Thank you Moto America for making this available. Love the Super Hooligans and hope more folks discover it. Really, really great racing and love the sounds when they're strung out on the banks.
I was going for him the whole time. This is my first time watching this. Heard about it last year but finally got to watch this. I think they should have a 600 class super sport hooligan race too
Man!!! I don't know about other riders, but if Tyler had another lap, he definitely would have had a win... He looked like he was playing MotoGP on God level difficulty and still managed to pass everyone from the back... Btw, i personally feel like he would be an excellent Red Skull 💀💀💀 if they ever thought to replace the ongoing actor... Haahaa...
MotoAmerica put on an amazing weekend for race fans. My first 200 in a long time since the old AMA days and I got a say what a class act! Shame the crowds weren't like they were years ago, but I think its making a comeback just like IndyCar. Too bad because if you weren't there, you missed one hell of an action packed weekend, couldn't have asked for anything more, an that SuperSport race photo finish!
That ktm is an 890 compared to the 1200cc of the Indian probably a big weight difference as well bloody brilliant stuff,, you can definitely make the maddest race series ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️from Northern Ireland great viewing
You and me both!! Unfortunately as of now though they only allow twins in this race. It’s pretty stupid too because one of the most popular and well known hooligan bikes ever made is the Triumph Street and Speed triples. They name a race after a style THEY created and don’t allow them to compete.
@@andersd8956 no, it states right on their website under rules that it is ONLY for twins 750cc and up. Theoretically speed twin could compete but it’s not in those bikes class and would get smoked. It’s a cafe racer and has old school suspension, banana seat and way down on power. It’s far from a track capable bike. Even the thruxton would get absolutely raped in that lineup of bikes. That’s why I mentioned the street triple 765.
@@andersd8956 and even the new 765 street triples are just under the 125hp mark so they could compete if they allowed triples. They would need a little ballast like the dukes to meet minimum weight though. Not much though. Man would I, and I’m sure many others, LOVE to see some street triple RS’s out on that track. Along with some MT-09’s and some others. It would be MUCH more interesting than watching a race that’s only between like 3 or 4 different bikes.
@@andersd8956 yeah I hope they expand it some to make it more interesting. You’re right, I didn’t even think about the thruxton coming with clip ons instead of a handlebar.
As well as the Triumph triples! I agree 100% that they need to open the field up a bit instead of just a couple different bikes making up the whole field. Plus there’s nothing sweeter sounding than a triple cranked wide open!!
Not so sure. With the amounts of mods that are allowed I have a suspicion that especially the Z900 will become a beast on the straights since the engine is in a fairly low state of tune on the road bikes.
@@cfltitan Agreed. I’ve seen Z900s with a full exhaust system, airfilter and a good tune get almost 130 whp. Factor in that the bikes from stock have relatively small 36mm throttle bodies and fairly mild cams. I’d say that 140+ whp is very much within reach.
@@frenchtoast-d7u definitely! That size inline four can make real serious power. Hell look at it’s daddy the ZX10. It’s only 100 more cc’s and aggressively tuned and makes 200hp. Hell my Street Triple from the factory is around 115-118 and is only a 765 inline three.
Ktm coming in hot for the beginning of the year! I know this isn’t MotoGP but 2nd place finish for factory ktm in Qatar and now Dbrino wins 1st for Super Hooligans. How badass is that.
750cc minimum, 420lbs minimum, OE 125hp maximum, 18 years old minimum.... so, yeah, there are limits...lots and lots of limits. what the fuck are you talking about?
This is the first I’ve ever heard of super hooligans. I am so happy I found this. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was attempting to describe this to a friend and a nutshell is it basically just naked bikes class?
Yes and no. For whatever very stupid reason they only allow twins in this race. So a LOOOOT of naked hooligan bikes (including the bike that basically started it all, the Triumph Street Triple) can’t race.
My brother-in-law has an Indian FTR. All I can say after riding his bike a few times when we swapped bikes I am extremely impressed at how these guys are keeping up with the KTM 890 I would’ve told you they would not even be able to keep up if you would’ve asked me before I watch this they must’ve really set those bikes up well because from the factory they are sketchy as shit in a fun way though. The tires that they put on that biker in the factory are like this hybrid off-road dirt track tire and it’s just got all this power it’s a barrel of monkeys but I am extremely impressed that it was able to go toe to toe with the KTM which is the bike that is known for being a great out the box scalpel for carving up the roads. So seeing that Indian right there with it was extremely impressive.
Incredible race to watch!! I really really wish they’d let triples in so I could see some Triumph’s competing. I consider the Triumph street and speed triples to be Hooligan bikes. The new 1200 speed triple would be way unfair but they could let the 765’s run or even the old 1050 speed motor compete. Still an awesome race to watch

Ya I don't get that either. They made him start from the pit lane entry line, at the rear of the pack, for the warmup lap when he's already at the rear? Illogical. Great race though!
“These bikes are so evenly matched” KTM 890cc with 50lbs of added weight and a list of restrictions, Indian 1200cc and no restrictions or added weight. Yup, that’s evenly matched.
Because the SuperDuke does not belong to this class of racing. What is the point of racing a SuperDuke against Harleys and Indian FTR ? The performance is not even close. Even the Duke 890R has to add extra weights to it to be able to race in this class and it still wins.
Hard to beat the super scalpel. I have a 890 Duke R. That bike is a weapon. Barely over 400 lbs soaking wet in street trim. Will turn in if you sneeze too hard on the handlebars. Wonder why there are no SDRs. Indians are running 1200cc.
sdr isnt legal for the class, too much hp. We had to add almost 50lbs to the 890R for the class because it is so light compared to the Indians and Harleys
@@ahastings1 was the minimum weight a new rule for this season? I remember a super hooligans race in which 2 890Rs were running way ahead of the pack last year after lapping most of the field. I think it was the 2021 Laguna Seca race between Andy Dibrino and Chris Filmore
First time seeing these types of bikes racing and thought it was cool as hell. I didn't see mention of the super nakeds in a super hooligan class racing which i found odd until I looked up the regs for the bikes and just killed any interest in the series.
