Man they were so good. One of the best live rock performances ever. Everyone is on point this sounds just like the studio recording. Eddie throws the kitchen sink into this song. All kinds of great guitar tones. Makita drill, Wah pedal, flanger, and all of his usual guitar wizardry. Wow. VH forever. RIP Eddie
BETTER than the studio recording. All 4 of them were at the top of their game. Alex followed Eddie, and Eddie followed Alex. Even after Eddie and Alex threw down, Michael and Sammy had a lot of space to do what they did - and they followed the Van Halen brothers' lead perfectly, without stepping on them. I wish I could have been there.
Every year that goes by of Eddies passing I watch videos like this and I am simply in awe with him. Back then I just took in for granted listening to him play, now I pick up on things I never heard. He just made it look so dam easy.
Genius. Nobody else came CLOSE to his groove and timing. He was fast and loose, at the same time he was tight and perfect. Every note in this video is ON.

Fun fact: Edward played all the bass on Fair Warning. Sunset Sound recording channel check it out. Not ditching Micheal Anthony. He is great. But there's a distinct difference on "push comes to shove".. Mike was Always prominent in the mix.
@@capnmo6718 I think he’s implying this album finally had the bass properly mixed. On 5150 and especially on OU812 the bass is almost nonexistent. Alex wasn’t happy with how the drums were mixed either. So they asked Alex what type of sound he was looking for and he said that big Bonham sound. So they got Andy Johns who was a producer for Zeppelin to produce the Carnal Knowledge album. That album had the drums and bass with plenty of bottom end to have that full sound. They sound a lot better here live than they did live on the OU812 tour. Theres pro shot recordings for the OU812 and Carnal Knowledge tour on youtube. Check them out and you’ll hear a huge difference in overall sound.
