ?
@@ea313712 YEAH.....I WILL TRY A DIFFERENT DEALER.....BUT I WAS JUST WONDERING IF HE USED ONE NEAR ME.....
I WILL TRY A DIFFERENT DEALER TOMORROW.....BUT I WAS JUST WONDERING IF HE WENT TO A DEALER NEAR ME.....
My dealer in PA had no problem ordering. It took a few days as there were none on the east coast.
You mentioned water/moisture could get in, from which area would the moisture/water get in from ? From the rear black rubber grommet or the front glass area ?
The rubber 'condom' is designed to seal tightly around the H4 bulb. It can't do that with the LED. There is no rubber o-ring on H4 bulb style attachments like there is on 'modern' headlamps, so I suspect moisture could possibly wick in. But I may be worried about nothing.
You had no issues with the Toyota lights fitting properly like the stocks lights ?
Do the toyota ones have tabs on the lens to secure against the metal round rings ?
Nope. They fit right in and have the tabs that fit the old lamp housings.
@@mongrelmotorsports Good to know. My 67 should be the same set up as your 66 ?
THANKS.....THIS VIDEO WAS VERY HELPFUL.....
I absolutely loathe new cars with leds at night they are just too bright
Since these are in standard lights, with a normal beam pattern (H4 patterns are usually better than old sealed beams!) I doubt these will be offensive.
I wanted to ask are you able to run your heater with that on there? I was on CJ pony parts looking for that plastic piece you were talking about and under the questions and answers it said that you can't run your heater while that's on there. Not that I plan on driving my car much in the winter time but I was just curious. And I'm assuming it keeps the water out when you wash the car cuz that's my problem at leaks when I wash it
I've run my heater all the time with it in place. Without it, cold air blasts in through the rust holes! You may need to rely on the fan to move air over the heater core instead of outside air but it works fine. And yes, I wash my car with that in place and no water inside.
This is the most beautiful stock 4.0 I've ever seen!!!!!!'
The distributor shaft may be wiggling
Use the thicker compression gaskets
Can I buy the converter from you
Take the carburetor apart and adjust the floats and the mixture screws on the front one and a half turn
Ant the throttle linkage i use the 67 mustang but i cut and bend the opposite end and drill hole for Carter pin
69,70 cougar steering column fits no problem and make the car a floor shift
Own the same year model here in Australia which is fuel injected. Had it for 3 years and racked up 43000 ks. Has a few mods like staintune exhausts (eliminates the wheel removal issue and sounds great). Ohlins rear shocks, removed pollution rubbish, and crashbar with highway pegs. Regular oil changes every 5 to 6000 ks, and tyres is all the maintenance I've done. These bikes are near bullet proof! Been riding 50 years now and owned a swag of different bikes over the years. Can say i have no plans on ever parting with it. Fantastic hassle free bikes with class and style. Highly recommended if thinking about one. They do everything well. Not outstanding, but they will hold their ground and are very reliable.
I think if I sprung for some name brand rear shocks the bike would be near perfect.
@@mongrelmotorsports well worth the investment mate. Improves the bike greatly.
The steerring wheel you show for the '68 is correct for 68 69 and 70 had a different steering wheel they are padded 2 spoke, but have a curveature to them with the end tappering towards the rim of the steering wheel.
For what it's worth - the bike is still available here in Germany - together with the 411 Himalayan even though the 452 was introduced. That means the 411 fulfills Euro 5, because it becomes obligatory starting 1.1.2025
This motor looks familiar. It's in my car now
Is it running?
Very helpful video, mate!! Thank you very much for taking the time to put it together for us.
Thank you so much!
You can buy an adjustable vacuum modulator for the transmission that will alter your 1 - 2 shift point.
They are all adjustable. I gave this one a turn and it made no difference. The 'green stripe' version is supposed to be the best. Considering my options.
Im a big fan of the stock wheel the same as fitted to the XR in Australia except ours were white
The blue one Looks like a trans star torque converter
IT WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR THE ENGINE RUN.....YOU SAID THAT WE HEARD THE MOTOR RUN AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS VIDEO.....BUT I RE-PLAYED THE VIDEO AND THERE WAS NO ENGINE RUNNING SECTION OF THIS VIDEO.....
Should be a quick clip of it idling at the start. Next one will definitely have it, assuming I fix the hunting idle problem.
