I think he actually can sing well, he just chooses to mess around and yell and improvise too much. I always wished DLR tried a bit harder to sing the songs the way they were on the albums but hey who the hell am I to criticize.
Only problem with the Sammy era; for every Poundcake or Black and Blue or Humans Being there is a Spanked or In 'n out, or Not Enough. Inconsistent as far as I'm concerned.
If someone asked me to play them a Van Halen song that defined how kick ass Van Halen is, it would definitely be this one.
