    My homocysteine level was 27 my Dr said it is what it is and nothing you can do. Started taking 5methafolate. After a 10 days my homocysteine was down to 16 and mental clarity through the roof and depression gone.

    Thank you for this Dr Berger. I discovered my MTHFR mutation in 2007 when trying to get pregnant and it’s been a journey. Dr Lynch is also one of my favorite doctors and you both have helped me optimize my health. Thank you.

    Dr David what cardiologist do you see? My cardiologist knows nothing about MTHFR methylation. I had a SCAD (Rt coronary dissection) twenty yrs ago. And now started having AFib. I have MTHFR and am self teaching myself on Methal folate and my afib and irregular heart beats have subsided. I also was diagnosed with MS but per my neurologist am not a typical case. Well yes I’m not I have MTHFR and she too knows nothing about it.
    I’m going to look into Dr. Ben to see if I can get some help. Thank you both! Best Patricia

    I found out at the age of 60! Compound Heterozygous. Each mutation comes with a long list of illnesses and I happened to get them. Functional Medicine Dctr put me on Immune Building herbal drops. Diet is critical as well.

      @DrDavidMD  Год назад +4

      @1spirittv - I am not aware of any human studies that show zeolites detoxify the body from heavy metals. If you know of any medical research on this, please share, as I would like to review. Thanks!

    Anyone know an affordable way for multiple family members to get tested for MTHFR?
    I figure I might as well get my parents tested at the same time as me.
    And my younger siblings will probably be interested, too.
    Is there a family package or group discount somewhere? Groupon? 😂

    So I found out I have a homozygous MTHFR mutation TT version. So started supplementing with larger doses of Methylfolate due to depression and anxiety. Then I found out I had the AG version of the SHMT1 gene. They said to avoid the methylated version of folate. Why??

    I just discovered that I have MTHFR one, not 2, but I 've never had symptoms that indicate that no high low b12 nor high homocysteine, it was random blood works after taking bovine thyroid supplement then i gained 40kg that didn’t budge, yet doing 100% holistic things, its frustrating because any kind of detox is not working, and when doing them i feel the worse
    I do not have any other symptoms and like I said it was just random blood work
    What do you suggest as first step for my special case that is not related to diet and lifestyle?

      Hi
      @mimico5138 - Hi, I'm not sure where you are located, but this requires a very individualized approach. Honestly, if you are able, the best thing would be to make an appointment with one of our family medicine providers at our Tampa office - WholisticFamilyCare.com. One way or another, I truly hope you are able to get support for this.