Beautiful Rims ❤
100% Correct, on all points @ 65 this is my "Unicorn" it will see me out, it does what it says on the tin. I am very happy with mine. DNA filter, Delvik system and Fuelx, gives Zero performance increase but sorts out all the Euro5 rubbish which will hopefully enhance engine life due to cooler running.
I had a new 2007 Mustang v6 with the pony package that looked just the one in this video ,It was very nice to drive .Traded it in to get a new Tacoma in 2010
If you put your shoes on the correct foot neutral will work perfect 😅
Is that the talll windshield ? Where did you purchase it from
ruclips.net/video/Nj1qiFtB3iQ/видео.htmlsi=iNKxV0f1bF06r0jA
Could of had a engine machine shop hot take the case, take off neutral safety switch and modulator, can you use a small punch and hit the corner of the hex Head, they shouldn't be very tight, and don't lose the little pin thats in the valve, that transmission bock is a very good book, thats that same book i started out with 20+ years ago , 6 cylinder dums have les clutchs then v8, on fords some time the snap ring groove are in different heights, or they use a v8 drum with thicker pressure plate on 6 cylinder, why am i telling you this it probably finished
The windshield frame looks totally different from box art
You're right. I never noticed that!
I love the sound and the all paint colored look and the clean functional understated interior. They’re badass. But not fast by today’s standards.
same 0 to 60 as a 2014 6.2 svt raptor... sleep on em
I also love the true dual exhaust and I think these trucks sound lovely with the side exit bassani exhaust system.
I love the thought process that ford had when they designed this truck. I’m just wondering why they didn’t upgrade the rear axle housing when they upgraded the engine and transmission. I think the traction bars, aluminum driveshaft, and tubular headers were great added details. Stuff that auto manufacturers don’t do on most production vehicles now. Good looking truck.
Hi there, do you happen to have the part number? I don't see this available in Europe but I'd like to ask my local dealership anyway before ordering online.
No p/n. It's just referred to as the Touring seat.
You said you wouldnt wear an open face helmet after your crash but would you trust the safety of a modular? Thats the kind I want. Modular Bilt.
Most are pretty well made. I don't care for them myself, but I wouldn't be afraid to ride with one.
Sound irritate 👎 this chain ⛓️ bike fuddu, fujal and pappu this motorcycle
I just bought a Mustang 4.0 a few days ago, I love driving it, just i cant right now because there is a giant hole in my gas tank.
Hi, I live in Europe and am considering buying one. Can you tell me what the price range is second hand with this v6 engine? I will ship it from USA to Europe, because they are not often found here.
@@Makrage fun fact, you can upgrade the Mustang to a 5.0 if you are willing to pay the money!
Chrome foil never looks right. It adds too much thickness to the trim
I used to be a big believer in it, but I've since gone back to just using paint.
I’ll smoke all of these with my Altima SR
Possibly. But you'll still be driving an ugly Altima.
@@mongrelmotorsports the car is gorgeous
ill smoke that altima with a accord 6-6
So what?

I have a 2011 865 (fake carbs, 17" wheels) and I am pretty happy about it (I have six other bikes in the garage...) I agree with most of the comments here. I find the saddle ridiculously hard, it's clearly designed for the looks only. I did not feel like spending several hundreds euros, I solved the issue with a an inflatable pillow from SW Tec, it works pretty well, and raised the seat level (I am 6'). Suspensions too were ridiculously stiff, making for a horrible handling. I put YSS rear shocks on, and progressive springs in front (15W oil) Incidentally my 1985 Moto Guzzi came with progressive springs from the factory.... The rear view in mirrors is OK to me. I miss an RPM meter, but I a trying to get used to this lack. Brakes are OK, one should not be fooled by the "lack" of the second front disk. I too installed a central stand (costly item). The 17" wheels makes cornering unnaturally swift, I am used to heavier and longer bikes with 18 and 19" from wheels, so I need to calibrate myself every time I take this. I installed an original rear rack, with a top case, that I find useful due to the lack of storage mentioned here
Never drove manual and i have a civic 2009 as my daily driver. These mustangs are not rly expensive here. Im sure i can learn pretty quickly to drive manu,a but what scares me is the steep deiveway i have and getting out of it might be a massive pain
See if you can find someone to teach you. I can usually teach people enough to make them competent in a few hours.
Hey, wondering what exhaust setup you have on the modern bonneville?
It came with them, so I'm not completely sure. They are either TOR (Triumph) pipes or Norman Hyde.
The add on tach looks good. I cant understand why they came without one.
I thought it was a bargain at £4600 but it was reduced to £3800 I bought one at this price and love it.
