It was time to go. The college didn't even have the decency to have people watching over the locker room or his office while they played games so people couldn't steal. I would've bounced too.

It should not have taken Coach Prime coming in and providing all the resources he did. The JSU administration should have seen fit to properly allocate resources. Coach also seemed to imply the ALUMNI was not providing resources either. I get what you saying, but there is a bigger picture. It's not just that simple. From what I have learned, he was paid according to his contract. It takes everyone on board to deliver. The coach, school, city, and the IHL. There is something that doesn't want to see JSU success especially when it take away from Power 5. If JSU succeed, other HBCU'S will follow. There is only 1 Deon Sanders with a combination of celebrity and star athlete. Unless you can find a replica or someone alike Deon that would come to a city like Jackson, MS, that is the only way for the momentum to continue.

They was paying that man peanuts! He used some of his own money to fund projects. They stole from him . Blocked him from doing other projects. Yet he still did right by those kids. Enough is enough with the black community. Stop it and we need to get our shiit together. He was and still is SWAC . He did more for SWAC then most of y’all HBCU alumni. Most of y’all don’t ever give back! I went to CAU and I am actively involved in my alumni association. It’s sooo hard to get money from

I think JSU was expecting too much from Prime vs what they were willing to pay. Yes the opportunity he received to coach is very important but no one can overlook the value he brought...he did HUGE things with the opportunity and significantly improved the situation and the lives of those kids. The ignorance is almost scary! You know the point of them kids going there was to be coached under Deion! Just like 98% of players who commit to coaches. This was never about HBCU! It was an opportunity for Deion to coach, because he wasn’t being taken seriously. With that being said, the move put Jackson State Athletics on the national map! It’s up to the athletic department to keep that going. That’s there job. Trying to convince yourself this was anything other than business is a disservice to that university and their intelligence.

its amazing how so many people accept and willing to be used. i find it hilarious how people could justify his actions I find it hard to believe that means the people can hear the same story and almost split 50/50 on what he said so that's a proof that he talked in a vague Manor and language so nothing could really be pent upon but he also made Solid points about culture about change about building about influence about blowing things up and elevating he's going on to a p w i with the same message and the people who support them seem not to hear it the same thing he told Jackson State University but that right and they justified in their feelings because Dion know what he presented to the public at Jackson at Jackson State and to the nation

She is absolutely right. I thought that the whole time, even the speeches he was given to those young men, he had to have cameras there so everybody could say look at Deion. He played Jackson state to get to a big-time division 1A job. None of the big division 1A schools were willing to hire Dion Sanders, including Florida state. Jackson state gave him a chance when no one else would. Let me add that he aint SWAC, and that's coming from a proud Alabama state University hornet. He kept asking what is SWAC, and we now know Deion, it ain't you.

100%.. not to mention he didn’t even qualify fir the job until Talledega College another HBCU gave him a degree. JSU had to get him a degree before they could even hire him per ncaa rules. Head coaches must have a baccalaureate. So he used black folks from start to finish to get over there with white folks

Or is he NOT supposed to spread his blessings and talents to others?

OK! This is not about Deon Sanders great talent as a head coach who retooled the Jackson State University and won the AWAC CHAMPIONSHIPS TWICE IN TWO YEARS, Nor is it about black people don't want to see be elevated and succeed, that's a load of crap.
I've followed Deon since his college years where he got a ton of publicly and on to the NFL, and to The Hall of Fame to.
Black people are upset because we know the dire problems of the HBCU's to recruit top athletes to thier programs.
So when Deon took the job at JSU as new head football coach, we all celebrated Deon, so no one is hating on Deon Sanders, sounds me wit that.
People are upset because Deon gave us this Song and Dance about creating a "Game Change Movement to The HBCU Tradition as far as getting D1 athletes to commit to HBCU'S sports program, and taking the top talented athletes with him to a non-HBCU as well as several top head coaches with him from many HBCU Programs which will only hurt the HBCU Tradition, so even though coming in he's done a lot of good 👍, but with his leaving (which he has every right to do) he's causing more harm to not only JSU, but also all the other HBCU 'S.
If Deon would not have gaven the black community that song and dance and just kept 💯 and just coach and then leave, no one would've said nothing.
So, all you black opportunist who look to enrich themselves at the expense of the black community are just riding Deon jock because they are not about the black communities best interest just themselves.

I totally agree with her. Does anyone remember his inaugural speech? Black folks took him on his "word". He changed those words in that 60 Minute interview. Not long after that, the movement that I thought he was creating was no more. I am a Deion fan; however, I was more of a fan of the movement that he pretended he was creating. Go back to the first speech and then look at the 60 Minute video. Those were a two different Deions. Black folk don't care about the business of football. His word6 was his word.

I knew he wasn't SWAC when after they beat Tennessee State in the Southern Heritage Classic, and was questioned as to why he wanted JSU to stop playing that game, he said that he and his team has no "ties to tradition", because he's only played in the game twice.
Forget that the game has been played for over 30 years, Prime got JSU to back completely out of that game, to chase more money playing another game vs an opponent that is already in the SWAC. And now, both fan bases ( Jackson State and Southern ) have to travel all the way to Birmingham, just to play each other.
